I wanted to build a rig for unreal Engine 5 development, and needed to do so for a low-ish price. I got some great deals on Micro Center and assembled a mid-high-end gaming PC that has plenty of power and potential for upgrades. It was the first PC i've ever built, and though it was expensive, I got incredible performance for the price by building it myself. In UE 5 editor I get 120 FPS at 1440p Ultra with Ray Tracing, and in Age of Empires II Defintive Edition I get over 340 FPS on 1440p Ultra. I got a solid 2 TB WD Black SSD, couldnt find that on the parts listings. Don't mock my trashy cable managment, I know it's bad and will be redoing it very soon. A funny thing is I didn't realize was that my GPU weighs about 4.5 pounds, and I don't want my fancy ROG mobo to sag obviously, so I made a TEMPORARY GPU brace out of some old LEGO bricks that were lying around.$1,644.93 -

The starting point of this PC was an HP Envy Chassis which was my first actual desktop PC. It was amazing. Then a week or 2... The starting point of this PC was an HP Envy Chassis which was my first actual desktop PC. It was amazing. Then a week or 2 later I found a better pc and passed it on to a family member to use. I helped build a new PC and this one came back into my hands. I could not keep still and decided "Hey, try building it how you originally wanted to before you bought your other PC." So, I did it. It turned out better than expected. It was magical how the parts aligned. Deal after Deal. For under $300, I converted it into a better PC than it was with "Looks + Custom Chassis". Even did pretty okay cable management for it. Then I sold the card it came with and got my graphics card from my personal and put it in. Muah, the perfect gaming and streaming combo formed. Intel + Nvidia. The only thing I would maybe do differently is also sell the hard drive and try to get a 1TB SATA SSD. Anyway, It was something that I wanted to do. Now that I have done it I want to do more builds.$543.00 -

So I had a cheap budget of around $300 to $400 for a computer. I found one on eBay and had planned a whole build around it.... So I had a cheap budget of around $300 to $400 for a computer. I found one on eBay and had planned a whole build around it. That is not this. I walked into a local pawnshop I visited often and saw a pc they had for $500. It WAS working when they got it and a previous customer looked at it. However, when I went to see it did not boot. They could not figure what the issue was and sold it to me at $340 no tax. I take it home and reseated the ram. It worked. I cleaned it up got all the weird bits and incorrect wiring corrected. It was a lil nasty but nothing a duster can't deal with. (I know its dusty.) My main plans for this are most likely a Case Swap + GPU Upgrade + more RGB Lights. Maybe some small Etsy stuff for decoration.$527.00 -

My build started in 2017, and I saved every penny I could find to afford it. It's carried me throughout the years to today, with some upgrades of course. Originally, the build consisted of an Intel Core i5-7600K, MSI Z270 Gaming M7, ASUS GTX 1070 STRIX OC, Samsung 850 PRO, and a Seagate Barracuda 2TB. I play indie games like Lethal Company and Undertale, and big games like Battlefield 2042, Mortal Kombat 1, Five Nights at Freddy's, and VRChat. Throughout the time I spent building my pc, I wish I had purchased the parts at once instead of incrementally buying a part when it was possible. I could've gotten newer hardware had I done the former. In the future, I definitely would like to get a 2TB NVME SSD to replace my Seagate hard drive, and upgrade to 32GB of DDR4 ram. I also foresee a switch to the AMD Ryzen 7000 processor line.$2,646.49 -

My youngest has always been asking for a PC since his sisters has one, so I've been searching the cyber web for various... My youngest has always been asking for a PC since his sisters has one, so I've been searching the cyber web for various parts to build him a budget PC. Lots of the parts are used, but I purchased the 5800x3d from Microcenter. The best deal I got was for the Louqe Raw S1 case. The original owner had a custom paint job on it and had a hard time selling it, so I was able to scoop it up for $30. All we did was use paint remove and sanded all the paint off. We liked the bare metal so we left it at that. The only problem with this case is you're limited on the CPU cooler. The best you can fit is the Noctua NH-L12S, but I have future plans to cut down the case to allow a AIO radiator to mount in the back. He is still young so he's been mainly using the PC for learning apps. He's happy with his PC, but now asking about a custom keyboard like his sisters T_T.$1,119.97 -
