I decided that I did not want to spend money on a pc so I went to facebook marketplace and Letgo where over the course of the last few months I was able to get free pc parts from various different sellers. So the following pictures and parts are the culmination of my work of collecting free PC parts that I will eventually turn into my own server. The CPU and motherboard are from an old Lenovo Erazer prebuilt PC. I plan to add more hard drives so that it can function as a true server.$0.00 -

Started using Plex for streaming personal media but filled up the 8TB external HDD pretty quick! Figured this was the perfect opportunity to get into the world of servers. I wanted something that was SFF, dead silent, had plenty of HDD bays, and still looked good to set on my desk. Didn't like the look of the Node 304 or NR200 but when the SSUPD Meshlicious came out, I knew I could make it unique and exactly what I wanted. Decided to upgrade my gaming rig during this process and use those parts for the server or buy used. Server GPU was omitted since I have my own gaming rig which can handle heavy duties if necessary. Check out both rigs in the last photo! Using unRAID has been a great choice of server OS and an amazing learning tool to get into servers! Since it's used primarily for Plex by my family, drives are spun down most of the time. Plex libraries are split up into different drives allowing for a single HDD spin up at a time depending on the movie/show. The system remains dead silent, even when 1 or 2 drives are in use. Currently have 3x 18TB Seagate Exos HDDs and 6x 6TB Seagate Ironwolf HDDs. Noise and thermals have been a non-issue. Even during 24-hour data transfer to all drives at once, HDDs never hit above 38 degrees. Incredibly happy with the way it came out and couldn't recommend the SSUPD Meshlicious enough as an insanely versatile and beautiful SFF case! Custom Mods: - Created a 3x triple HDD sled system within the GPU chamber for a capacity of 9x HDDs. Drives mounted using 3/8" foam material as vibration dampeners. Each HDD sled has 0.125" clearance between each other allowing airflow. Sleds are bottom-mounted w/ screws and friction magnetic mounted on top with absolutely no wobble without being turned completely 90 degrees. Able to unscrew from the bottom of the case and slide out the top for ease of adding HDDs. - Thermalright AXP-90I w/ Noctua NF-A12x15 Chromax installed using custom 1mm steel rod. - 4x Arctic P8 PWM PST CO in rear HDD chamber using magnetic tape. - 8600k delidded (9900k delidded for gaming rig). - Corsair SF600 Gold w/ Noctua NF-A9x14 fan swap (Corsair SF750 Platinum for gaming rig). - Painted custom hardware matte black. - Added RGB last minute for extra server fps! I got this HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop a year ago, well I know OEM rebuilt is very bad but because I need a computer with good specs that can run AAA games but there was no option than buying a rebuilt that time because GPU price was sky rocket high. The build has a 1660 Super with Ryzen 5 4600G (Ryzen 5 3600), it decent for 1080p gaming with medium-high settings. After a year, the computer works fine and really well, all I need is better power supply because it only 400w and new ram (it having 2x4gb 3200mhz ddr4) because recommended ram nowadays is 16gb, and I can see it myself that sometime I get some lag spikes. But this prebuilt HP is not easy to upgrade since the motherboard and power supply are OEMs, it has different design from normal custom build, so I have to get rid of the case, motherboard, power supply and get a new one and put the gpu, cpu, ram and storage in the build. I also have 512gb + 256gb ssd so I don't really need a storage upgrade.$306.95 -

I built this computer mainly to play games with my friends, as my old Dell Vostro couldn't hold up anymore, even to basic tasks. I mainly play Minecraft, Roblox, and occasionally Apex Legends. Now thinking about it, I definitely would have gotten a better graphics card, as I got it right before the prices spiked up and could have gotten a better deal. I also would have gotten a graphics card without a blower style fan, as my graphics card runs LOUD.$346.96 -

Made this build for a friend in order for him to play fighting games with discord open at a tight budget. Had to work around the budget but honestly came out better than expected. It was able to run warzone which was the most surprising part of the build. I eventually upgraded the gpu to a 1650 super but I like the original build as it was a decently powerful build for a cheap price.$457.92 -

It all started out with a smol dual-core Pentium, 4GB of ram, and a Strix 1050 Ti. Over the years, I have been slowly upgrading the components like the CPU, motherboard, ram, storage, and swapped out the first GPU for my brother's old 1060. I mainly use my computer for games such as Valorant, Overwatch, and RS2: Vietnam. Currently, I am looking forward to get some major upgrades for my PC over the holidays. I've been eyeing the RX 6700 XT to eventually do some 1440p gaming and swapping out my case and old PSU. I may also get a small CPU upgrade if that R5 3600 bundle is still available.$469.97
