Everything Intel Announced at CES 2024

At CES 2024, Intel revealed its latest processors, emphasizing performance, versatility, and AI chops. This includes processors suitable for gaming laptops, business PCs, and even ultra-portable laptops. 

The Core i9-14900HX leads Intel's mobile processor offerings as the new performance flagship. It features a combination of 24 cores, split between 8 high-performance cores and 16 efficiency cores, and aims to strike a balance between processing power and energy consumption – a key factor for mobile devices where battery life is a major concern. With a peak turbo frequency of up to 5.8GHz, this processor seems equipped for intensive tasks.

Intel also introduced the Series 1 Family, led by the Core 7 processor 150U. This processor, with its 10 cores and 12 threads, reaches a turbo frequency of up to 5.4GHz. Specifically designed for thin and light laptops, it appears to be geared towards a smart compromise between efficient battery use and reliable performance. Intel really seems to be focused on meeting modern laptop users where they are, balancing the need for mobility and with the desire for high performance.

New Intel Desktop Processors

For desktops, Intel rolled out its new 14th-Gen Core processors in both 65-watt and 35-watt variants. These processors are intended for a range of desktop applications, including mainstream desktops, All-in-One systems, and edge devices. The variety in power levels suggests Intel’s aim to cater to different desktop computing needs, from general use to more power-intensive tasks.

Also teased was Arrow Lake, which Intel called "the first desktop gaming CPU with an AI accelerator," and says its coming later in 2024.

AI is King

But much of Intel's attention at CES 2024 was on the future of what it calls the AI PC, powered by the Core Ultra chips first launched in December, 2023. Intel execs detailed the incorporation of advanced AI capabilities directly into their new generation of processors and into partner products from Dell, HP, Lenovo and other PC makers. The AI-enhanced Core Ultra chips are designed to significantly boost the performance of PCs in areas like natural language processing and data analysis, which are increasingly prevalent in everyday tasks. 

From mobile enthusiasts and mainstream PC users to those requiring efficient, yet powerful, desktop solutions, Intel's array of new processors is set to enhance a wide range of computing experiences.
