I was planning to upgrade to a 5070 ti but there is no stock, and then I heard about the horrible news about the missing ROP hardware defect, so I am glad I ended up getting an amd gpu instead. I love the huge 24 gb vram on the gpu, it would be great if I ever got into tinkering with machine learning, but most importantly it's great for gaming.

Made the choice to move from Intel to AMD because of all the horror stories about intel's newest cpus. So far it's been working good!

  I built it because my last PC was extremely outdated (AMD Radeon RX 560 Cyberpower PC from 2017) and I wanted to have a fun... I built it because my last PC was extremely outdated (AMD Radeon RX 560 Cyberpower PC from 2017) and I wanted to have a fun time gaming rather than experience exhausting load in times paired with choppy gameplay. I want to play all competitive FPS shooters and Battle Royal games. I will stick to my PS5 to play story mode games but every other type of game will be played on my PC. No planned future upgrades as I got mostly the latest parts but in retrospective I would have gone with a different AIO because the Arctic Liquid Freezer III was so difficult to work with. Overall an insane rig and I will use it for many many years to come.

I don't need raytracing, that's why I went for the RX 7900 XTX and not RTX 4080 Super (I mean, 24Gb VRAM and more FPS for less $? I'll survive without RT for sure). Microcenter's 7700X bundle provides amazing value, but may require some troubleshooting to ensure RAM stability. Overall this rig is a beast and pairs very well with my Hisense 55U8K TV

  If i remember this right, it's been over 13 years since I've built my first (and only) desktop PC, so I came into this one a... If i remember this right, it's been over 13 years since I've built my first (and only) desktop PC, so I came into this one a little bit rusty and barely any experience. Since then, I mostly just used consoles for gaming, considering that first PC was VERY low end, but i finally got the courage to step into the "master race" once again. After a lot of catching up and a bunch of youtube videos, yet another Fractal North build was born... All jokes aside, I don't remember having as much fun doing something in the last few years, as I had building this thing from the ground up! And you get that extra warm feeling when the build comes to life, EXACTLY as you imagined it.

Saw the Fractal Torrent and knew I had to build something with it. I think it came out very nice! I definitely need to get some white PSU cables to match the aesthetic overall. In hindsight, I should have maybe went for the standard Noctua heatsink, as the chrome fins would have matched the chrome from the PowerColor 7900XTX. Still very pleased!

Went from a 650W PSU, GeForce 1070 and Ryzen 3600x to a 1000W PSU, RX 7900 XTX and Ryzen 7900x. I wanted to just swap the graphics card during the pandemic but wasn't able to find a graphics card at non scalper prices. The recent launch of graphics cards and chips along with micro center deals lead to just doing a new build and leaving the old one in tact for my children/partner. Everything ended up being from Microcenter except the case which I got a great deal on ebay (used open box) and the CPU cooler and a fan 3 pack from Amazon.
