Holiday Gift Guide 2025: The Best Gear for the Content Creator
From smart cameras to hands-free wearables, these are creator-tested tools that make the content creation process smoother, faster, and more fun.Buying Guides
As someone who creates podcasts and video content every week, I’ve learned that the best gear gifts are the ones that make creative work easier and more enjoyable. When tools take friction out of the process, creators can focus more on the storytelling and less on the setup.
Photo: Jacob Bobo This year brought a lot of smart upgrades to the creator toolkit, from compact cameras and microphones to clever workflow accessories and wearable tech. Each of the products below represents something I’ve used myself or would add to my own kit to make production faster, more flexible, or simply more fun.
Insta360 Flow 2 Pro Smartphone Gimbal Stabilizer - White

Gimbals are essential for producing polished, professional-looking footage, and the Insta360 Flow 2 Pro is a smart and travel-friendly solution. The Flow 2 Pro is one of the highest-rated smartphone gimbals available right now, with strong stabilization and a highly portable design that is easy to stow away. Its 3-axis gimbal does a great job at keeping footage steady while walking or panning, and the upgraded Deep Track 3.0 system can track faces or moving subjects for smooth, cinematic results.
The built-in retractable selfie stick and tripod mean it's incredibly versatile for solo creators who don’t have the luxury of a separate camera operator when recording interviews, B-roll, or short-form content. It also switches between vertical and horizontal orientation with a single motion, which makes producing for multiple platforms that much easier. Whether you’re producing vertical video on the go or horizontal footage at home, the Flow 2 can make video production that much smoother.
Elgato Prompter

The Elgato Prompter has become one of the most important pieces of gear in my studio. I rely on it not just for recording scripts, but also for video calls and interviews. Because the display sits directly in front of the camera lens, it allows me to look at the person on the other side of a Zoom call or interview while maintaining “eye contact” with the camera. It creates a natural, conversational connection that you simply can’t achieve with a monitor positioned off to the side.
The prompter connects easily through USB-C and integrates with Elgato’s excellent teleprompting software, but it can work with standard teleprompter apps as well. The display itself is crisp and bright, and setup is pretty easy. For any creator or professional who spends time on camera, the Elgato Prompter is a serious upgrade that improves communication and confidence.
Elgato Stream Deck Mark 2 - Black

I have used the Stream Deck for a few years now, and its flexibility makes it an indispensable tool for many creators out there. The Mark 2 version continues that legacy with a refreshed design and even more customization options. Its 15 LCD keys can be programmed to trigger just about anything, like camera switching in OBS, lighting adjustments in the studio, sound cues in Streamyard, or launching any combination of apps on the production computer. With a little bit of advanced planning, you can create a custom command center that speeds up workflow immensely.
What makes the Stream Deck special is how it keeps your creative flow uninterrupted. Having worked with enormous switchers before, the Stream Deck offers much of the direct access to advanced production techniques as large format switchers but with custom button images to guide the way. The Mark 2 has set to be the gold standard for creators who want to simplify complex workflows in the studio.
Shure MV7+ Dynamic Podcast Microphone - Black

I used the Shure MV7+ on several trips this year, and it proved to be an excellent choice for a portable podcasting setup. The hybrid design lets you plug in directly via USB without carrying an audio interface, as an interface is embedded into the mic itself, keeping travel gear to a minimum. For two-person recordings, the second mic port built into the device makes the process even simpler and faster to set up.
The MV7+ delivers impressive sound quality for a microphone that is this compact and versatile. It does not quite have the same depth and warmth as the studio-standard SM7B, but it comes surprisingly close while avoiding the need for extra gear like an inline preamp. The mic includes onboard Digital Signal Processing, which means you have access to a whole host of useful effects to up your game as well. The MV7+ offers a professional sound that easily earns a place in any creator’s travel kit.
Shure MV6 Dynamic Gaming Microphone - Black
A step down from the MV7+ above, the MV6 is labeled as a gaming microphone but can handle double duty as an entry-level streaming microphone as well. While seasoned veterans may be better served by the MV7+ above, the easy-to-use MV6 is a great option for new-comers and veterans looking for a backup alike.
DJI Mic 3 1-Person Compact Wireless Lavalier Microphone System (1x Transmitter, 1x Receiver)

The DJI Mic 3 builds on the strong foundation of the Mic 2 that I’ve relied on for the last year, refining much of the experience. The new model is smaller, lighter, and even easier to clip discreetly to clothing. Battery life has been extended, and the transmitters now feature larger internal storage and 32-bit float recording, which helps preserve clean audio even if levels peak unexpectedly.
One of the most practical upgrades is the improved portability. My main complaint about the Mic 2 was that the transmitters were a little bulky. The Mic 3’s compact size makes a real difference when trying to keep the mic discreet or shooting in tighter spaces. It still records locally while transmitting to the receiver, a redundancy that has saved me on more than one occasion. For creators who want high-quality, cable-free audio in a grab-and-go package, the Mic 3 is a solid evolution of a proven design.
Meta Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 2)

The Meta Ray-Ban Wayfarer smart glasses represent Meta’s most refined take on camera glasses yet, save of course for its Meta Ray-Ban Display pair. This new model improves image quality, voice control, and comfort, and it integrates seamlessly with Meta’s apps for quick uploads to Instagram and Facebook. The result is a more polished, creator-friendly version of the concept that lets you record video or snap photos from your own perspective with a single tap or voice command.
Having used the Meta Oakley HSTN glasses on a recent work trip to Ireland, I found that Meta’s camera glasses shine in situations where pulling out a phone or camera would interrupt the moment. They are ideal for creators who focus on short-form, vertical video, capturing authentic first-person content that really feels spontaneous and personal. For quick storytelling on social platforms, the Wayfarer Gen 2 delivers a wearable camera that feels natural to use in everyday life.
Sony ZV-E10 II
The Sony ZV-E10 II is a great option for creators who are ready to move beyond a smartphone or compact camera as their go-to. It keeps the easy-to-use layout of the original ZV-E10 while also upgrading nearly every internal component. The new 26-megapixel APS-C sensor captures cleaner detail and better color, and Sony’s real-time subject tracking continues to be among the best in the business, so faces and eyes stay perfectly in focus even during quick movements. What makes this camera appealing for growing creators is its flexibility, with support for interchangeable lenses and an articulating touchscreen that adds real versatility in different shooting situations. Combined with an improved microphone system and strong low-light performance, the ZV-E10 II is an ideal next step for creators who want professional-quality results without the size or price of a full-frame setup.
These products represent some of the most practical and creator-focused gear updates of this year. Each one makes a different part of the production process easier, whether that means improving audio, capturing sharper video, simplifying on-camera delivery, or freeing up focus for creativity instead of complicated logistics.
