Bought my first prebuilt budget gaming pc in 2020 with i5-10400F, GTX 1660 Super 6GB, 16GB RAM DDR4 2666MHz and 1TB SATA SSD to play FPS games (Valorant, COD, R6). After 5 years, it could barely run cyberpunk and frostpunk at 1080p 60fps on medium setting without ray tracing, so I decided to invest into a mid-high ends custom pc built with the help of my buddy who recommended me to buy discounted bundle parts on Micro Center website and build it at home to save money for better parts.$1,279.92 -

I wanted a new pc, originally when I bought my pc I knew absolutely nothing about them so bought a prebuilt and had no graphics card / built in graphics in CPU so I really did not have the best performance especially on games such as Fortnite and Call of Duty, so saved up and sold some of my items and bought this beauty, coming in with a 4060 ti. I wanted a rig that can run small games such as Roblox, Fortnite, and Call of Duty to more demanding games like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, now I will soon be upgrading to a better card soon so I can run msfs 2024, but until then I will have to save up and use the 4060, as well as adding lian li strimmer cables and more ram (64gb). I hope you enjoyed!$1,219.93 -

Gertrude has recently glown up; her shell remains the same but she has received an internal upgrade (We love a baddie who takes care of her health). She's got all the parts: fans... a motherboard i assume... and a great personality! Encapsulating the Aura of a Star Wars Night Club, her lights and fans create the perfect atmosphere for casual gaming or if I'm feeling spicy, something a lil more sweaty. She runs The Sims 4 like a champ, Mods included. Overwatch and Marvel Rivals have never been so smooth, and Date Everything has me wanting to ask Gertrude for her number. She gets the job done.$1,529.93 -

This system was designed as a high-performance gaming rig that also functions as a dedicated streaming and music production studio for my daughter. The foundation of the build began with a Micro Center bundle featuring the ASUS ROG Strix X870E motherboard paired with the AMD Ryzen 9 9800X3D processor. I also acquired a Lian Li DK-07 Desk PC chassis from the same source to serve as the centerpiece for the setup. For the GPU, I selected the ASUS TUF RTX 5090, currently utilizing an Alphacool water block while we await the official TUF-specific release from Watercool. The memory consists of a 128GB dual-slot kit, cooled with a Barrow block. The CPU is equipped with a Bykski (Granzon GAIS) block, ensuring optimal thermal performance. This build showcases a variety of components from several leading water cooling manufacturers. My goal was to create a truly customized, high-end system without being restricted to a single brand—while, of course, adhering to best practices such as metal compatibility. This is very much a dream build for me. I initially experimented with other water cooling components but found the result unsatisfactory. After a complete overhaul, I arrived at this final configuration, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.$5,574.92 -

Most of the savings came from having a microcenter near me. I will be using it for mainly gaming with the occasional web browsing and YouTube. Runs pretty quiet I would say. I wanted to build a rig for unreal Engine 5 development, and needed to do so for a low-ish price. I got some great deals on Micro Center and assembled a mid-high-end gaming PC that has plenty of power and potential for upgrades. It was the first PC i've ever built, and though it was expensive, I got incredible performance for the price by building it myself. In UE 5 editor I get 120 FPS at 1440p Ultra with Ray Tracing, and in Age of Empires II Defintive Edition I get over 340 FPS on 1440p Ultra. I got a solid 2 TB WD Black SSD, couldnt find that on the parts listings. Don't mock my trashy cable managment, I know it's bad and will be redoing it very soon. A funny thing is I didn't realize was that my GPU weighs about 4.5 pounds, and I don't want my fancy ROG mobo to sag obviously, so I made a TEMPORARY GPU brace out of some old LEGO bricks that were lying around.$1,644.93 -

For a long time I had been using my laptop on RTX 2050, which was not enough for me, till I decided to build this PC. Initially I wanted to buy RTX 5070 TI but its disappointing availability and price just changed my mind so that I switched back to AMD and bought one of the most beautiful RX 9070 XT from XFX Mercury. It is already my 4th AMD graphic card and I have not regretted buying any of them. Even though I actually think that XFX Mercury is overpriced a little in terms of cooling/noise, lack of new 1 x 16-pin (if compare with Nitro+) and OC versions of this cards just don't make sense. Better just reduce power limit for 10% and enjoy if you have OC sample. The other parts as you can see I bought white as well. Even PSU is white. And someone could ask me why I am using air cooler with such powerful CPU as Ryzen 7 7800x3d. Come on people that is 95w processor, it is OK with air. Yes it is noisy a bit but not annoying. Btw I tried putting AIO (Artic liquid freezer 3 pro) in that case and It just hasn't fitted because of thick radiator I guess.$1,962.92 -

