I started off with a 700$ budget a couple years back in 2017 and had an alright PC with a 1050ti and a ryzen 5 1600, but I gradually gained money over time and saved up and eventually got the chance to upgrade parts one by one. Here I am now. Thanks to Microcenter for the fact that they literally have literally every computer part in the store. It is exciting every time I walk into there. It is such an amazing place for "geeks" like me honestly. I hope to definitely one day be able to afford a higher end GPU and hopefully make my setup and build look even better with more lighting mainly for the GPU, but at this time I can deal with what I have. Everything seems great, I can do my school work and multitask and game fine. On top of that I can stream well with consistent frames thanks to the new NVENC, but I am pretty sure my 3900x can handle streaming just as well.$2,339.36 -

I'm not a big fan of RGB and because I can never do thing the easy way, I decided to do a custom case mod. So I built a Honduran mohogany desk that also acts as the case for the pc. Honduran Mahogany is the most stable wood you can use for furniture from an expansion and stability standpoint. Currently as it stands now, I haven’t oiled it yet, which will come when soon. It’s only version one and because I’m obsessive, I’m going to likely be working on another very soon to make it even better. I’ve got through 4 desks in the past 2 years and after the first 3 just decided I had to do it myself. I also host an Apache web server on Ubuntu server on a separate machine, so v2 of this desk will a dual or triple motherboard configuration, much cleaner, and water cooled so I can allow for much lower clearance configurations. It took me many many hours of work and many late nights because my shop is 2 hours away so I have to maximize the time I spend there! I’m a professional consultant for big home projects during my day job, and it was nice to take some of that energy and put it into my own home project, which is something I don’t always get the chance to do. I usually play some VR titles, Rocket League, Destiny 2, Risk of Rain 2, No Man's Sky. The process was pretty simple. Installed CPU and heatsink into the Mother Board, as well as the ram, then set it down into the case. Bolted everything down then installed all of the other parts. The strip of lights in the case was from a bulk roll of 5050 LEDs that I cut and soldered the connections on to it. One RGB header goes to the LED strip, and the second one goes to the fan controller included with the case so that ASUS Aura sync can control everything. I also run an Oculus Rift S off of this rig, and it's handled everything quite well. This build could benefit from a newer GPU. I'm looking to probably upgrade the CPU to a Ryzen 7 3700x when the 4000 series hits stores and pushes the price down on the 3000s. I chose the AverMedia capture card over the usual ElGato. The AverMedia was on sale, so I got it for a steal, and it's extremely easy to use.$1,399.81 -

Built it mainly to play rust, putting 600 hours in before being burnt out. The i switched the Valorant with my friends, and I throw in some Call of Duty in. I'm planning on upgrading my ram and my monitor soon. I probably would have saved so more money, so that i could purchase a 2060 super with rgb. The gpu blocks a lot of light in my case.$1,066.44 -

I used to play on PS4 but wanted a better gaming experience. So I started saving and had enough for it in march and went to micro center to buy all the parts. everything was very easy to put together. I play competetive FPS games like Fortnite, Rainbow six, Valorant and CSGO. I get 144 FPS easily in all games on ultra settings. I also play games like GTA V and RDR2 which i get around 60 FPS in the open world and 100 FPS in buildings. One thing i would've done different is to of went with AMD over Intel for 6 cores and 12 Threads rather than 6C and 6TH. My upgrade would have to be a I9 9900K because its still a beast processor for gaming and content creation. I would also not have to upgrade my MOBO like i would a 10 series Intel or AMD CPU. Over all it is a very good gaming build not the best for streaming but i get good FPS for competitive games and have had no problems so far.$1,114.94 -
