AMD RX 6600 XT Benchmark and Review
AMD engineered this new card specifically to deliver the “ultimate 1080p gaming experience.” A bold claim, and we’ll see if they can back it up with our benchmarks below!
The RX 6600 XT has some very impressive specifications with a base frequency of 1968MHz, 32 Compute Units & Ray Accelerators, 32 MB Infinity Cache, and 8GB of GDDR6 Memory. Truly impressive hardware for such a small GPU.
We used a PowerColor Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT for our benchmarks with pre-release drivers, so your experience and results may differ slightly.
For our benchmark build, we used an AMD 5900X, 32GB of RAM at 3200Mhz, and a 1TB M.2 SSD. Of course, this was all paired with the aforementioned Hellhound 6600XT. All in-game benchmarks were run at the highest graphics settings, disabling motion blur when it was available.
Based on these results, AMD backed up their claim of created a great GPU for 1080p gaming. As expected, it doesn’t have the power to offer a smooth gaming experience at 4k with max settings. However, it does surprisingly well running at 1440p in our test suite.
AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) technology was not available on the titles we tested, but more games are being added, and this will allow you to extract even more performance out of the 6600XT in the future.
So, PowerColor us impressed! AMD delivers great performance with the 6600XT, and this should be a solid entry point for people looking for a remarkable 1080p or even 1440p card.