When I was pricing out components, I came across a particular combo from Microcenter that was too good to pass up. Even though it took me 3 hours of round trip driving, it was easily the best option for me as it knocked out my processor, motherboard, and ddr5 in one fell swoop. And so with a nod to anyone else who ever played/watched competitive Smash, I call this my wombo combo. In Rainbow 6 Siege (1440p resolution) I am able to max out my 185Hz monitor. This is a high-end build in my modified NZXT Apollo case originally bought back in 2008. I removed the bottom and middle drive cages and mounted a fan behind the front door for extra cooling if needed to make the case more suitable for a modern build. It actually works really well, and even though I've had this case for well over a decade and have acquired many other cases since, I still never get tired of looking at it. The current build inside of it is a 9800X3D along with 32GB of Trident 6000mhz memory and an RTX 4090 driving an Alienware 360hz 1440p OLED. I enjoyed building this old school-flavored speed demon. The "UltraGame Dominator" was designed to be an absolute gaming powerhouse capable of crushing modern titles at ultra settings with impressive FPS numbers. With a Ryzen 5 5600X at the core and an RTX 3060 12GB GPU, this rig is built to provide smooth performance in a wide variety of competitive games like Fortnite at 360+ FPS, Warzone at 200+ FPS, and GTA FiveM at 200+ FPS, even at high/ultra settings. These specs ensure that I have an edge in fast-paced games like Valorant, CS, and Rainbow Six Siege, where high frame rates are essential. The 32GB of RAM ensures excellent multitasking, while the combination of a Kingston NVMe2 SSD and a Samsung 990 EVO guarantees lightning-fast boot and load times for both the operating system and games. The inclusion of Wi-Fi makes this build versatile, allowing me to game or stream wirelessly if needed, and Windows 11 provides the latest gaming optimizations. Besides gaming, this machine also serves as a content creation platform, where I edit gameplay footage and stream to Twitch. With the included keyboard, mouse, and microphone, it's a well-rounded setup for gaming, streaming, and video editing. In hindsight, I might consider upgrading the GPU in a few years or possibly adding custom cooling or RGB for more visual flair. Future upgrades could also include expanding the storage as newer games require more space.$921.94 -

Being able to have more tabs opened and running multiple games at once has never been more sweaty. I come from a console background so building this as my first PC would give me more versatility in the games I could play. I mainly play a lot of shooters like Apex Legends and Overwatch so I didn't really need anything too high end starting out. Besides that, I'm planning to get a racing wheel relatively soon and start playing games like Assetto Corsa and iRacing.$1,050.91 -

Will be used for streaming, recording, gaming, editing, and game dev. One small hiccup when I first tested large scale battles in Total War: Warhammer 3 other than that it has aced every stress test and game I've thrown at it. I was able to build this PC because of a CPU + Board + RAM combo deal, and it was incredibly helpful since I was building around a $1,500 budget! (I actually managed to get in way under budget, which was a wonderfully welcome surprise) Originally, I optioned it with an AMD RX 6750 XT GPU, but have since upgraded to a RTX 3080 Ti Founder's Edition.$1,314.92 -

I also use it as a cloud gaming rig. If I could've done something different. I think I would've gone for a cpu with x3d. Something like a 7800x3d would've been worth it in the competitive scene, but I still got a great deal with the microcenter bundle. As a side note, I bought my gpu and cpu cooler separately from Microcenter. Zotac 3080 OC and a Peerless Assassin cooler. Everything else I got for an unbelievable price.$1,364.92 -

And in this industry strong computers are needed to carry out rendering and processing the animation. So I thought why settle for buying the whole computer set up when I can pool my resources and put together on of the most powerful computers in the market. I took inspiration from performance over presentation, I took the strongest parts in the market I could afford and had them put together into The Monolith. I want to play Red Dead Redemption on it, and the build is good enough for me to play this game at 120fps and high graphics settings and I'm really happy about it, It runs cool and very quiet too. Completely opposite from the prebuilt I had previously. I enjoyed buying these parts and assembling them myself. There were a few hiccups, but youtube is a very good resource for learning how to assembling a PC from scratch. I may add more RAM later but for now I'm going to finish the game first.$2,107.89 -

Not a professional builder, but I did a lot of research on reddit and pc building sites. I came to the conclusion that with $1.5k budget it's best to get AMD cpu and gpus for the best performance. It's currently running Ubuntu 24.04, but will add another M.2 SSD for Windows and gaming. Currently I'm participating in multiple scientific distributed computing projects with boinc, I have transcoded ripped blu rays (1080p so far) at a stable 500 fps to AV1 mkv's using ffmpeg (cuda hw accelerated). I plan to run an LLM locally, and want to see if i can run a 70B model without too much quantization, and compare to my old rig (core i7 3770, 16GB ram, GTX 1080). That only ran 13B models max. I might need more system memory. Lol.$2,424.92 -

The setup ensures smooth gameplay and stunning visuals, which enhance my gaming experience after a long day. Aside from gaming, my rig doubles as a hub for my creative projects. I frequently use Canva for designing graphics for social media campaigns, creating digital art pieces, and crafting presentations for work. The powerful GPU and CPU combination not only handle gaming demands but also crunch through intensive graphic design tasks with ease. Looking back, I might have considered a larger SSD to accommodate both my expanding game library and the numerous design files I work with. Future upgrades could include more RAM for smoother multitasking and perhaps investing in a dual-monitor setup to boost productivity while working on design projects.$1,086.95 -
