This is what I would consider revision #6 of my entire setup spanning from ~2011 to present day. Is a build ever really complete?

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990x just launched yesterday on February 7, 2020. This processor has 64 cores, 128 threads, and 256mb cache. Linus made some alterations to the build on day of filming in order to water-cool the GPUs. He had a time crunch, but he got it done, and we really love the finished product!

In the future, Wendell would recommend water cooling the GPUs, but even still this machine is like nothing else on the market.

This is my third ever build, I purchased all the parts at the end of May this year and assembled all at once. While I know the machine is overkill for what I use it for and so many look better this was my dream PC and it feels so damned good using this beast! The reason I went all out for this build compared to my previous system (R7 3800x 2070 super) was I lost my Mother unexpectedly in May last year, I received a small amount of inheritance exactly one year after she passed and felt this would be the best way to immortalise my best friend. My first ever gaming PC was a Dell prebuilt with a 7600GS and a core 2 duo I belive, she bought me this when I was fourteen, even before this she encouraged my love of computers with a second hand commodore 64. Miss you!

  Combination of a workstation/gaming rig, with the secondary PC for some additional gaming for my youngest daughter,... Combination of a workstation/gaming rig, with the secondary PC for some additional gaming for my youngest daughter, streaming, etc. Still need to get a GPU for that 2nd system, however. First PC builld/upgrade in about 12 years. Pulled out all the stops, burned an incredible hole in my wallet in the process. Still have to fine-tune the RGB (and get the appropriate cables for the Lian Li GPU strimer to work correctly). Getting there, however. Top monitors help manage a separate media server.

I am a gamer, and I focus on graphics and smooth game play, so the games I play take up a lot of room and computing power. With a game library of over 1,000 games and constantly getting more, I have to keep adding and/or replacing parts to my rig. Anything from older Command and Conquer games, Mass Effect, Starcraft; to new hits like Cyberpunk 2077, Starfield, Destiny 2, Battlefield. With this in mind I am always looking at new gear and reviews (even when not planning an upgrade) so I am able to keep up with new games while making sure I can still play the old favorites. I am looking into the streaming field as well, just not sure how to start getting followers.

I stream Halo infinite, CoD, Apex, OW, FF15/11/7, runescape. All I need now is to get a proper keyboard, and upgrade my monitor to the newer 2160p Neo G9. This is the completed build. Paul & Austin in Deluth help me determine what I needed for what I wanted. Because it was my first custom loop I chose to do soft tubing...It would look better aesthetically had I done hard tubing. I also now regret getting the 4090. It's a monster of itself but it doesn't support DP 2.1 which limits video bandwidth.   I haven't build a desktop since May 2008. This machine is a culmination of several years of saving and several months of... I haven't build a desktop since May 2008. This machine is a culmination of several years of saving and several months of hunting parts on every possible retailer. Sitting out in the lines in front of Micro Center on cold January mornings, watching dozens upon dozens of browser tabs from every possible online retailer refreshing across six displays. Finally, it runs. 2019/2020 were some pretty rough years so this is a present to myself. Cable management isn't complete because PCIE riser cable is not PCIE4.0 compatible, and the card has to come out again at some point, the radiator also has to be remounted because supplied screws weren't quite long enough, and there is temporary hardware installed for now. AIO head unit cover is not in place until radiator is remounted (need hose slack to install).Once all cable management is complete and parts are finally in place permanently, all the peel will come off. Practically 100% ASUS ROG build, hence the build name, ROG HARD.. Raid took some effort to get working as the documentation hasn't been updated for 5000 series CPU's. Currently the system is overclocked to 4.6ghz all cores, and GPU boosts to 2025. I built this monster for 3d/2d art, CAD, 3d printing, video editing, streaming, gaming, might try some mining too, just to learn the ropes. I live streamed the build form the living room while I am remodeling the spare room into a stream studio. Once I move it into the the studio I will set up the full triple monitor lay out.

And figured why not! I initially built this with a 7900x3d and decided to upgrade it to the 9800x3d since I had to flush out the system to change the fluids regardless. The whole process was a lot easier than I anticipated and was pretty straightforward. While I enjoyed the entire process, I will more than likely NOT do it again, as it's a bit of a pain in the butt to perform any type of maintenance on this thing lol.

Firsts: - Liquid Cooling - Custom PSU Cables - Custom Paint Job I built this machine to handle everything I could throw at it, all the while streaming without a 2 PC setup. This computer dabbles in a little bit of everything in my daily life. FPS, Creative games like Satisfactory, VR, Multi-camera tabletop gaming setups, 3D print design, etc. I'm pretty happy with everything I've put into this to suit my needs, so upgrade are minimal. - Complete cable management on backside, all the necessary extensions are sitting in a box, just need the motivation to re-wire everything - Troubleshoot LED lighting, it's such a pain to get everything dialed in, and the EKWB Hub is a little ball of constant issues - Upgrade NVME storage to take full advance of read/write speeds
