I've been trying since March to complete my "Sign of the Times" build (https://www.microcenter.com/buildpost/7153/sign-of-the-times-microcentermadness) and I finally got through on AMDDirect for a 6800 XT. Most of the parts are from MicroCenter though, except for the aforementioned graphics and the EKWB tubing and fittings, which MC doesn't carry those types.$1,624.95 -

I use this pc for my school work and gaming and talking to friends and all the hobbies I have. I multitask a lot, and the orientation of my double monitors really helps with that. I'm not a pro at anything to be honest. I stream just for the fun of it, and I game just to spend time with friends. My PC is capable of most things, and I have yet to come across something that puts any stress on my computer. I play games like Valorant and GTA every here and there. I also at night leave my pc on to mine crypto. It makes like 2$ only, but it adds up and is actually enough to cover the entire electricity bill of everything in my home :) I've always wanted to build my pc and have a nice setup, and while writing this, I'm just now noticing how far I really came. A few years ago, I wouldn't have even imagined my setup would look like this lol. But part by part, minor upgrades here and there really showed a big difference in the long run, which I'm grateful for. Also my We Bare Bear funkos are part of my setup, they mean a lot to me. The laptop I have on my right of my desk I don't use much since that was actually what I used to use before I had a decent PC. I also feel like there might be some controversy with the parts I have, either its cause of pricing or performance. But when I upgrade my PC I do consider having better performance but having it look good matters more to me since I'm not really doing anything that needs a lot of good specs.$2,291.90 -

I am a web developer and I needed a new PC because the older one is slow and kept crashing. It took me sometime to get the parts but at the end it it was a nice to have everything together to start the build. I was anxious. Also the problem with the graphic cards didn't help because everyone wanted one and the bots were really annoying. This was my first actual build and I am really proud of it. Everything works really smoothly and I know it will last a lifetime. My next upgrade for this build will be storage.$3,136.86 -

This led me to learn more about computer hardware so I spent two weeks reading articles, manuals, and watching youtube video's so that I could learn more about the different components that make up a computer. After indoctrinating myself, I set out to build my rig with the intent of creating something that would help me compile code, run virtual machines, and lightly play video games (when I'm not studying of course!!). Since I was only interested in light gaming I didn't mind having a lower end graphics card. Also, considering the shortage of GPU's I was wiling to settle for any GPU that would render things on my monitor. Once the chip shortage mellows out and GPU prices start to normalize I will consider buying a better graphics card so I can play some serious games breh!! Even though I don't have a high end graphics card I'm still very proud of my build because it has a very powerful 12 core AMD processor, 32 gb of ram, 1 TB SSD, and a 2TB HDD. My 12 core processor helps me compile my code at a fast rate and the 32gb of ram gives me the ability to run memory intensive virtual machines in tandem with my host operating system. One of my favorite features is my SSD + HDD combo. I'm planning on keeping my coding files on my SSD so that I can read and write to them at a faster rate and the HDD will be used to store larger files like photo's, movies, and games. Even though HDD's are pegged as slower media, I've found that they can recall files faster when it's not used to hold my primary OS. This small technical loophole allows me to draw greater speed and performance from my HDD. Another great thing about this build is my Lancool II Mesh Tempered Glass eATX Full Tower Computer Case. Even though this case runs on the bigger side, it's size makes it very easy to install all of my components and makes it very easy to cable manage. Also, the two tempered glass side panels make it easy to reach in and make necessary adjustments. Other than it's size, this case has two amazing frontal stock fans that provide outstanding frontal airflow. Even though this case has amazing airflow, I may consider adding a radiator at the top of my case so that I can have air blowing down onto my horizontally placed graphics card. Building a computer during a global pandemic is a daunting task because their is a shortage of computer parts, however I don't regret this experience and I had fun along the way!!$1,464.92 -

