Monster Hunter Wilds: What PC Specs Do You Need to Run the Game?
Before you break out the Hunting Horn, check to make sure your computer can handle this graphically-intense entry in the Monster Hunter series.News
Calling all hunters, Monster Hunter Wilds is out now. Building on the legacy of the smash-hit Monster Hunter World, Wilds brings the monster bashing, smashing, and slashing action to a completely open world that promises to be stuffed more full than a Paolumu’s air sac. However, all that kaiju slaying goodness comes at a cost: high PC specs.

Unlike the past few games we’ve covered, Monster Hunter Wilds is a graphically intense game that requires fairly modern hardware, with even the minimum specs packing a hefty requirement. So, let’s answer the big question:
Can My Computer Run Monster Hunter Wilds?
Minimum Specs
- Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 or Intel Core i3-12100 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (VRAM 6GB) or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (VRAM 8GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 75 GB available space
- Additional Notes: SSD required. This game is expected to run at 1080p (upscaled from 720 native resolution) / 30 fps under the "Lowest" graphics setting. DirectStorage supported.
Wild’s minimum specs are a good news/bad news situation. The good news is that it covers hardware from a few generations ago, so if you’re using a PC from the past few years, you’re probably good. The bad news is buried in the “Additional Notes;” these minimum specs are just enough to run Wilds at 1080p, upscaled from a native 720p. If you’re looking to get the most out of Wilds, you’ll need a beefy rig.
Recommended Specs
- Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 or Intel Core i3-12100 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super (VRAM 8GB) or AMD Radeon RX 6600 (VRAM 8GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 75 GB available space
- Additional Notes: SSD required. This game is expected to run at 1080p / 60 fps (with Frame Generation enabled) under the "Medium" graphics setting. DirectStorage supported.
Just like the minimum specs, the recommended specs are a bit of a mixed bag. While there’s undeniably a jump in graphics card requirements to get Wilds to run natively at 1080p, the recommended cards are still a few generations out. However, there are still a lot of caveats buried in the “Additional Notes.” Namely, the recommended specs isn’t going to cut it if you’re looking to play on any resolution beyond 1080p.
With requirements this steep, your best bet to get the most out of Wilds may be the new GPUs either recently released or coming soon from both NVIDIA and AMD.
