I have been gaming on a laptop for the convenience of its portability for my entire life. After graduating from college, I don't value portability as much anymore, so I decided to get a desktop. Best idea I made. Desktop gaming is completely on another level. It's better in graphic fidelity and runs smoother. I can game on it for hours without the computer overheating.$1,834.92 -

ASUS TUF OC 5080 GPU - This card rips, it's the best graphics card I have ever owned, I highly recommend this card. While it might not have the beauty of the ROG Astral for $200 more, but it has nearly identical performance. This card handles everything I throw at it with ease. The 7800x3d prevents any CPU bottlenecks, and it runs nice and cold thanks to the ARCTIC Freezer. With 6 - 140mm fans and the ARCTIC Liquid III 240, this case stays ultra cool. The case curved screen is like nothing else I have seen and at $150, I think it's very nice with the walnut accents.$2,889.93 -

I loved how this computer looked, sleek and mysterious. I played all types of games on this computer like Gary's mod and counter strike. It sat in my basement for a few years because I upgraded to a souped up Main gear vybe. Just this year my fiance needed a new computer and while cleaning out my basement I found my fx6800 and thought it was a great idea to bring new life to this computer and give my fiance a gaming rig she can work and game on aswell. The easy part was gutting all the old tech out because it was really out dated. The hard part was trying to find new tech that would fit inside the case, because of how compact it was in the inside. Yeah I could have cut alot of the useless stuff in the case, but I wanted to keep it close to original looking as possible. It took me about a two months of doing some home work and finding what will fit and what I can afford. The good part of building a sleeper is no products with RBG, because components with RGB are a little more expensive than ones with out. It saved me som3 money there and having a case this case also saved me money. The reason why I went intel and with the asrock mother board was that microcenter gave me a great deal with this combo and the ram too! I went with a noctua air cooler for my cpu because I couldn't fit a water cooling system. For my gpu I went with a 4070ti msi 12gb, it's a great card! I couldn't find any 5070s or 5080s that fit pretty good in this case at the time. This project came out really good. My fiance loves playing hogwarts legacy and Sims while she's working.$1,853.94 -

I am really impressed with this microatx case. For the price, it has good ascetics and is super easy to build in. Everything went smoothly and it turned out better than expected. Performance is really solid so far. Plays Kingdom come deliverance 2 with pretty much maxed out setting smoothly.$1,729.92 -

I built it because i was sick of playing at 30 fps on an old work laptop, it is a gaming pc and i play multiple games. These range from War Thunder, to No Man's Sky, to even Satisfactory. I play many different games so I can't list them all or this list will go on forever, but it plays the games I want and I have no problems with it.$777.96 -

It started with my birthday back in February buying the Lian Li O11 Vision Chrome case as a present to myself and upgrading kind of all happened from there. went from an AM4 system to the bundled 7800x3d. Then had to get new fans so I ended up with actually too many Lian Li SL INF fans. (I have 3 extra now and a reverse blade too... oops.) upgraded the AIO to the Galahad 2 LCD. Then I was lucky enought to get an ROG Astral RTX 5080 on the release day of the 9950x3d chip! Over the course of a month I eventually replaced everything in my old PC and couldn't be happier. Everytime I walked into my Microcenter here in Chicago I talked to the same dude and he helped me everytime. Can't remember his name but he was a life saver and started me on my way from my birthday. He even wished me a happy birthday when he helped me pick my case :) I also built it while watching Lord of the Rings on my Birthday. Best day I could have asked for.$3,399.95 -

She's only 7 but she's like her old man and loves to take things apart and put things together. The build was 99% exactly how we wanted it except we couldn't find the white Montech Sky Two case so we picked the black one. She also learned how to synchronize the colors using iCue for the RAM and Gigabyte Control Center for the rest of her RGB to match her theme.$1,894.93 -

There is no way I would spend 20% or even 50% markup for it. Got a used 7800xt from a friend for $200. He upgraded to RTX 5080, so he doesn't need it anymore. 7800 xt has 16gb vram. It should last me a couple of years. Hopefully, the shortage will get better by then. Other than that little fuss, I am pretty happy with this build.$1,209.93 -

I developed the itch to upgrade and rebuild my Intel-based desktop pc (even though socket 1700 is now obsolete / discontinued). My main motivation is that my old Gigabyte motherboard was really weak in supporting ddr5 frequencies. Forget any kind of overclocking - I couldn't even achieve stability at stock XMP profile speeds. I had no choice but to run the dd5 modules significantly underclocked for some time. I realized that this ddr5 frequency problem is probably common among lower and mid range motherboards. As a result, I started looking at motherboards that are mid to high tier in terms of overclocking capability. Eventually my search for a good product at a good price led me to find an interesting product, an Asus Strix z790 itx motherboard on clearance at my local Microcenter. It was a great price - which gave me new motivation for my build. Not only was my desktop going to be better. It was also going to be smaller.$1,687.43 -

Until recently, he always assumed the the monitor itself was "the computer." He was overdue for a teaching moment. So when he expressed a desire to play on a larger screen than his mobile device, I took the opportunity. A lot of basica information was passed on and the 11-year old was actually to do nearly all of the physical assembly with his own hands (under detailed instruction). I only handled the cpu installation because, you know, delicate cpu pins and such. Sadly, the pc is still primarily being used for games like Minecraft and Roblox. But I hope over time he will learn to appreciate what this system can do in the context of new games.$764.96 -
