I built this as a new personal PC build since I sold my old personal build recently. I use it to play games like Minecraft, Genshin, League, Valorant, etc., and use it for CAD projects. If I were to do things differently I would've gotten the white version of the graphics card but nonetheless the PC has satisfied my expectations. I also only paid around $500 for the system which satisfies my budget expectations.$514.99 -

Then was able to get other parts for a pretty good price. The only thing I needed to buy used was the 3060 Ti Founders edition, which I found for only 150 on my local marketplace, thought it was a pretty good deal and will be playing mainly in 1080p anyways.$569.99 -

My daughter wanted a better computer and since she helps me upgrade mine from time to time she wanted to build her own. We told her if she could keep it around 500.00 budget we'd help her, so we scoured forums and youtube videos for less expensive builds. We found Toasty Bros there, and they in turn directed us to microcenter where we found a very nice cpu/motherboard/ram combo. with the combo and new case we came in around $570. She got her wish and I got a great father-daughter moment to cherish the rest of my life. :D$574.95 -

This pc has served me well over the years and has received numerous upgrades since its inception. I play a lot of CS2 so I have upgraded the ram to 32 gb to improve my 1% lows. It’s pretty remarkable that this old 1070TI can still handle pretty much anything I throw at it, which is why I continue to support NVIDIA even in troubling times.$590.95 -

This build was 100% motivated by a random impulse purchase at my local Microcenter. I noticed that the newest gen from Intel (13th gen) now had an i3 quad core (4 cores, 8 threads) available and the price at Microcenter was only $99. I decided to grab it and see how much it would bottleneck an older RX 5600 XT that I had going unused. Turns out, the answer is "not at all!"$593.93 -

When I saw that the new Intel i3 13100 was available at mircocenter, I couldn't help but to upgrade. Right now I'm using this machine for everything BUT gaming. The reason for this is that I plan to acquire a 3060 Ti graphics card in the coming weeks to fully round out the new build. But for now, I'm up and running without it. One thing that turned out not so great was the color scheme I was going for. I noticed that all-white components tend to cost more for some reason, so I talked myself into buying some parts that looked mostly gray online. This was a mistake, because inside a white case, all the gray parts all pretty much look completely black.$680.94 -

He had never built a PC before, and his $400 laptop bought for schoolwork would not cut it. He gave me a budget of $700 and already had a monitor and accessories. Now, I could have just bought the parts himself but I instead decided to indoctrinate him into the world of PC building! I took him to the micro center, helped him find the parts, and taught him what everything did. When it came to building the PC he did everything himself with my guidance, and in the end he had a great PC he was satisfied with. Now we play Helldivers and Deep rock together along with other friends. This PC would not be possible without Microcenter's CPU bundles. This gaming PC was made after a few of the family's windows laptops were damaged. We have a mac at home, but wanted a dedicated Windows PC at home. I used one of the Micro Center Intel bundles as the basis for the gaming build (The $250 one with the Core i5), then picked out parts to build on top of it. A good thing for my current budget was that I had various storage devices at hand for this build. I did decide to get the case elsewhere as I found an open box deal for a case that normally costs $100. I am happy with how things have turned out for this build. For upgrades, I plan on buying more sticks of ram to double the memory capacity and I am in the middle of getting be quiet case fans for the desktop as the case only had two pre-installed and were quite loud and rumbled a lot. I know the motherboard supports the current 14th gen cpu's, so I may do that whenever those go down in price. And if necessary, I might change the CPU cooler if the current $20 one craps out in the future.$772.92 -

I had an (probably 10 years) old computer that I built and have been using it daily ever since. At two separate points throughout it's lifecycle, I made two massive upgrades - 1) going from an HDD boot drive to an SSD, and 2) upgrading the video card from one that was mid-range at the time of installation to a modern mid-range card. The video card upgrade was probably 3-4 years ago. Now that I am permanently remote in my day job, I get to spend an enormous amount of time on sitting at my computer. With new lines of CPUs having just been released, I figured now was as good of time as any to do a full, much-needed rebuild of my daily PC. I work on my computer for the full day, every day, and work on side projects (web development, writing, etc.) in the evenings. I do some gaming, but haven't really had a capable machine to really enjoy it in many years. With that, I am many years behind on PC games, so I don't need to play the latest and greatest. With that, and a budget, in mind, I built the whole system from the ground up, but decided to reuse the existing video card. GPU prices are ever-so-slightly beginning to come down, so I thought I'd wait a bit to buy one while catching up on the past 6-8 years of games I haven't been able to play.$869.93 -