Ended up building a custom desk with the help of my dad as a Quarantine project to fit the room. It's used for gaming, schoolwork and the occasional photo/video editing. In the future, I may plan on upgrading the graphics card, or even attempt to do custom water cooling. It definitely took a while to build, having its ups and downs (especially cable management) during construction but the end result was worth it.$1,695.45 -

Multipurpose desktop, mostly gaming, but also taxes (equally exciting, right?). Been waiting (and waiting, and waiting...) to get FFVII remake on PC but nobody seems to know when SE might announce it, so I figured why wait - I’ll get Cloud, Tifa, and those other people (kidding, I know all their names, back stories, and favorite colors) anyways I put them in my PC and put a “Lifestream” theme into iCue to finish the look. Personally, I think it’s the next best thing to having FFVII remake actually on the PC!$760.91 -

Five years ago I joined the world of building custom gaming PCs with my very first gaming desktop containing a Core i5-4690K and a GTX 960 2GB. Ironically enough this was also my very first time visiting my local Micro Center location about an hour drive away. I knew that this wouldn't be the final form of that system and have been upgrading on a roughly annual basis little by little; new CPU cooler here, new GPU there, real standard stuff. By the end of 2020 AMD and NVIDIA both dropped their massive architecture improvements; namely Zen 3 and Ampere. With my recent paychecks from my new part-time job saved up from Christmas break, I knew I wanted to go all out on upgrades and decided to restart from the ground up to build the ultimate system of my dreams. Behold Eclipse; my Ryzen 9 5900X and RTX 3090 FE gaming and editing PC. Yes I know the CPU and GPU are super hard to get ahold of, I feel you 100%. But let this just be a reminder to not give in to scalpers. The CPU was bought from Micro Center at MSRP and the GPU was bought from a guy looking to trade for an RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT. He dropped the price to $1600 when I offered to meet him halfway so even if I'd have bought this GPU myself, the total would've only been $11 cheaper after tax. Even if he wanted the $1589 the card costed after tax I probably would've brought him $11 worth of food for his troubles anyway haha. I really hope you all like this rig as it was my first build with this magnitude of hardware and I think it turned out fantastic. If you wanna see the build process, I highly recommend you check out the video I made on my YouTube channel which can be found here: https://youtu.be/RJSADalELNg I do a lot of fun PC builds and other PC-tech related stuff on my channel so I'd really appreciate if you took a look. I'd like to thank "Diego M" at the Denver Micro Center who helped me (by complete coincidence) during two different trips a couple of months apart while I was gathering parts for this system. I have named this build "Sign of the Times". When you see the picture and spot the sign, you will understand why! Currently I play a variety of strategy games, such as Endless Space 2, Civilization VI, Rome Total War 2. Also some older first person games such as Tomb Raider. I'd like to play newer first person games as well but that will need to wait (see the previously mentioned sign). Almost all the parts were bought at the Denver Micro Center except for items they simply don't carry.$2,141.88 -

Around 3 years ago, I started planning a build to replace my aging i5-3570K PC. I wanted something unique - something that couldn't be simply purchased off the shelf. RGB was just getting big, so I went against the RGB trend and started looking into other ways to make my build stand out. Eventually, I was led to research transparent LCD side panel mods. 2 years ago I put together the initial PC. I picked up a Ryzen 7 1700x for $150 as a placeholder for Ryzen 3000 for this build. That release came, and to my surprise AMD was still lagging behind Intel in gaming performance. But with Ryzen 5000, that's a different story! The Ryzen 5 5600X is a beast, with huge uplifts in single core performance compared to my old 1700X. Heck, it even beats it in multi core. You can find a full build log here, which includes more pictures and even videos of it in action: https://forum.level1techs.com/t/time-for-my-second-build-a-project-lcd-case-v2-v3/135450/$1,724.14 -

