HP Pavilion SFF Desktop Gaming PC Conversion
by Rahu P Posted on: 5/23/2023Build Description
Bought a HP desktop PC in 2018 for home computing. Got into PC gaming playing coop on roomate's PC during the pandemic, decided to build a PC for myself. Did some researching and found out that I could add a GPU to the computer I already have, and the build was born. Just needed to add a GPU/SSD and upgrade the PSU.
Favorite Feature
Basically the fact that I could reuse/repurpose the PC I already had. Got lucky because it's a custom OEM case/motherboard but came with a full PCIe x16 slot and standard ATX PSU so I didn't have to do too much in the end. Also like the small form factor (about 15 L), have moved quite a bit since the build and its definitely been easier to move around compared to a full tower. Now looking into whether liquid cooling makes sense since temps are a bit high or whether just upgrading the CPU cooler from stock might be enough.