I posted some synthetic benchmark scores in the images for reference if anyone is considering getting the A770. If most of the games you play are newer DX12 titles then the A770 is legit. I built this PC for general purpose usage (web browsing, image editing, software development, maybe some light gaming, etc). I'm pretty happy with it overall. My only complaint might be that I can hear the fans quietly whirring when the room is quiet, but I suppose that's to be expected with a mesh case, and it's not really an issue. I will probably add a couple of HDDs from my old computer for additional storage, but the 1TB SSD is plenty of space and super fast. If I decide to get into PC gaming in the future, I will upgrade the graphics card when prices come down; but the T600 seems more than adequate for general usage.$939.93 -

My last rig must had gotten damaged pins on the mobo. Either way it motivated and scared me into not only getting another rig but making one with thermals as the top priority. Now I wish I had more money at the time for a beefier mobo when I had bought this but the combo is beautiful. Works better than expected. I call this build babyboy because building it woke me up even more. It was the the last push to my evolution as a dweeb. My goals become easier to follow. Building motivated me into building more. To not feel like going in my pc is daunting. It took a depressed and nearly checked out of life veteran and turned him into the kid that didn't worry about the worst life has to throw at them. Sorry anyway. Baby boy has made me dig deeper into my studying as I want to make my own Aio for a pc and even delve into engineering because I love the void that creation brings. It robs me of negative focus and gives me back passion. My PC's were always powerful and the trend continues. I am getting familiar with 3d software, mainly unreal. Working on a hard scifi novel that I might just pass to my friend to make into a video game. He loved the idea he will be graduating for programming soon. My gift to him is going to be a high powered machine. For all of his programing needs a rig on par or better than anything i can own. The things I love for the people I love. Babyboy Harkens me back to a time where I was a dorky a** black kid growing up in harlem getting bullied for "acting white" 😪 , up into my time in the infantry and even beyond where constantly get targeted for the same thing by more so the opposite of my childhood bully types. (Sorry for being vague). As you can maybe tell I think way too much. I spend alot of time in chatrooms not because I like them anymore. It's because I can generate heat better than Dominick Mysterio when I'm online. I have a Army of people who hate me on the internet and it's honestly how I get better now n days. I constantly have people discouraging me, trying to drag me down, dehumanize me, feels like the military but with folks I can't punch in the face. That oddly enough has been my source of fuel. People telling. Me I'm worthless and can't. LOL For me it's the best fuel ever. Over the course of two years my aptitude for math, science, has skyrocketed, I have built a reputation in some of the most toxic circles you can find online as a guy you should hate for no good reason at all. I love it. Computers have alot to do with this. This was what I thought about while doing my build. You get where I'm going? This experience was therapeutic for me and eye opening into who I am as a human. Babyboy helped freed a chained man. In a sense by giving me even more confidence to tackle things. For a build that was suppose to replace my i9 9900k rig. It did more than that. It set up another stage of metamorphosis. The recluse in me let's a bit too much out at times : [ sorry. As for the build. It was meant for general use. But if you seen my setup you would maybe understand i use it for much more, such as development. C++ and python coding, btw my first ever code written was program that identified your compiler written in c++, my second was a gpt 2 based learning model (in python)that same night. Now I didnt have AI help me with the second code, but still I was pretty happy with myself. I would like to animate and make a game with my best friend from those times of me getting bullied as a kid. A rpg game based in hard science. Something that gives off "three body problem" vibes. I also need to learn how to design prototypes. Like maybe some thing for the cooler I want to make. For example. 32 gb of ram even at ddr5 i feel limited in unreal engine. So I will go for possibly 128 gb over time. So a 64gb kit is in my future, then another. Next month I'm getting a 4 tb m.2 for Unreal engine alone and another for productivity needs. I have a 4 tb system now. As far as what I could have done differently. I should have gotten the h9 elite case as it has rgb fans and a controller. But pretty much the same exact case I have. I'm gonna also repair my old mobo if possible and if I can do it right, my nephew who is studying computer science but using a idohan spud will have a power relic of the 9th gen coming his way. I loved what this build did for me. It was more than just a pc build. It was as much a window or veiwport into myself, just as this summary of the build experience was. Sorry for taking that so far. I don't know how to not go 100% at times. Sorry for any typos and such. Big hands, small phone, you know the deal. I'll try to edit if possible. THANKS 😊$971.95 -

