It was the last piece missing from my man cave. I wanted a clean build but powerful at the same time. I set the build up with dual 1440p ultrawide 100hz viewsonic monitors and an extra long hdmi to my 75” Samsung tv that is connected to my surround system via arc to the marantz receiver. This setup allows me to game at my desk or kick back on the couch with a controller. I also got a oculus quest with oculus link to play beat saber and Half Life Alyx!! I chose a EVGA 2080ti FTW3 ultra Oc to power all the monitors and TVs. I have made so many trips to microcenter during the building process I have become a regular and familiar with most of the associates at the St David’s location, btw they all rock! This is a top of the line Intel based gaming behemoth. All of the components were chosen because they were, and still are, top of the line for a gaming rig. The customer brought the machine in this year for a water cooling upgrade. Planning for the custom loop was rather difficult, as the open air design of the case does not leave very many mounting options. The final result was well worth the effort. The case used for this build is the InWin D-Frame 2.0, which comes equipped with a built in 1065w power supply.$4,940.51 -

Haven't had a capable gaming pc in over 10 years and haven't actually built systems in over 20 years (my bro and I used to as teenagers). When my wife gave birth to our second son and we got a nice tax refund, my wife gave me the all-clear to get myself a new system. Bought a prebuilt at first but due to problems with the system and poor customer service, I returned it and got to researching my own build. The system started off on a Gigabyte board and NZXT case, but after more problems with certain parts, I ended up with an almost completely Corsair build. Out of all of the customer service issues I had to deal with, they are simply the best: no hassle, no run around, just fast RMA. As for the system, I use it to play mostly single player RPGs or FPS games. I love the Metro series, Divinity games, The Witcher games, Resident Evil, BattleTech and MechWarrior, Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Deus Ex, and so many others. Recently I played most of the latest games with real time ray traced effects and I'm eagerly anticipating where the technology is heading. Really looking forward to a couple of other games that will feature the technology in Cyberpunk 2077 and Vampire Bloodlines 2. Also really looking forward to Baldur's Gate 3. Currently enjoying Season 2 of The Division 2 with my brother, and really hoping that the next Control DLC will feature Alan Wake as many expect it to be! In the future, I hope to install a hard line custom loop, likely in the Hydro X series since I already have a Commander Pro and have already installed a soft tube Hydro X loop for a friend. Sadly, I can't find a water block for my card (they appear to be EOL both at EVGA and EKWB - Corsair doesn't make one for my model), so if I want to go custom loop, I'll probably have to get a new card. Otherwise, I don't really plan any other upgrades until I replace the system maybe in five years, especially since Z390 is also the end for upgrades.$4,927.85 -

He was given a budget of $5,000 and he was able to use the brand new Intel 9900KS processor. Linus decided to use the Asus TUF Gaming GT501 case with Corsair RGB fans. He built a very powerful PC including 2 Nvidia RTX 2080 TI graphics cards. Linus put this system together in our workshop and decided he wanted to sell it. With limited time left in the day, he priced this $5,000 PC at small discount for $20! The lucky customer who first noticed this PC was purchasing it as a birthday gift for her brother. Unfortunately Linus was not able to accept credit card payment at his cardboard stand, so he knocked another $5 off the price. With $15 cash in hand, he headed to Carl's Jr. after a successful, hard day of work! Thanks so much to Linus for coming out and filming in our store. We had a blast and can't wait for the next time you're in town! To see the full video visit Linus' channel here: https://youtu.be/5rwYjRzLHHI$4,904.83 -

This is not this customer’s first experience with Micro Center - he has come to us several times with this case before and knew our abilities. He decided that his original build in this Cougar Conqueror Case was outdated, so he did some research and decided on what he wanted including what components of the original build could be used. This is no ordinary computer, with its open air case with all see through panels the cable management was a feat on its own, the customer made it very clear that this build would be a thing of pride something to show off to all of his fans. It included FOUR RGB Trident RAM sticks - the ones that look like diamonds! Amazing graphics were not enough, he needed out of this world real life graphics, so he chose TWO Gigabyte RTX 2080ti graphics cards that he could run in SLI mode. He wanted to build a new system and give his old one to his sister. He didn't keep up with hardware news so he didn't know what to purchase and also didn't want to do the build by himself, so he asked me to help him. Build is used for gaming and school, and possibly streaming in the future. He is also considering video editing as a possible use for his system. To that end, I advised him to go with AMD and in the end, he just went with everything that I recommended. I'm a bit surprised that he wanted to go with water cooling, and honestly, it was my first time ever doing a custom loop for anyone. I wish that I had more time to polish the build (and manage the cables better), but I had to work at his place and be home at a reasonable time. Since he was a bit far away, I could only manage two visits: one for building the system itself and one for installing the soft tube loop when the parts finally arrived.$4,094.93 -

