It's paired with an RTX 4080 GPU for the ability to handle 4K graphics. My original plan was to get an RTX 4090, but its performance gain per dollar is not as great compared to an RTX 4080. It was the right choice. This build is enough to run all modern games in 4K while maintaining a respectable 120 FPS+.$2,859.94 -

I don't do much gaming anymore, but my old build was 2015, and I literally could not play some of the more recent games even if I wanted to. The old build was still fine for most day-to-day stuff and I wanted another build that would go the distance. So here we are. My first build was 1998, and PC components have come a long way. I wanted something that could run Cyberpunk at 2k on max settings and still get over 60 FPS. I wanted something that I could hook up a top tier VR headset to without worries. The Lian Li components are super good, but they don't have great software support. Mostly, I would say that they are first rate components with second rate software running them. It often resets, and I can't update because of their file servers (or lack thereof). The Lian Li case is superb. The strimmer lighting looks great and is customizable. The CPU cooler is where the RGB software could be better. Even with the great cable management, the back of that case is STUFFED with cables, Lian Li USB controllers, internal USB hub. The fact that I put a RAID 10 SSD array in there didn't help with space. It seems like no mater what improvements are made with cable management, I'll find a way to fill it with cables! I was going with an ASUS 4080, but it was out of stock when I went to the store, so I settled for the Zotac. It's fine, but the RGB is about 3 years behind the RDG in the rest of the box. Even though it was 1200 bucks, I won't hesitate to return it if the 4080 super comes out in time. I may replace it with a 5000 series in a couple of years. My background is scientific computing, and this PC is about on par with the number of threads and memory that was in $20K servers I was using in 2010. I really like that it's super quiet, even with 6 fans. When its running full blast, its makes half the noise that my 2015 does. I'll probably try DnD next...but then will go back to checking my email! This PC specs out in the top 1% in Passmark. But 1% is a huge number of builds. Maybe next time I go ThreadRipper and Nivida XX90!$3,655.81 -

Along with anything else I may need to do on a computer. The future upgrades I see coming is adding the Lian-Li strimmer's for the 24 pin and 12 pin, and maybe 32 GB more of DDR5 ram. It's mainly built for gaming but light workloads too as I do work from home sometimes. My GF does art and makes stickers and plan on adding a lot of these as the time comes (also have ideas in mind for a distro block and custom loops). This is built with the Gamdias Neso P1 case, I wanted something that was a bit different as this does flip to its side for what is basically the coolest toaster oven ever. As far as games, I play a lot of OW, Halo, Sea of Thieves, and many of the great single player games that are out there (Cyberpunk, FFXV, Starfield ect). Not entirely done but the system is up and running, and it's FAST! RTX GIGABYTE 4080 Eagle with the Ryzen 7700x make for an excellent pair, combined with PBO and modest OC on the GPU, it has toppled everything I've thrown at it. Case is great, plenty of space for even the largest card and tooless entry makes it a breeze to build in. Excited to see where this all takes me!$2,384.94 -

I knew from the moment I found out it existed that my next upgrade would use the Fractal North case. I also knew that this next upgrade would be white, since my previous build of 5 years was black. Not by choice mind you, but by budget and by what micro center had in stock at the time. I specifically wanted to get into 4k, which the 4080 accomplishes. Its a mostly competent gaming build with plenty of room for high-end performance under any load. I spend plenty of time playing games, as well as working with Adobe products and Unity. I also enjoy the fact that I can get away with recording my gameplay while guaranteeing a smooth gaming experience as well. Out of the box, getting this bad boy built was a struggle, and I even ran into a major problem with the 4080 not fitting! Thankfully, I was able to get a vertical PCIe mount for it and everything fit just fine. This was also my first build with an AIO which was definitely a shaky experience. I debated whether or not to go for the 4090, but since I wasn't planning on gaming in 4K, I went with the 4080. I bought it at around MSRP and even still it was the most expensive part in this whole build. I had an issue out of the box with the CPU temperatures. I knew Intel chip temperatures weren't so great, but under 100% load, I was hitting around 90+ Celsius - even 100c! However, after reseating my AIO, updating the BIOS, and undervolting my CPU, I am pleased to say I am only getting 83c MAX at 100%. The case is probably my favorite part of this whole build. I did not want to skimp out on the RGB, as you can tell, and I think it paid off! I am in love with the Infinity Mirror design in the front of the case. Too many times I see the exact some front in gaming PCs. It's either RGB fans and meshes, which I think look awful, or a solid panel, which isn't too bad, but the infinity mirror blows them all away!$2,752.85 -