Here’s a breakdown of why I chose each component and how it contributes to my setup: Gaming. I enjoy a variety of games, from AAA titles to indie gems. Some of my current favorites include "The Witcher 3," "Cyberpunk 2077," "Overwatch," "Fortnite," and "Minecraft." These games demand a solid GPU and CPU to run smoothly, and my setup handles them quite well. 3D Printing. I use software like Blender, Fusion 360, and Tinkercad for designing my 3D prints. The i7-6700 CPU provides the necessary processing power to handle complex 3D modeling tasks without lag. Programs like Cura and PrusaSlicer are essential for converting 3D models into printable files. My GTX 1060 GPU accelerates the slicing process, making it faster and more efficient. Here are the parts and why I got them in this build: CPU: i7-6700 at 3.4GHz- Chosen for its strong performance in both single-threaded and multi-threaded tasks, which is essential for both gaming and 3D modeling. GPU: GTX 1060-6Gb- Provides excellent performance for gaming at 1080p with high settings and is also capable of accelerating rendering tasks in 3D software. 16GB Ram- Sufficient for multitasking, running multiple applications, and handling large 3D models without any slowdown. Storage: 256Gb SSD + 1 Tb HDD - The SSD ensures fast boot times and quick access to frequently used applications, while the HDD offers ample storage for games, large 3D model files, and other media. I boot with Windows 11 for its latest features, compatibility with a wide range of software, and enhanced security measures. By sharing the details of my build and its purposes, I hope to provide insight and inspire others in the community who might have similar interests. Whether you're a fellow gamer or a 3D printing enthusiast, let's engage and discuss the best ways to get the most out of our rigs!$974.96 -

Had a budget of around $800, and got a SUPER SOLID rig. Micro center had great deals with their bundles and got a killer deal! Built it in 2022 during the chip shortage~ higher price but I needed to build a editing PC with gaming in mind. It's a mid-range build that can handle 1440p gaming in high-ultra settings and crazy rendering speed whenever I export 4K projects or create proxy files. It may not be ideal for some, may not be top of the line, but, it works well for me. Planning on putting it off the ground when i have more desk space, hence it's above the carpet with a wooden board to add some protection from dust.$1,049.93 -

