ASUS ROG Showcases Latest Hardware at CES 2025
ASUS returns to CES 2025 with a suite of new beefed-up ROG laptops, desktops, and tablets to handle whatever games you play. The new models feature upgraded visuals, graphics, and, of course, some fancy new RGB tech.
The new ROG lineup is coming in February so keep an eye out on the Micro Center site for when they drop.
2025 ROG Strix Scar 16/18

Leading the pack of new ROG devices are the Strix Scar gaming laptops. ASUS went all-in with giving the laptop design a gamer appeal with RGB lights all over and a programmable LED dot-matrix display, called AniMe Vision, on the lid for both the 16” and 18” versions. This customized display lets everyone know that you’re busy gaming by creating programmable text and animations on the lid.
Under the hood of the Scar 16 and 18 are the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processors and up to NVIDIA RTX 5090 laptop GPUs. The laptops also come with up to 64GB DDR5 5600MHz RAM and 4TB PCIe Gen4 SSD. For display, the Scar laptops have a 16:10 Mini-LED 2.5K that has a 240Hz refresh rate and 1200 nits peak brightness.
Cooling the whole system down is ROG’s Intelligent Cooling tech. A custom end-to-end vapor chamber, sandwiched heatsink, Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal, and Tri-Fan Technology are designed to keep the laptops cool and quiet while gaming.
2025 ROG Strix G16/18

Coming just a step below the Scar laptops are the ROG Strix G16 and G18 laptops. The G versions don’t come with the AniMe Vision lid, but the hardware powering the laptop is still powerful.
Both G16 and G18 come with either an AMD Ryzen 9 HX and Intel Core Ultra 9 HX CPUs and either a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080, 5070 Ti, or 5070 Laptop GPUs. The laptops also have 32GB of DDR5 5600MHz RAM, a 2TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, and the same cooling tech as the Scar laptops. Another change with the Strix laptops is the display which has the same refresh rate but has a peak brightness of 500 nits.
Visually, the ROG Nebula HDR Display on the SCAR 16/18 elevates gameplay with its 2.5K mini-LED panel, over 2,000 dimming zones, 16:10 aspect ratio, and ultra-responsive 240Hz refresh rate. With 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and a peak bright
2025 ROG Zephyrus G14

For those who want a powerful gaming machine that’s lightweight, ASUS has the ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16. The ultrathin laptop comes in at just over 3 lbs with the 14”-inch version and slightly more than 4lbs for the 16-inch.
The ROG Zephyrus G14 comes with up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, while the G16 comes with the Intel Core Ultra 9 285H CPU and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU. The G14 will have up to32GB LPDDR5X RAM while the G16 has up to 64GB. Both versions will have a 2.5K OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 500 nits. Keeping the ROG Zephyrus laptops cool and quiet is the ROG Intelligent Cooling with the Vapor Chamber, Tri-Fan Technology, a liquid metal thermal compound, and specially designed exhaust vents.
ROG Flow Z13 (2025 model)

If a laptop is not portable enough for you, then the ROG Flow Z13 might be more your speed. The 2-in-1 gaming tablet has AMD’s new Ryzen AI Max chips that combine performance and power efficiency.
With up to 128GB of unified LPDDR5X 8000MHz RAM, gamers will have a lot of power in the tablet to run their games. Since there’s a lot of power in the tablet, the tablet has its own cooling system with a steel vapor chamber and 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans.
The ROG Flow Z13 has a 13.4-inch 2.5K ROG Nebula QHD+ display with a 180Hz refresh rate. As it is a laptop similar to the Microsoft Surface, the Z13 has a kickstand to give it a laptop feel as well as its RGB keyboard. It also has a 70 Wh battery that lasts up to 10 hours of usage.
2025 ROG Strix G700 series

ASUS didn’t forget those who don’t need a portable solution for their gaming needs and has a new series of desktops coming: the ROG Strix G700 series. The G700 is powered by either an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D or Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor. Handling the graphics are the NVIDIA RTX 50 Series Desktop GPUs. The G700 also supports up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and Gen5 PCIe to handle storage.
To keep the computer cool, the G700 has an air- and water-cooling setup that includes a quad-fan system. It also wouldn’t be a proper ROG desktop without RGB lighting and other designs to show off the hardware inside the desktop.
2025 ROG XG Mobile

If you're happy with your current setup but wish for some more graphics power, ASUS has a solution for you. The ROG XG Mobile is an external graphics card that takes performance and puts it in the smallest and lightest package ASUS has ever made that can plug right into a desktop or laptop.
The XG Mobile features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPUs that uses a Thunderbolt 5 connection. Keeping things cool is a copper vapor chamber that keeps temperatures low while making it lighter.
A hinge keeps the XG Mobile upright and on the sides are multiple connections including ports for HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, dual USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, and an SD card reader. ASUS also gave the XG Mobile a semi-transparent case to see what’s on the inside and its own RGB lighting.
