This is my rig, there are many like them but this one yet this one is mine

Build Description

I work, study, and game with my rig. If I can run Doom Eternal in 4k, then it's going to have enough resources for everything else I intend to do. Most of the components were purchased from Microcenter at one time. If they weren't from MicroCenter it's only because it wasn't available. Both displays were purchased from MicroCenter. The LG C9 being my main monitor was recently picked up very recently, the 42 inch secondary vertical display was purchased a while ago from the same MicroCenter that I’ve gone to for over a decade and a half!
The case you see is SilverStone RVZ03, I replaced the RGB's from 12v non-addressable to 5v addressable RGB going into a Corsair Commander Pro. I put some diffusion paper in the front part of the case so the lights in front don’t fry my retinas when in the dark. Stock, it was just a strip in the front, with some work I have that running in the top and the bottom. Added some red paint to the sides in front and cut out a hole for a type C port going into that Gen 2 header on my board. Due to the compact nature of the case, cable management is done on a best-effort basis.
I gotta give a shout-out for my pal over at jmmods.com for the frosted acrylic fan grills. Recent upgrade from a solid acrylic recently which looked good as well. That 120mm grill you see in the pics is over my i7 8700k, below that is one of 3 Corsair LL120 fans. Despite the tight clearance of 83mm, the Cryorig C7 cooler being 47mm + 25mm for the fan leaves me just 9mm of clearance. The remaining two fans are over my RTX2070. The RGB’s in the center of all 3 Corsair LL120’s are used to monitor CPU and GPU temp.
The motherboard (Asus Z370-i) was originally purchased at MicroCenter yet had to be RMA'ed. Good guy ASUS came through on this trouble ticket and sent me their Z390-i as a replacement. I was shocked, elated, flabbergasted, and despite how hard I looked I could not find a reason to object. Especially after I confirmed that it worked. I could go on about what motivated the purchase for each individual part, yet I don’t have enough available characters in this form to do so. Most recent upgrade is the WD SN750 1TB upgrade. It was a necessary jump from my original 256GB NVME stick, the same day I also upgraded to a 32GB kit to a Corsair Vengance LPX DDR4 3200 RAM originally 16GB because MicroCenter had a sick deal going on!
In terms of my regrets relating to my rig is the lack of an i9 9900k coupled along with my lack of knowledge of CAD and 3d printing. In order to water cool this system somethings will have to be cut. Many things would have to be cut to be honest. At that point an AIO is not practical and a custom loop would be preferable. I’d prefer custom length cables from my Enermax 650 Revolution SFX power supply. I started by adding a pair of external fitting adapters on the back of the case because I am serious about a custom water-cooling solution. Getting from Point A to Point B is a task in of itself. In the timeline where I have this knowledge and tools: I want to rebuild the base for two purposes, to make it more sturdy and to accommodate a distribution plate, drainage port, pump, radiator, and 360mm radiator and fans to properly water cool this machine at the bottom.
For the time being with it being airflow-centric it gets the job done. If I have to re-design a portion of my case to accommodate water cooling in the way I want, I may as well get an adapter to utilize the available PCIE lane on the back of the board to add an additional card like maybe a capture card.

Favorite Feature

Portability, uniqueness, the fact that despite the work this is one of very few cases where I have yet to injure myself working on it.
