All the way from the aesthetics to the hardware. I wanted my first gaming computer to play all of my retro game collections up to AAA titles, with having it being future proof for a few years. One major adjustment I made after buying all of my parts, was exchanging my Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 6600 XT 8GB for the Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB. The 6700 XT has better graphics, more VRAM and is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.$1,601.45 -

PURPOSE >> This computer was built for mainly general purpose use (i.e., emails, online meetings, presentations, Youtube, etc.) along with amateur graphic design + 3D modeling (i.e., Photoshop and eventually Blender with future plans to use with 3D printer) and light 1440p gaming (looking to get into Diablo 4 given Diablo2 nostalgia, NFS Unbound, maybe Starfield since it was included with CPU purchase, LoL, etc.) FORM & FUNCTION >> Foundational image of the build I had in mind was the mATX platform, making sure I wanted to avoid a full-tower and full-sized ATX motherboard (what was used in my last PC built back in 2007). I purchased the Antec NX200M case purely due to its design. From there, given the timely release of the most recent Ryzen 7000 series CPUs, I went with the energy-efficient yet still powerful Ryzen 7 7700 and associated ASRock B650M motherboard (which is mainly black with white accents). Given the relatively lower TDP, I went with a smaller dual-tower CPU cooler and purchased in white to accompany the motherboard accents and provide some contrast to the black internals of the case. From there, I made plans to eventually purchase a 7800XT GPU when released, and identified the ASRock Challenger as a perfect design fit for my system (to be purchased in the near future). An adequate PSU was purchased to accompany the 7800XT and overall power needs. RAM and storage were purchased with best affordable function in mind. After some consideration, I then built my own front cover to replace the Antec OEM plastic facade. Design mimics the Fractal North but utilizes my own desired wood stain/tone. TIMELINE//FUTURE PLANS >> Parts for this build were purchased over a period of 6-8 months, and this setup is still a work in progress, with future plans to purchase an AMD Radeon 7800XT and an extra 2TB NVME SSD. COMPREHENSIVE PARTS LIST >> --- Case: Antec NX200 M, Micro-ATX Tower --- Motherboard: ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi --- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8C/16T --- CPU Cooler: Thermalright Silver Soul 110 --- Memory: Team T-Force Vulcan 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 5600, CL 32 --- Storage: Solidigm P44 Pro, 1TB PCIe gen4 NVMe (Future: Samsung 980 Pro 2TB gen4 NVMe) --- GPU: CPU's integrated graphics for now (Future: AMD Radeon 7800XT, likely ASRock Challenger model) --- PSU: CORSAIR RM850e Fully Modular --- Fans: Iceberg Thermal IceGALE aRGB 140mm PWM x2 (Front intake) + ID-COOLING NO-12015-XT-ARGB slim PWM x1 (Rear exhaust) + Thermalright TL-C12015 slim PWM x1 (Rear/top exhaust) --- Front cover: Custom-made using Poplar, design inspired by Fractal North$801.33 -

For a living I edit videos, usually they are 1080p short-form, but even then, my projects can get so "complicated" or dense that even my old intel core i7 6850k would struggle to play it back. I really loved this CPU and platform, but it was time to get something modern. Intel 14th gen had released and I preordered the 14700k, and I went with intel because of the Quicksync h264/h265 hardware acceleration, otherwise I would've went with AMD. I'm really happy with my build. It does everything I need it to very well, and it didn't cost me that much for what I have. The only upgrade I can see myself doing in the next year is a GPU, RAM, or storage upgrade. I still have the old parts from my old build, which I'll probably turn it into a storage server and video encoding machine, so I can edit all my videos and have exports in progress without hindering timeline performance$1,255.93 -

With this build I wasn't trying to spend an outrageous amount, but wanted something that would last. The $400 deal from Micro Center that included the 7700x, motherboard, and 16Gb ddr5 was unbeatable. From there I acquired the other parts to just get a complete pc, already having a 500W psu and an absolute beast of an RX 580. Added an extra stick of 16GB as well. I just wanted something that works. Albeit, it struggled with elden ring. My work here wasn't done. The initial rig (red rgb fans) lasted a couple of months, where I upgraded the psu and added another 2tb of storage. However, I was getting fed up with that insane gpu bottleneck. So, I impulsively bought the 7800xt and slapped it right in there. Could not be happier. Absolutely crushes elden ring and anything I throw at it. (yes I know this is overkill for 1080p, but eventually I will upgrade to 1440p)$1,589.79 -

For my second ever time building a PC, I really wanted to make a small-form factor computer so that I will be able to easily move the PC around. My first PC was in a giant mid-tower LIAN LI case and when I was moving between countries, it was impossible to keep that PC without tearing it down. As such, I've turned to an ITX case with the Fractal Terra (Jade colour) and though it was personally challenging to build in such a small space (especially the cable management...), I really love it!! My main use for now is gaming (but eventually will turn into PC for writing essays instead..)$1,542.92
