far and away the biggest reason i built this is the 2024 release of the 4070 super video cards by nvidia. i've been waiting for maybe 5 years now for the prefect opportunity window of availability and pricing to buy a new card and move on from my old vega 56 card. the 3000 series was amazing but sadly supply and other factors ruined the availability and spiked resale prices on the market. The 4000 series has been a decent line so far but the original non-super 4070 seemed to be pretty underwhelming, so i decided to wait even though it was at the perfect price point for my budget. finally, the 4070 super is exactly what i've been waiting for. very pleased so far with the performance so far on my 1440 resolution monitor. and at the resolution i don't expect to ever need any more than the 12gb on the 4070 super.
