Build Description
A mid-sized 26 liter Sama IM01 Pro case with heart of a starter AI system. Noodles of wires link a ASRock Mini-ITX board and AMD 5600GT CPU, to a Corsair 600W PSU, to two Seagate HDDs and to a NVIDIA Tesla P40 GPU. The case, with all side mesh panels and 5 expansion slots, comfortably holds the hot P40 and is ready for another P40 (with an Micro-ATX upgrade) or other larger GPUs. Optionally, a tophat can be added (expands to 29L) for extra drive capacity.
The budget setup with NVIDIA P40 24GB VRAM is good enough for basic local AI inferencing like Meta LLaMA 3. Two P40s will let it load larger 70B models.