The system was originally built for benching in overclocking competitions, specifically for CPU and memory overclocking. It has since been used for general web browsing and gaming, with some performance tweaking going on every now and then when I get the urge. I can bench the delidded 8700k at 5.4ghz (Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the die) in Cinebench and my memory runs stable at DDR4 4000 C15-15-15-30 with a Command Rate of 2. tREFI at 65535 and tRFC at 300. Every single timing has been tightened to their limits, from primaries all the way down to the last tertiary timing. RTL and IO-L values have been manually dialed in to prevent the RAM from training outside of my specifications. Currently, the least impressive aspect of my system is the graphics card. It's a stock RTX 2080 Ti using a reference PCB and modded to use my old 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid cooler. Anything is possible with a rotary tool. I plan on using a custom Heatkiller Pro IV block to replace the FTW3 hybrid cooler and eventually mod the card to support a higher power limit through shunt mods. My cooling solution is quite overkill, hence the name of this build. My CPU water block is a Heatkiller Pro IV. My loop has a massive 1260mm radiator with 18 Corsair ML140 fans in a push-pull configuration. My water never exceeds the ambient air temperature in my room. It's for this exact reason that I am able to bench my processor as high as 5.4ghz, and run at 5.1ghz stable under load. I use a standard EKWB D5 Liang pump which has a high enough flow rate to move the liquid through my radiator. To top everything off, I use a little pink desk fan to keep my motherboard VRM's cool under this heavy load. If it looks stupid but works, it's not stupid.$4,067.68 -

Apparently, 11 out of 10 case mods currently are Cyberpunk 2077 themed, so I guess if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Of course, it had to be water cooled, too, and I haven't water cooled a system since the days of cutting your own window in a beige case and milling your own waterblocks. Thankfully, though, The days of shopping the plumbing department of Ace Hardware are a thing of the past, and I can just walk into a store and pay an entire seperate computer's worth of money for premade stuff! Having a 3d printer department in a store that's not located on a starship somewhere in the future was also amazingly helpful, and made the relearning curve of this entire mod bananas. Now I have an entirely new hobby that my wife can yell at me for enjoying. My initial vision was of a custom reservoir with a cyborg floating inside, with blood red fluid running through the tubes, like the sci-fi movie cliche where swimming in goo replaces all hospital beds, but then i realized that this is not my day job, so i improvised and bought a kit. I mean, what's a cyberpunk theme without a bubbling vat of person? The future is also shaped like a hexagon, so I added an aluminum hexagon pattern to the front panel of my case, and partly on top. I added 40 caliber shells with magnets inside, to the back panel for extra awesome. I've been eye-balling the Phanteks Enthoo 719 for some time, because I love full tower cases, and this sucker is a beast. Also, who has 2 thumbs and finally saved up enough money for a 2080 ti 2 months before the 30xx series is released? Oh yeah, this guy! Honestly, the card was worth the long wait, and chugs along maxed out at 4k, at around 37 degrees. Now all that was left was to bleed the system for a week straight, and add a half gallon of water to an improvised vase on the top of my case. This adventure is not for the faint of heart, and gives me nightmares, but the enthoo 719 weighs about as much as a Space X Falcon Heavy, so it should hold. The logo, fan grill, and cylinder base were all printed with a Creality CR-10. The base is just an enlarged fan grill available on Thermaltake's website. Homage paid to Akira and Elysium in the form of exoskeleton spine parts used as a cable cover.$3,973.82 -

The main use for this rig will Freelance UX/UI Design with a little bit of gaming as well. I've been a Mac user for 15 years and only used PC off and on to casually game. Now that I work-from-home almost exclusively and 2012 was the last time you could buy an upgradable Macbook Pro, I've decided to jump ship and move to something I can actually upgradable and more powerful. I'm very pleased with this setup, it has lots of power, memory, and storage. I am able to have tons of design applications and browser windows open with no performance issues. Now I just need to get used to Window's CTRL vs Mac's CMD which is in the same spot as ALT. The first day using this for my design work I hit ALT+Z about 400 times which brings up Geforce Experience overlay. LOL I built this computer using Micro Center's Custom PC Builder, reserved my parts online, and picked up my parts hours later. Pretty cool being able to put together a complete build and pick up your parts the same day. The Custom PC Builder has compatibility filters so it only shows parts that will work together based on your selections. Although build this computer myself because I really enjoy the building process. For a small fee, Micro Center offers a building service which they will put together the hardware, and make sure it posts. For a bit extra cost they can even install Windows, appropriate drivers, and make sure it's up and running before you pick it up. You could literally pick out your parts on a lunch break and pick up a working computer after work, they just need a 4-hour window to build it.$3,227.88 -

An upgrade from my 2010 build, this computer is primarily meant to last another 10 years with Photoshop, web browsing, video-watching, and the occasional video game playing on it. I wanted a solid foundation with the latest Intel processor, DDR5 RAM, SSDs for system and primary storage, and 8TB HDDs in RAID 1 for backup of years of art files and the likes. The GPU is fairly underwhelming, all things considered with this build, but GPU isn't my primary concern and it's also about the easiest thing to swap out when I need to upgrade it. Since I'm not doing water-cooling, I went with a well-ventilated case a Noctua CPU air cooler, and added Noctua's budget fans to the front (using the case's included two fans for a rear and top ventilation.) I also am going with a stealth build... everything is all-black (except the Noctua budget fans... which I may swap or paint later), and I've turned off all lighting (except for the power light.) I do have a slight buzzing from the glass panel of the case that I need to remedy at some point though. I also mis-read the mouse packaging and thought it was a wireless-charging mouse. Instead, it's a standard AA battery. The Keyboard is nice, except that the D key illumination LED is already miscolored days after initial use, and it doesn't keep its key-lighting setting after power-cycles (FN+F12)$3,205.68 -
