Our Build & Learn Service lets you assemble your PC alongside an expert who verifies all component compatibility and guides you step by step through installing the CPU, RAM, GPU, storage, cooling, power supply, and more. You'll get hands-on help with cable management, BIOS updates, system testing, Windows setup (if purchased), and driver updates. The service includes a year of ESET NOD32 Antivirus, an iFixit Narwhal 6-in-1 Screwdriver to take home, 90-day labor warranty, and organized component boxes—all while you control how much you participate.

Is the Build & Learn Service available at all Micro Center locations?

Yes. The Build & Learn Service is available at all Micro Center stores. Visit your local Micro Center to get started.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes! If you’re looking to upgrade your PC parts but don’t know where to start, our service technicians can make recommendations specific to your needs. We’ll ask specific questions that get to the root of what you need out of your device and make recommendations from there.

Do I need PC building experience to use this service?

Not at all. The Build & Learn Service is designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike. Whether this is your first build or you want to sharpen your skills, our technicians tailor the experience to your comfort level.

What parts will I help install during the build?

You will work with a technician to assemble and install key components, including:

  • CPU
  • RAM
  • Graphics Card (GPU)
  • Storage Devices
  • Cooling Solutions
  • Motherboard

You'll also receive hands-on guidance for installing the power supply, CPU cooler, and any additional fans to ensure proper airflow and cooling.

Will someone help make sure my parts are compatible?

Yes. Before we begin the build, we verify compatibility of all purchased components to ensure seamless integration and avoid issues during assembly. If you’re missing parts, we can help you purchase compatible parts in store.

Can I choose how involved I want to be?

Absolutely. You can participate as much or as little as you’d like. Some customers prefer to build every step themselves, while others prefer to observe and learn. Both options are fully supported.

Will my PC be tested before I take it home?

Yes. Your technician will guide you through BIOS updates, system stability testing, and performance checks. This ensures your PC is running efficiently and reliably before you leave.

Does the service include Windows installation?

If Windows is purchased, the technician will assist with installing Windows, completing updates, and installing necessary drivers to ensure your system is ready to use right away.

Will I learn cable management and airflow best practices?