Custom water cooled build with a 5950x OC'd to 5.1ghz, EVGA FTW3 ultra 3090 and Corsair Vengeance RGB 32gb ram @4000mhz. Funny story about my CPU. Micro Center in Rockville Md. was showing one in stock. So I drove 2hrs and once I got there they told me it was a error on the website. I was so bummed out.. I started driving home and decided to check at another Micro Center in Parkville Md. I jokingly ask a sales person if they had a 5950's expecting him to say no. He then said that he think's they just received a handful just a few minutes ago. I almost fell over with excitement. OK, this is my second pc build and my first custom water pc. I built this rig for gaming mainly, But also have been flirting with xoc. Best port royal score is 14028. Wanna break that 15,000. Time Spy Extreme 10543. I consider my self a hard core gamer, have about 4000 hours in destiny. I play a lot of story driven games Witcher3, Cyberpunk, Ghost of Tsushima, Nier Automata and Half Life Alex. I built this PC just to be able to play Cyberpunk in 4k. Lol Kind of let down by the game. One thing I wish I would have done different was use all EK parts. Rads and CPU cooler. But I'm proud of the job I did on this pc. I had a lot of fun planning out the build and mapping out the piping. And I hope you enjoy the pictures. Cheers.$7,425.83 -

I just wanted a good rig to game on, process photos or video content and maybe even do some 3D design work for my long list of hobbies. My intent was to make it nice to look at and I've never done a custom build before. No matter what i did the 3090 seemed to be in the way of showing off the nice looking X570. So I decided to vertical mount the card and so began the challenge. What followed was a lot of planning, trips to the hardware store and locating a brake to bend sheet metal that thick. Build FAQ: Custom made the bracket by hand, I have a 40cm link up riser cable twisted meticulously to reduce visibility. Also used a display port 90 adapter and two extension cables to avoid having my hdmi and Display port cables from tv coming through the case. (No loss in frame rate) Temperatures on everything runs from 5-10c cooler including the 3090. Hot air exits out the rear side of case and the top instead of blowing directly on MB. Also as a result of the 3090 not being in the way of the fans the M.2's and Ballistic Max also run a tad cooler.$4,720.81 -

I have some cables showing but covered my mouse cable on the floor so i don't trip over it. i built bane back when the 6700k was new with a 1080. since than i added 64Gb of gskill ram. planning on upgrading when the 40 cards come out and cpu's are at 5Ghz. or might settle for a 5900x. i never really liked desk gaming. i went from a 1970 wing-back lay-z-boy to a raid-max gaming chair i love and added a back message. With this setup i have my mini fridge and coffee maker right here. i want to get a better 2nd monitor but that tv i had since college. i do a lot of gaming cod, puzzles, math, shooters, rts, and some mmorpg after i got banned from wow in classic. I built myself a 3d printer and have been filling the wall up with masks from some of my favorite games and movies. still have my 360 for guitar hero and modded a wii so i can always have some nintendo fun since they are not on pc or steam =..< been an active creater on thingiverse making auto badges and modding others makes to help people with smaller printers. i love my big screen, i never could find a monitor this big since i like to sit back and be comfy while gaming, cad-ing, watching movies and chillin in my discord.$2,398.97 -

