I started this this summer, but was buying parts as my budget allowed. I saved tons by buying RAM, cooling, and CPU used... I started this this summer, but was buying parts as my budget allowed. I saved tons by buying RAM, cooling, and CPU used online. I also managed to find an Aorus Master for $110, which was a steal, even though it doesn’t have CPU OCing. I didn’t want to go too crazy with RGB, but when you keep your lighting at white, blue, and purple, it looks pretty slick, and not like something a 10-year-old drew. I haven’t gotten three of the fans yet, but my temps are honestly doing just fine without them, and I love the NZXT cooling, because it keeps my temps low without being too loud. I’ve been using this for CAD, some 4K gaming at relatively high settings(the GPU is doing fine), programming(hence the i9 and 32GB of RAM), and work/online school. No problems, except that I was considering going for the pricier 6950(which is $200 more expensive, but has 150% the performance of the 6750), and I might eventually upgrade my GPU. Also, the SSD is the slowest m.2 SSD on the market, but it’s still faster than most HDDs, and it was $30. If I were to do it again, I would go for a Samsung SSD for maybe $60, with much better performance. I don’t mind the SSD too much, though.$1,397.91 -

The problem I created is that the rest of my old, 7th gen Intel build ended up being a sever bottleneck to the performance I should have been getting from the 6750 XT. Consequently, I pretty much replaced everything else in the build so that I could have a machine that complimented the video card, not weigh its performance down. So far, so good! I posted my previous build before saying I would upgrade some parts, but I went ahead and replaced mostly everything. I went from a Ryzen 5 3600 to and Intel 17-12700k. This processor is freaking nuts. Micro had a bundle sale on it with a Z690 Tuf motherboard and ram. Continuing on, I went from an UpHere air cooler to the Lian Ali Galahad. This aio works wonders with this cpu, 75 degrees and high loads, 30 resting. I also went from 6600xt to a 6750xt. For 100 dollars more, it's worth every cent. It just performs so well with games in general. I average 124fps on high settings with 2k res on Hogwarts. I added 16gigs of more Ram for multitasking purposes, it also looks better with all four films filled up. Lastly, I added a mini monitor for temps and whatnot. I generally got it cause it looks cool. It does have high res tho!$1,598.88 -

Once I built it though I got into gaming pretty quickly and I’m having a lot of fun playing halo mostly but also some valorant. I absolutely want to go with custom water cooling within the next couple of months but I think before I do I want to change the case to an nzxt H9, this case is a little small for that at the moment. I changed the theme pretty often at first but I think I’ve settled on this one that was inspired by namor from wakanda forever as you can see from the pops. Those cable combs you see should be gold but the blue lights make that hard to see.$1,476.92 -

Specifically, I had temps on my 5800x that were quite frankly unacceptable, often spiking over 90 degrees C while under heavy load from a video editing application. The Arctic Liquid Freezer II is one of the best reviewed cpu coolers and has made a significant positive impact on the cooling for this build. One thing I learned through this process is that there is more than one revision of the Ryzen 7 5800x cpu. Many online review sites demonstrate newer revisions of the 5800x run a cooler temperatures and at a lower power draw. So looking back on my purchases, I wish I had specifically bought only the newer revision of the 5800x.$2,044.92 -

I've been waiting to build a new pc for a while and with all the black friday deals I jumped for it. As someone who hangs onto there computer for a while I built this with upgradability in mind. I was really impressed with the socket life of AM4 and hoping to get at least 2 more generations of CPUs for AM5 (Zen6). I realistically see myself upgrading my monitor (1080p 144hz) in the next 1-2 years and will probably upgrade my GPU around the same time. Since I'm still using 1080p and gddr7 coming out at some point in the future on top of the crazy priced new GPU's I thought getting the RX 6750 XT would be a good option for my setup without going too overkill. Whenever AM5 hits end of life I see myself upgrading my CPU again like how people right now are dropping in Zen 3 into there older builds.$1,328.94 -

This was completed in July 2021. I wanted to create my first hard line tubing build, and wanted to try to make rgb look... This was completed in July 2021. I wanted to create my first hard line tubing build, and wanted to try to make rgb look good. So I went with a minimalist color palette to let the rgb shine, among the black, nickel, and clear components. I also wanted to try a vertical gpu mount, which lead me down the path of creating 3d printed parts as the stuck mount was unappealing to me. I also have included my fiber 10gbit nic behind the gpu, another factor that influenced my vertical bracket design. Lian Li provides the 3d model for my case freely, which made the prototyping phase much faster. In hindsight I wish I had incorporated a modification to the top cover plate to allow greater airflow, the system can get quite toasty with a few games like Cyberpunk. I work from home and game on the same pc, so I don't have any channel or such to promote.
