How to switch to a Microsoft Account in Windows 8.1

Description: This article will show you how to switch your sign-in account on a Windows 8.1 PC from a Local Account to an existing Microsoft Account.

  1. Swipe in from the right side of the screen while on the desktop view or press the Windows Key and C at the same time. Click on Settings in the lower right corner.

  3. Click on Accounts.

  4. Under Your Account, click on Connect to a Microsoft Account.

  5. Type in your Local Account Password and then click Next.

  6. Type in your Username and Password for your existing Microsoft Account and then click Next.
