Instead of trying to figure out what parts needed to be replaced, I thought it was a good time to just build an entire new PC from scratch. I built this mainly for gaming as I use a Macbook Pro for work and other day to day tasks. Given that this was my first build and I wasn't too confident, I did not want to spend a whole lot and just opted for the best bang for the buck I could get. So far it's been a beast and I plan on adding some Noctua fans in the future to quiet it down a bit and improve airflow.$1,359.92 -

Built this for someone who wanted the latest AM5 and they were upgrading from an old AM3 build which was almost 10 years old and wanted to build something to last just as long. Decided to use a AMD GPU to keep everything AMD and also stay below budget (as we did not plan to use NVIDIA's features like DLSS and RTX for the games they play). Built this PC because I was guilted by my friends to play Hell Divers II. My wife also needed a PC to do our taxes on every year. The goal was mild future proofing (the GPU is my Bottleneck) and escalated quite a bit from the original build scope thanks to the Ryzen 7 7700x bundle. I am able to play games at 1440 on high settings and 1080 ultra settings at a minimum of 65-80 fps. The original purpose was just to have a racing sim rig. The original goal was to play Counter-Strike, and now I play all kinds of games ranging from Valorant, Overwatch, Witcher, Red Dead, R6, etc. Something I would have done different in hindsight is getting a stronger processor, as even though I game at 1440p, a stronger processer with more cores would have been better for streaming and school work.$1,147.94 -

This gaming PC was made after a few of the family's windows laptops were damaged. We have a mac at home, but wanted a dedicated Windows PC at home. I used one of the Micro Center Intel bundles as the basis for the gaming build (The $250 one with the Core i5), then picked out parts to build on top of it. A good thing for my current budget was that I had various storage devices at hand for this build. I did decide to get the case elsewhere as I found an open box deal for a case that normally costs $100. I am happy with how things have turned out for this build. For upgrades, I plan on buying more sticks of ram to double the memory capacity and I am in the middle of getting be quiet case fans for the desktop as the case only had two pre-installed and were quite loud and rumbled a lot. I know the motherboard supports the current 14th gen cpu's, so I may do that whenever those go down in price. And if necessary, I might change the CPU cooler if the current $20 one craps out in the future.$772.92 -

I like the Fractal North case because you can just look at it and be pleased after a very expensive purchase decision. I wanted the inside to be blacked out since you can't really see the inside of your case all the time, and the only RGB I really want is the Geforce RTX logo from my graphics card. Decided to be conservative on the specs I go with, albeit the 7800 X3D bundle is too good to pass up. I wanted to save the rest of the money for a very nice (and expensive) QD-OLED monitor, preferably, something like the MSI MPG 321URX, which is sadly still not in stock. Other than that, Noctua fans keep my PC quiet without any annoying frequencies, which is useful since I use open-back headphones. 4 TB main drive should last for a while, and cover all my storage needs.$1,807.35 -

Built this AMD 8700G PC for coding and running programs that I need for my mad science lab, but looks like it will be my wife's PC instead. She will use it for general PC activities including some casual 1080p gaming (Secret World Legends, Entropia, and others that I don't know the names of). A few years from now, if her old Nvidia/Intel based gaming PC breaks down then I may overclock this one and/or add a video card, or maybe even drop in a new CPU. Am using the heat sink that came with the 8700G CPU, and during a bit of gaming the temp never got above 32 degrees C so I won't be upgrading to water cooling. I do many things with a pc(Play Games, Run LLMs, Write Code, ETC,)and I got sick of my old laptop(i5-10300H, GTX 1650 TI mobile, 8gb DDR4 2933mhz.) So I decided to build a brand new powerhouse, in which I am writing this right now. Now that I have built my own rig at this point, time to give you some advice. First and foremost, if you want the absolute best PTP(Price To Performance)PLEASE do not give in to any of those prebuilt pcs, they are built and sold for a profit(which I, in all means respect.)Like I got a 4070 TI Super and Ryzen 9 7950x3d, With the amount that I spent I could only get an i9-13900kf and 4070 TI from NZXT and from Build Redux I could only get a 4070 TI Super and 7950x with only 16gb ram(in NZXT and custom I got 32gb). Its a basic build I built around 1080p gaming and the 3080 Ti, whichwas a great all around performing GPU that I was able to pick up off one of my local marketplace from a private buyer. I then bought the MB/CPU/RAM/PSU combo off a friend who had upgraded to a newer platform. Since I didn't need anything new and this fit what I needed it for, I also found a H5 Elite case from a private seller on my local marketplace as well and came with a Corsair RM750. Was able to repurpose some SSD I had laying around and all these together to make a complete working PC. I've been playing FO76 mainly and some FFXIV here and there. But mainly this computer is mainly used for YouTube and catching up on web browsing when not working.$1,135.00 -