Stealth is an all gaming and streaming PC. Packing lots of great parts like an NVIDIA 3080 And Ryzen 9 3900x. I play anything I desire on the PC from simple not high-demanding games like Minecraft all the way up to high-demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty Warzone, Forza, and even Assassins Creed. I'm planning to start streaming and become a YouTuber. It's always been my dream. My goal is to have 5k-10k Subscribers by the end of this year and build a great community and have a great fan base. I hope to make people happy even if it means it's a single person that smiles because I know that one smile could make that person's day and make them happy. Thanks to the help of my PC I hope to reach these dreams and make people happy and put out interesting and funny videos for people to watch. The reason I built this PC was that I needed an upgrade from my 2014 iMac that wasn't helping me get too far besides editing videos but the app would constantly crash which was very annoying. I also had a ps4 but I wanted to make the mouse and keyboard change and have better mechanics. The story behind this PC started last year when the pandemic hit. Most people were lazy and didn't think of ways they could change things but not me. I worked super hard during the summer to raise enough money to buy myself a gaming PC. I would wake up early in the mornings and go to garage sales. From there I would look for valuable items I could resell and make a profit from. After many months of hard work and dedication, I finally had all the money I needed to build my dream PC “Stealth”. This was also the first time I had ever built a PC but I did lots of research and watched many videos to know everything about PCs from simple things like what is and isn’t compatible to learning what everything does and everything that is unique about that part. For cable management, I think I did a great job for it being my first time there are barely any cables visible besides the 24 Pin and the ugly 12 to two 8 PCIe. But there was one problem when I decided to buy my parts I decided wait to get on of the new 3000 series cards that had been announced. I waited and when the day came they were released but were all sold out in seconds. This kept going on for months and months until 3 months later I was finally able to get a 3080 Founders Edition of BestBuy. The wait was long but 100% worth it. I hope with my hard work and dedication that I put into streaming and uploading videos I'm able to change lifes and help people be happy. That is the reason I build “Stealth” and is my one and only dream. Background Information: The reason I call my PC “Stealth” is because of the black, white, and grey colors that match the name “Stealth” and also because of how amazing the computer can run just like the plane named “Stealth”. The little lamborgini adventador was just for decoration I took it apart and spray painted it white and I also painted the interior seats white. It was a little touch to make things look a little nicer inside the PC and not be so plain for the inside. I am a converted PS4 player and absolutely love the quality and performance pc gaming has to offer. I primarily play call of duty titles such as Modern Warfare, Cold War and Warzone. I started streaming on twitch with my old custom gaming pc my brother built and I bought from but now that I have two pc's I am working on getting the stream set up again! This system build was my first ever pc build and it was very challenging but very rewarding. the hardest challenge for me was figuring out where cords connected and what needed to be plugged into the motherboard. Miraculously my bios fired up on the first launch!! I was able to get my graphics card by signing up for the app HotStock. They alert you as soon as a certain product you are looking for becomes available in stock and I snagged a rtx 3070 within just a few days! I themed my pc around msi and was able to find many of the parts I needed on sale at micro center. Very excited about this pc and i cant wait to build another!!$1,641.92 -

I wanted something that looked better in the room than a desk with 2 monitors on it. I "joke" with people that I took my inspiration from Donatello's computer in the Ninja Turtles movie. I may be done adding monitors for a while. Everything is mounted to the wall and the desk raises and rolls out. Mostly I use it to watch Netflix and help developers build code. There is enough power to do vr and run some containers. Couldn't decide on an OS. I am using them all Windows, Mac and Ubuntu. Being both an avid gamer & online entrepreneur, I wanted to create a rustic & minimal space that could fit the purpose of both passions. I decided to build a workshop style desk from Douglas Fir wood & use that to begin building the theme of my setup. I wanted it to come off with a "Gentleman" vibe, which is why I decided to name it "The Gentleman's Workshop". When building out my PC, I wanted RGB but a very humble RGB that would blend well with the warm tones of the Edison bulbs and space. That's why I decided to choose orange, however, these can be changed at anytime to switch up the aesthetics. I'm sure you also notice the Space X touch within the case. I chose this as my Kraken Z73 background to stay inspired when I'm in work mode. Now that my build is complete, when I'm not running my E-commerce businesses online, I enjoy playing titles like Star Citizen, Hell Let Loose, Flight Simulator VR, & occasionally World of Warcraft. I also enjoy just about any other common FPS & MMORPG. As future changes to the build go, I would maybe consider swapping out the Motherboard for something higher quality and more updated but for now, my MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi gets the job done! Overall, I'm extremely happy with the build and will most likely keep it minimal and clean. Less is more here! **All components purchased at my local Microcenter**$4,567.90
