Intel’s latest generation of processors, the Core Ultra 200S Series, arrived in October of this year, shaking up the entire Intel lineup. Not only did the 200S Series overhaul the naming convention of Intel processors, it also came with a plethora of improvements and upgrades, making for a formidable processor no matter what you use it for.

The biggest addition is a new NPU, or Neural Processing Unit, for better performance in AI tasks. Built on Intel’s NPU 3 architecture, the Core 200S NPU is capable of performing up to 13 trillion operations per second (or TOPS). It's not just all AI, though, with great improvements in efficiency (up to a 32% uplift for E Cores over the previous generation) and an increased L3 cache, both of which translate to better gaming performance.
Not only is the Intel Core 200S a great lineup of processors, but right now you can also get a great deal on a Intel Core Ultra 7 265K at Micro Center. Save $120 if you just pick up a Core 7 265K processor, or grab a Z890 motherboard and take an additional $70 off. Not sure what to build with it? Read on for ideas for a great, mid-range gaming PC that makes the most of this incredible deal.
The Build:
Processor: Intel Core Ultra 7 265K
The heart of our build is, of course, the Intel Core Ultra 7 256K. With 20 cores, 20 threads and a large 36MB L2/30MB L3 cache, the Ultra 7 265K is ready to game. And, thanks to the new onboard NPU better regulating processes and temperatures, you’ll even see cooler temperatures while gaming -- up to 17°C! You can check out all the details over here. We’ll also be using a Corsair H100x RGB ELITE 240mm CPU Water Cooling Kit to keep our 265K cool.
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z890 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 Intel LGA 1851 ATX Motherboard
Gigabytes Z890 AORUS Elite WIFI7 is a great compliment for our Ultra 7 265K, as it will make the most of what the processor has to offer. With WIFI7 capabilities and plenty of space for high-speed RAM, you won’t be letting anything the 265K is capable of go to waste
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-6000
Having 32GB of RAM is quickly becoming the standard for gaming computers. G.Skill’s Ripjaws series is high-speed, high-quality RAM that you can depend on for your build, and with 6000MHz speeds, you’ll see some series power increases over previous generations.
Video Card: Zotac NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Twin Edge Overclocked Dual Fan 12GB GDDR6 PCIe 4.0 Graphics Card
NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4070 is a fantastic mid-range gaming GPU that can easily provide high-frame rate gaming up to 1440p and can even dip into 4K gaming. Whether you’re a solo gamer or always looking to jump into the latest esports titles with your friends, the 4070 Twin Edge from Zotac is ready to go.
Storage: Samsung 980 Pro SSD 2TB M.2
If you’re still gaming on an HDD in 2024, people are going to notice. With longer load times and much slower read/write speeds, your friends are going to wonder why it takes you so long to load in to Apex Legends. Don’t make them wait -- get an SSD. This 2TB from Samsung offers more than enough space to keep up with the latest and greatest games.
PSU: Corsair RM750e 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX Fully Modular Power Supply
Fully modular power supplies aren’t just about aesthetic, they can actually make your build easier to put together. Rather than fighting with a tangle of permanently connected cords the entire time, you get to choose which cables to use and when, making cable management easier and reducing the number of times you mutter “what cable was this again?” to yourself.
Case: Lian Li O11 Vision Tempered Glass ATX Mid-Tower Computer Case
What’s the point of a powerful PC build like this if you can’t show it off? The Lian Li 011 Vision features tempered glass on the top, front, and side of the case so it’s easier than ever to talk about your new, incredible Intel Core Ultra 7 265K build!
