Bambu Lab A1 Mini FAQ
Bambu Lab A1 Mini - Printer
If you're having trouble with bed adhesion, try cleaning your build plate with dish soap and a microfiber cloth to remove oils or residue. Rinse thoroughly, let it dry, and try printing again.
Why are my prints are failing or printing incorrectly?
Print quality issues like blobbing or stringing can result from using the wrong filament profile. Ensure the correct filament type is selected in Bambu Studio. Filament absorbs moisture from the air, drying your filament in a filament dryer can help as well.
A piece of filament is broken in the tubing - what do I do?
Filament may become brittle over time, particularly if it absorbs moisture from the air. If the filament breaks within the tubing, remove the tube by pressing down on the connector and pulling it out. Then, extract the stuck filament.
Why is my printer not able to connect to a network?
Your 3D printer can only connect to a 2.4GHz network. Ensure a strong signal at the printer's location and verify that your modem or Wi-Fi router is broadcasting on 2.4GHz. You may need to configure your wireless access point to broadcast separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks.
Why won't my Bambu A1 connect to my phone after scanning the QR Code?
Verify that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and that the Bambu Handy app has location permissions if you are using an Android phone. To manually bind your printer, use the pin code found in the on-screen menus after connecting to Wi-Fi. Navigate to Settings > Account to retrieve the pin code, then enter it in the Devices tab in Bambu Studio.
Why am I unable to home or level the printer?
Ensure there is no filament stuck to the printer nozzle; if present, remove it using side cutters or pliers. Confirm that the build plate is properly aligned with the heat bed.
Why is the heatbed is stuck in the plate?
The printer’s heatbed is secured using screws to protect it from moving during shipping. These screws must be removed before you use your printer.
Why am I unable to see through the Bambu Lab A1 Mini camera?
Double check to make sure that your printer is connected to a Wi-Fi network with a strong connection. If you are able to view the camera but it’s obscured there is a privacy lens cover that you can move out of the way.
Why is my A1 Combo not extruding any filament?
Ensure your filament spool is not tangled. Verify the correct filament profile is set and that the nozzle temperature matches the filament's printing temperature. Check the nozzle and extruder for clogs.
Why is my printer showing an HMS error code?
You can find more details about the HMS error code and troubleshooting steps on the Bambu Lab wiki. If you need any further assistance, feel free to reach out to Remote Technical Support—we're here to help!
Why is purged filament stuck to the nozzle?
The nozzle wiper blade may not be in the correct position. You can lightly bend the nozzle wiper to bring it close to the nozzle to make sure it knocks the purged filament off of the nozzle.
How can I keep purged filament from being scattered during printing?
You can use a container next to your printer to collect the purged filament. There are many options available that you can even print!
Bambu Lab A1 Mini - AMS Lite
Why am I unable to select filament from the AMS?
If you cannot select a filament loaded into your AMS when printing from Bambu Studio or on-screen, verify that the filament type and color are set for each slot of your AMS Lite. On the printer screen, go to the filament page, tap a slot, and select 'Edit.' You can also adjust filament slot settings in the Devices page in Bambu Studio.
Why isn't the AMS lite isn’t feeding the filament to the A1 Mini printer?
This issue might happen if your filament spool is tangled or if there's broken filament in the tubing. Check the spool for tangles or try a different spool to see if that helps. If there's broken filament in the tubing, remove the tubing and pull out the filament. Also, make sure your filament is compatible with the AMS Lite. Flexible filaments like TPU or abrasive filaments can cause binding and extra wear.
Why is it difficult to load filament into the AMS lite feed funnel?
To make it easier to feed filament into the AMS lite cut the filament roughly at a 45-degree angle using side cutters. You can then press the button on the side of the feeder unit and push the filament in, once you feed it in the AMS lite will automatically feed the filament the rest of the way through.
Confirm that there are not any sharp bends or pinches in the tubing. This adds resistance preventing the filament from feeding through.
I am unable to print from the AMS lite because the printer thinks there’s filament loaded in the external spool
Double check to make sure that the external spool filament has been unloaded. If the filament is unloaded disconnect the PTFE tubing from the filament hub on the printer and remove any broken filament if there is any.
