Mini-ITX All-AMD Gaming Build
by Maui B Posted on: 7/29/2020Build Description
My goal with this build was to make a small future-proof machine that I could stuff massive amounts of processing power down the line. This is used for schoolwork, gaming, and video editing. My hopes are to eventually upgrade the CPU and GPU, to show that I can cram at least a AMD 12-core + 2080ti into this small of a PC. At this point, the X570 board is a waste, but again, I plan to upgrade to 3rd gen Ryzen eventually. And yes, the blower graphics card is loud. Really loud. And hot. I also want to change the case out, maybe to a NR200 when that comes out, as well as put a custom loop on it (?).
The RAM and fan configs have changed over time, but it always has been 16gb.
One thing I really regret is getting the Vega 64. I have experienced awful artifacting and coil whine. Although the latter is inevitable, the artifacting was probably caused by my terrible undervolting skills. At times, it idles at 85 degrees Celsius. As I live in a small room with close to no air conditioning, my room easily gets up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit when the PC is on. If I were to do something different about this build, it would most certainly be to avoid Vega. But hey, it's a decent performing card!

Favorite Feature
My favorite part of this build is probably the size. Although I know that I am losing some VRM quality by going ITX, but I just love the idea of a small and portable, yet capable machine.A second thing that I enjoy is that my winters are easy with this guy around. My room doesn't really have reliable heating, but when my computer is on, it's nice and warm :)
