AMD 64
From an architecture perspective, AMD 64 allows multiple cores — each having its own L1 and L2 caches — to be totally integrated within a single processor. From a technology standpoint, AMD 64 doubles the number of processor registers giving you the benefit of running either 32-bit or 64-bit software applications.

AMD Phenom™ II X6 1090T Black Edition supports either 4MB or 6MB of shared L3 cache and 512K of L2 cache per core. You benefit from quick retrieval of frequently accessed data so you're never stuck spinning your wheels.

HyperTransport® 3.0 Technology
Created to increase communication speeds between integrated computer, server, and embedded system circuits 0 and including networking and telecommunications equipment - the benefits of hypertransporting are point-to-point communication at high speeds with less latency.

Direct Connect
One more way to improve system performance and efficiency, Direct Connect helps to eliminate front-side bus bottlenecks by directly connecting the processor core to the memory, the I/O subsystem, and other processors via high bandwidth Hypertransport links. This architecture allows for the memory controller to be located on the processor instead of the motherboard, thereby reducing latency.

Hardware Virtualization
The AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition processor provides support for virtualization technology for robust platforms offering a scalable virtualization environment. Also known as AMD-V, this set of hardware extensions enables better use of resources helping to improve the effectiveness of clients, servers, and data centers. The benefits of AMD-V include more efficient creation of virtual machines simultaneously running multiple operating systems, more improved application responsiveness when switching between virtual machines, accelerated application performance though memory management, enabling live migration of virtual machines, and improved integrity and security.

Cool'n'Quiet™ Technology 3.0
Building on Cool'n'Quiet 2.0 for reducing power usage, reducing energy costs, and improving PC performance, AMD's Cool'n'Quiet Technology 3.0 also offers SmartFetch technology which uses fewer clock cycles to locate stored data and 45 nm Process Technology with Immersion Lithography which enhances performance and power reduction by placing more transistors in a smaller space. This not only offers energy saving benefits, it also enables space-saving smaller form factors.

Still an important part of Cool and Quite 3.0, AMD's CoolCore™ Technology can adjust frequencies and enable or disable portions of the processor based on user demand. This results in less energy used, less heat produced, and more efficient overall operation.
