Wanted to try going for desktop-route and built the pc, I usually use it for gaming, including games such as Rainbow Six Siege, Destiny 2, Assetto Corsa, and Minecraft Modpacks. I have upgraded this PC several times, from adding better cooling fans, to upgrading motherboards. I also plan to upgrade my GPU to a RTX 30 Series when the 50 Series releases.$776.94 -

I wanted to design and build a full open case with thick double 1/2 acrylic sheets having the ability to access all the components easily. Also have all the radiator RGB lighting show through the acrylic while protecting the fans and moving parts. Polished hex bolts secure the frame. The Corsair SF750 mini PSU was perfect for this build a I needed a super small PSU to both accomodate the GPU requirements as well as hide in the back with the wiring minimal. The GPU is supported on the bottom with a custom 3D printed frame that acts as both a case stand where the acrylic locks in as well as the horizontal mount for the GPU and eliminates all GPU sag.$1,181.91 -

PC 2 I made for my spouse to work on and also play pc games with me. Most of the games I play are found on Steam, Blizzard, Epic Games, LoL, Valorant, etc. I'm a OIF/OEF Vet myself, my teenage kids wanted to get into PC gaming (they're "upgrading" from consoles/Fortnite) and I come from an automotive repair background so putting together a PC is trivial in comparison to an engine or fine tuning suspension for an auto cross track. Anywho, future upgrades to include the new 6800 XT or some 3080's were available but I'll deal with having 5700 XT's for now as a place holder. Almost returned both these NZXT cases (still within 30day window) and buy 2 new Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini cases + 12*LL120 case fans but too lazy to take apart both PC components JUST to have the NEW case.$3,267.86 -

It wasn't an easy process to do so please, bear with me. I've always wanted to build a gaming pc because of the performance and the content creator aspect that PC's made so easy. The main problem, however, was always money for one thing. As a 15 year old, if I wanted this to happen, I'd have to make it happen myself. So, me and a couple friends got together and worked to wash cars all summer. We made a good amount of money doing it also. At least more than working at a movie theatre or fast food restraunt. Finally, in November, my parents said they'd let me build it since my greats were extremely good. My local Microcenter in Marietta made it SO easy to help modify my design and to help me get the parts I needed for my build. Just walking around I was never short of a staff member asking me if I needed any help finding anything. On thanksgiving day, I built my pc with my brother who's 16, who has yet to build a pc since he didn't get enough money due to getting few hours at the job he got because of Covid-19. However, I'm determined to make content on either Rocket League or Cyberpunk 2077 when it drops on the 10th. However, for that I need a webcam and a mic, which is what I'd use the money for. However, I never would've been able to make my setup and pc if it weren't for y'all at Micro Center, so regardless if I win, thank you. Your staff members were so polite and everything worked perfectly. Thank you Micro Center! ps I know my setup won't look nearly the best out of these submissions but I'm working more over the holidays and I hope to fix that lol$1,725.90 -

Mostly PUBG , Overwatch , Ready Or Not, GR:Breakpoint. It was Built with mobility/flexibility/power in mind. It's small enough to take to LAN Parties or a friends house. Running this thing is my 5700XT. The reason I opted to go with this vs an nvidia card is I wanted to truly stick to the RED theme. Aside from that my LG Panel is Freesync and I didn't want to run into compatibility issues using Gsync over Freesync. On this MINI-ITX Board is 3TB of total SSD Storage 1TB nvme and a 2TB SSD. I still have one extra nvme slot on the back of the motherboard should I want to add another nvme drive. @ 3440x1440p it runs butter smooth for almost all games. The screen is wide enough for me too that I can downscale to 1080p in windowed mode and run xsplit on other side for streams @thedarkdade$2,136.43 -

My last computer was getting a little long in the tooth and, since we can't travel anywhere, our vacation plans were put on hold. Most of that money went into savings, but SOME of it I earmarked to upgrade from an fx-6300 and gtx 1060 to what you see before you. I am notoriously difficult to shop for and I thought a few PC parts would be a great gift idea for my significant other. While not much of a surprise, the parts were exactly what I wanted. While I am still fine tuning the fans and noise levels, this machine satisfies all my needs. So far, I've been using it to play Control (because hey, new rig, new game) and Need for Speed: Most Wanted. It hasn't made me any better at gaming, but I'm having fun and I'd say that's what it's all about at the end of the day. Had I had it to do over again, I might have held out a little longer for the newer graphics cards, but just like anywhere else, better tech is ALWAYS just around the corner.$2,141.88 -

It was a great learning experience. I mainly play multiplayer FPS games like RB6 Seige and Warzone. At 1080p high settings system performed very well. Cooling was the only thing I was concerned about. However beefy air coolers these days get the job done. First case I picked up had few broken components including case. So, replaced it with a new case. If you are first time builder please make sure that the Power Supply and Air Cooler are compatible with the case that your are choosing and if you are skeptical and have more space; you can always pick up larger case just to be on the safe side. I built Iceburg to be an all-rounded pc, but for the most part I just play games. I've been hooked on WoW, AC Odyssey, and Horizon: Zero Dawn for the top three. It started out with an AMD 2600x paired with a ROG Strix RX 480. I didn't cable manage that well back then thinking I would upgrade it as I got the money. The AIO cooler I found wasn't sold here in the states from what I've seen and actually found it on the UK's Amazon. I have no idea how I got on there but I did. Turns out I was able to upgrade not too long later. I took the CPU to a 3800x and the GPU to a Red Devil 5700 XT. Added some fans to fill out the case last month and its never looked better. Temps are low 40's across the system and even under a two day run of Aida64, the CPU temps never got above 70 C°. I'm also running the 3800x at 4.4GHz all core 1.37 vcore. I plan on upgrading the motherboard to a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Xtreme in the near future. Thats only because my mom is still using a 6 year old AIO HP. I'm building one for her to give at Christmas. She loves the lights in my system so I am going to transfer over this Asus motherboard and the old tried and true 2600x. The wraith prizim that came with the 3800x is going to her for the looks. The Xtreme will also let me utilize the PCIe gen 4 for my 5700 XT and fill out the case a bit better. Way later down the road I plan on putting in 3 radiators and a distroplate to do a custom loop. I did have to dremel out the GPU support bracket where it contacts the fan shroud because the middle fan would catch on the slider no matter how I angled it.$2,453.40 -

Working from home during the Covid-19, I got a bit bored and wanted play some games on my down time. I started playing some games on my Macbook pro as well on my Microsoft Surface Laptop. Didn't get far with my thousand dollar laptop. Was going to buy another laptop but then ended up reading and understanding about building a PC. This is my first build. The main purpose of building this pc was to play games like Watch Dog 2, Need for Speed Heat, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Call of Duty MW Warzone, GTA V, and many more. I also do a lot of construction design reviews using Autodesk programs such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Revits, Navisworks, and Bluebeam program. With the PC setup listed below, I've seen FPS between the range of 100 to 150s depending on the games I play. That's with no overclocking.