I've been using cheap pre-builts since my last build and finally decided to treat myself again. I wanted to be able to dabble in 3D rendering and get back into gaming. This build should do the trick. The build went fairly smoothly. I only had to uninstall and redo the AIO once, since I wasn't able to get it to reach the CPU the first way I had it installed. It's possible I just had it wrong, but by that point I just wanted it done. :) As for the parts, the power supply may be a bit overkill. I wasn't sure which one to pick so while discussing it with the sales person they suggested this one. Since it will most likely outlast the other parts and wasn't that much more than one of the other options I had selected before heading to the store, I went with the suggested power supply. So far I'm happy with it. My simple "beginner" renders that took an hour or more on my last PC now take a minute or two... and games run smoothly. Temps stay cool, and it's not too loud under normal use. The GPU fans do make some noise under load, but not too bad. I haven't changed anything from the stock settings so far.$2,439.94 -

I am currently on a survival game kick, but I play pretty much anything first person. Obviously this PC has no problem keeping up! If I did it again, I would use a smaller cooler than the NHD-15. I had this build started on 5-11-2023 at Micro Center in Denver Colorado. It came to completion when I took the rig back and had them install additional fans and the Corsair commander Core to control the additional fans and RGB lights. Currently I don't have any channel I upload on, but I do plan on having one and using this machine to create the content for it. Right now I only work on personal projects. For what I play now, I play many games on my PC such as Minecraft, RE4 Remake, GTA V, MW2 (2022), Forza Horizon 5, and Spiderman to name a few. In the future I may upgrade to platform like WRX80 or a newer HEDT platform once I can find a good deal on one. I am really happy with this system currently though as it is and have no plans on doing any major upgrades for a little while. Only thing I can think of adding is more NVME drives by getting a NVME card that supports 4 drives.$3,810.48 -

This is a PC oriented towards gaming that fully embraces the unicorn vomit mentality in the way of aesthetics. I used to have minimal to no rgb in this build whatsoever but upon buying more parts that featured RGB lighting, i decided to let it go and embrace the unicorn regurgitation. I have been slowly parting this together to its current state for a few years now and finally am at the point I am at now and don't intent to upgrade for a few years atleast.$3,057.88 -

I recently started a YouTube channel related to PC tech and finally realized I needed to upgrade my GPU (had a 6900xt) to have more consistency and performance within Davinci Resolve. Also, the grey screen crash that AMD has when using multiple monitor setups was infuriating and I had enough. The high power draw in multiple monitor setups as well as high temps (over 90 hotspot in demanding games) made me go Green as well. For gaming, I do dabble around in AAA titles, but I’m a huge Total War fan (almost 2k hours across Warhammer games) so I do need a good gpu. Why the 4080 instead of the 4090? At the end of the day, it’s a minimum 400 dollars cheaper. I game at 1440p and the increase performance for a 4090 to a 4080 is not worth the price to performance difference. Also I wanted an asus tuf card as it’s the most aesthetically pleasing to me, as well as staying within the Asus ecosystem. The insane power efficiency of the 4080 is great too. Most personally though, I just personally don’t like being on the bleeding edge of tech. It’s a money trap and you can never truly be “top end” for long. Probably why I’m satisfied with Amd gpus for so long.$4,082.93 -
