Build Description

Working from home during the Covid-19, I got a bit bored and wanted play some games on my down time. I started playing some games on my Macbook pro as well on my Microsoft Surface Laptop. Didn't get far with my thousand dollar laptop. Was going to buy another laptop but then ended up reading and understanding about building a PC. This is my first build. The main purpose of building this pc was to play games like Watch Dog 2, Need for Speed Heat, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Call of Duty MW Warzone, GTA V, and many more. I also do a lot of construction design reviews using Autodesk programs such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Revits, Navisworks, and Bluebeam program. With the PC setup listed below, I've seen FPS between the range of 100 to 150s depending on the games I play. That's with no overclocking. I am using a Dell S3220DGF 32" Curve monitor that I later bought to replace my HP 25er monitor.

Favorite Feature

Best part is the RGB and the unnecessary fans I have!

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Matisse 3.6GHz 8-Core AM4 Boxed Processor with Wraith Prism Cooler
Qty: 1 $269.99
Highly recommended cpu for mid range gamers. If this is out of your budget, I would recommend Ryzen 5 3600x. Or if you want to step up a notch, I would recommend 3900x or 3950X.
MSI X570 MPG Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi AMD AM4 ATX Motherboard
MSI X570 MPG Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi AMD AM4 ATX Motherboard
Qty: 1 $264.99
Not the greatest motherboard. It’s a decent motherboard. This was the only available option at the time of build. There was not much options with purchasing other brand X570 motherboard at the time of my build. All retail stores were sold out. Now that a lot of retailer has other brands in stock, I would recommend going with Asus Tuf Gaming x570-plus (WiFi). I just bought the Asus motherboard for my 2nd build.

Sapphire Technology Radeon RX 5700 XT NITRO+ Overclocked Triple-Fan 8GB GDDR6 PCIe 4.0 Graphics Card

Sapphire RX 5700 XT Nitro (special edition) is my preference. Great FPS for gaming.

Qty: 2 $134.99
I started off with 32gb (2 x 16gb) Corsair vengeance RGB pro. I later bought another set of 16gb, making it a total 64gb in RAM. I thought it was a overkill and I ended up taking the 2 additional RAM out and saving it for my next build in 2 weeks.
Corsair Omega Spec
Qty: 1 $149.99
Decent case. Not the best airflow in the case. Oftentimes you can feel the heat on the temper glass produced by the GPU. Hot enough where it’ll make you jump when you touch it. Spend just a bit more and you can get yourself a Lian LI Dynamic (highly recommend)
Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL ROG eATX Mid-Tower Computer Case - White

Highly recommended case. Very good airflow and a lot of rooms for fans.
Seasonic USA Focus Plus 650 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX Fully Modular Power Supply
Seasonic USA Focus Plus 650 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX Fully Modular Power Supply
Qty: 1 $139.99
Great power supply. If your looking to save a bit, I recommend getting semi modular. There is no difference from my perspective. I bought fully modular just so I can plug my own ATX and CPU cables into the power supply.
Cooler Master ML360R
Qty: 1 $169.99
All I can say is that it’ll keep your CPU very cool! My CPU temperature is between 32 to 43 Celsius. And this is me after playing Call of Duty MW for 7 hrs straight. I am looking to go with liquid cooling for my GPU later down the road. That’ll be another topic later on. If you get the Ryzen CPU, it'll come with a factory heat sink. You don't need to buy it separately. Unless you go with Intel chipset, then yes you'll need to cough up a bit of money to get a heat sink.

Seagate BarraCuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA III 6Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
Qty: 1 $54.99
Very fast HDD. I store all of my games in this storage. Yes, I mean games like COD, NFS Heat, GTA and yes I play go live on these games and have no issue with them.
Samsung 860 QVO 1TB SSD 4-bit QLC V-NAND SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive
Samsung 860 QVO 1TB SSD 4-bit QLC V-NAND SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive
Qty: 1 $94.99
Don't ask why so many storage. I initally bought this for my Macbook pro when I was planning to swap my factory HDD over to this SSD. I never ended up doing that to my Mac and ended up dropping this into my PC.
Corsair Commander Pro
Qty: 1 $74.99
You will need to purchase the commander pro to hook all the additional fans. Max up to 6 fans per hub.
Corsair K95 Platinum XT Mechanical Keyboard
Qty: 1 $199.99
Very Smooth keyboard. Has a firm feedback when pressing the key.
Corsair LL120mm RGB Fan (Triple Pack)
Qty: 3 $125.99
I have a total of 7 Corsair LL120mm RGB fans installed. Save the last 2 for my next buid.
Corsair M65 Pro RGB Mouse
Qty: 1 $59.99
Nice smooth Mouse
Corsair RGB Hub
Qty: 2 $9.99
Each hub support up to 6 RGB fans.
Dell S3220DGF 32" Curve Monitor
Qty: 1 $429.99
It's a over priced monitor. I started with HP 25er for around $199.99. Honestly, i can't tell the difference between a $200 VS a $400 monitor.
Lian Li 011DXL-1 Air Vertical Kit
Qty: 1 $79.99
Additional accessory I bought to mount my GPU vertically. You don't need this if you have a tight budget.
