How to switch between Microsoft Accounts in Windows 8.1
Description: This article will show you how to switch your sign-in account on a Windows 8.1 PC from a Microsoft Account to a different existing Microsoft Account.
- The first step in this process is to switch to a local account. Swipe in from the right side of the screen while on the desktop view or press the Windows Key and C at the same time. Click on Settings in the lower right corner.
- Click on Change PC settings.
- Click on Accounts.
- Under Your Account, click on Disconnect.
- Type in your current Microsoft Account Password and then click Next.
- Enter the requested information to create your local account and then click Next.
- Click on sign out and then Finish.
- Log back into Windows using the newly created local account.
- Swipe in from the right side of the screen while on the desktop view or press the Windows Key and C at the same time. Click on Settings in the lower right corner.
- Click on Change PC settings.
- Click on Accounts and then under Your account, click on Connect to a Microsoft account.
- Type in your current password for your local account.
- Type in the username and password for the different Microsoft Account and then click Next.
- On this final screen click Switch.
- This will now log you in to the different Microsoft Account that you chose.
