The fact that I switched over from Xbox specifically for VR is hilarious. I will never buy another console. I sadly paid a scalper for my Strix 3090 because I did not want to wait for the unseeable future. Very happy to have the help of Greg and David to help build this monster! When I was younger I was an avid reader of gaming magazines. It was there I first noticed the "Extreme gaming Rig"... When I was younger I was an avid reader of gaming magazines. It was there I first noticed the "Extreme gaming Rig" giveaways. Despite my best efforts at winning what I thought was the pinnacle gaming experience. I was never able to win one for myself. Years went by and I started building budget systems. They got the job done but I was always anxious to jump into the next project. One day while I was planning out my next build and I saw this ridiculously over the top PC build on youtube. The type with an absurd amount of fans, RGB lighting, and a PSU large enough to power a small city. It brought me back to the lazy days when I was browsing through gaming magazines, signing up for anything with a free entry. I decided I had waited long enough; rearranged my budget and went to work. If I couldn't win that gaming PC I was going to build it. Chungus Ultra was born. At it's core it's a Gaming PC, but I use it's extra power to stand up VMs, RDP for my Apple stuff, and to send/receive phone calls. (I get Imessages on Windows through bluebubble server/app) and to a lesser extent control my Hue smart lighting. The system initially had an RTX 3080, and I recently upgraded to a 4090 Strix OC. I pulled out the old Corsair lighting and replace it with Lian Li Unifans (Corsair RGB cable management is a NIGHTMARE), and I'm looking to replace my DDR5 memory kit. I will be throwing in a 1200w ATX 3.0 PSU once it arrives (yay cable management!). In one of my pics the fans are reversed. I'm aware, I was testing something and they have been fixed.$7,209.52 -

And figured why not! I initially built this with a 7900x3d and decided to upgrade it to the 9800x3d since I had to flush out the system to change the fluids regardless. The whole process was a lot easier than I anticipated and was pretty straightforward. While I enjoyed the entire process, I will more than likely NOT do it again, as it's a bit of a pain in the butt to perform any type of maintenance on this thing lol.$6,987.75 -

This build was a replacement for my last build done approximately 4 years ago. I have always run with entry or low to mid... This build was a replacement for my last build done approximately 4 years ago. I have always run with entry or low to mid graphics card and sort of went budget not spending money that did not really give me a good bang for the buck. I decided I was going to get a 5090 and do a nice build, a dream build almost if you will. I spent the money and more importantly I put the work in to make sure I got a 5090. The build was all but done 2 weeks ago but was missing the 5090. Well, 24 hours outside of Microcenter, and I can happily say I was one of the few who didn't get in my car or leave in the 20-degree weather. I was lucky enough to be #4 and got myself an Aorus 5090. It was a crazy experience, made some new friends and had a great time despite having to put the work in. Overall, building this computer feels like it was so much more than just a computer build. It set the bar high for the next time I plan to do another build.$6,940.91 -