I'm still missing a couple of more fans on top of the case for more exhaust and 2 fans on the radiator so I can have a push and pull system. But otherwise very satisfied with my first build. That final price is a little bit higher than what I paid for because of the 3-1 bundle I got from MicroCenter for my MBD, CPU, and RAM but I think this will hold me over for a long time. I’m planning on streaming a lot of games and growing my gaming channel but my end goal is to eventually start doing some freelance work so that I can start turning this investment into a profit. I wanted something that I wouldn’t need to upgrade, for a good price, and I think I accomplished that very well. Built this by myself and was surprised at how simple it was, everything was mostly plug and install. All I did was make sure I took my time and I did the proper research if I wasn't sure of something. A very fun process for sure and really cool to learn about all the different components to a computer that you probably wouldn’t know unless you built a PC for yourself. Scalping for parts was another fun experience for me, I enjoyed looking for the best part available for the right prices and if I decided to build another PC, I would definitely pay more attention to the dimensions and clearances of the cases before buying my parts. As far as budgeting goes if you are starting from scratch I would 100% recommend you buy the MicroCenter bundle just make sure that they have it wherever you are going to get it from. It's the best deal you can get for really good parts and you won't have to worry about those parts being compatible. With the MBD, CPU, and RAM out of the way next step is picking out your graphics card and my advice is to go with the best you can get right now so you don't need to worry about any future upgrades but a lot of it depends on where the market is. If you really need help look for it on the r/buildapc, there you can find a lot people who share information on pretty much anything related to building a PC. I was able to get my 3060 Ti for ~$330 on amazon, this is probably where you should spend a majority of your money for your build especially if you are trying to build a gaming rig. Next thing on the list is the cooling for your CPU and the case I plan to install 7 fans total for my case (2 exhaust on top, 1 fan in the back, and 4 on my radiator in the front) definitely overkill but case fans are very cheap and you can find good deals on bundles everywhere. For the CPU cooler I'd suggest an AIO, there are a ton on the market, just look for one that fits within your price range and is compatible with your CPU and case and go for it, I wanted to install mine on the top of my case which is pretty standard but there wasn't enough clearance in my case so I had to move it to the front which works just as well. If you do go with an AIO make sure you do your research on the correct ways to install it so that you can extend the life of your cooler for as long as possible. Getting into the storage of the device again it'll depend heavily on how many slots your case/motherboard comes and where the market is at the time but I started off with one 1TB NVM.e M.2 SSD for now because storage is very easy to install and upgrade later on. I'd stick to at least one 1TB NVM.e M2 SSD as a bare minimum they are the fastest drives right now, very small, and quick to install. The final part to your build should be the PSU, I got a gold standard 700W PSU which is enough for my build but could be different for yours just look up a PSU wattage calculator online and they'll let you know what's the right amount for your build. The gold certified PSUs are not cheap but from everything I read are very much worth the price just because of how important the PSU is too your entire build, it can also draw power more efficiently saving you a bit of money on your electric bill which is nice. Again this is only my first build and I'm just sharing what I learned from this entire process and my best advice to anyone like me is: take your time, don't force anything if you have to wait it out, just wait it out. Right now is a great time to build beacuse of how cheap the parts are getting but always be careful of what you are buying and who you are buying it from. Some of the sites that helped me out a lot while I was building was pcpartpicker, userbenchmark, microcenter, newegg, and reddit (r/buildapc). Took me some time to get everything aligned together but that is because you always want to make sure you are getting the best quality and value out of your parts so don't stress it just keep it simple go one by one until you get the results you want and as long as you are keeping track of everything it should get easier as you continue going.$1,076.91 -

I haven't really gamed much in the past. However, recently I've been into story-ish type games, like Jedi Fallen Order, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Guardians of the Galaxy, but I've also enjoyed puzzle games as well like The Talos Principle and Portal 2. I also enjoyed Control, even if I played it with the sound off to keep it less creepy :) If you noticed in the build, there isn't a graphics card... I upgraded to this desktop from a laptop with a 1650Ti, but have been using GeForce Now to play games in the meantime until graphics cards become available/more reasonable in price. Hopefully I don't run out of fun things to play in the meantime... In hindsight, I may have gone a bit overkill with a 12600k/Z690/D15s build... time will tell. Thankfully, I stalked and bought almost everything on sale so hopefully didn't overpay way too much. Eventually, I might pick up a small/tasteful amount of RGB, but I'm a little leery of losing performance/having lags due to RGB software as I've heard horror stories.$1,088.85 -

I wanted to be a good all around PC with an emphasize on gaming. I've been a console guy, but I've been wanting to play some PC only games like BeamNG, Civ, City Skylines, Terraria, and trying my hand with iRacing. I have also rediscovered Minecraft since my only experience with it was on integrated graphics. Bought and built this to primarily play games and to finally have a machine that can handle all current gen title games at 1080p. Games like Apex Legends and Halo Infinite all hold a framerate well above 144hz at the highest graphic settings with no problems as well as keeping cool. This computer also allowed me to be able to record my gameplay in high quality using OBS thanks to NVIDIA'S nvenc encoder in part to the 3060 RTX. Video editing programs such as adobe premiere also run well to edit footage together to create youtube compilations of the many games I play. Eventually upgraded the storage on the computer with SSD drives which was easy due to the microATX motherboard being in a ATX size case for ease of building as well as the case having drivebays on the back panel of the computer.$1,137.92
