Babyboy Babyboy

My last rig must had gotten damaged pins on the mobo. Either way it motivated and scared me into not only getting another rig but making one with thermals as the top priority. Now I wish I had more money at the time for a beefier mobo when I had bought this but the combo is beautiful. Works better than expected. I call this build babyboy because building it woke me up even more. It was the the last push to my evolution as a dweeb. My goals become easier to follow. Building motivated me into building more. To not feel like going in my pc is daunting. It took a depressed and nearly checked out of life veteran and turned him into the kid that didn't worry about the worst life has to throw at them. Sorry anyway. Baby boy has made me dig deeper into my studying as I want to make my own Aio for a pc and even delve into engineering because I love the void that creation brings. It robs me of negative focus and gives me back passion. My PC's were always powerful and the trend continues. I am getting familiar with 3d software, mainly unreal. Working on a hard scifi novel that I might just pass to my friend to make into a video game. He loved the idea he will be graduating for programming soon. My gift to him is going to be a high powered machine. For all of his programing needs a rig on par or better than anything i can own. The things I love for the people I love. Babyboy Harkens me back to a time where I was a dorky a** black kid growing up in harlem getting bullied for "acting white" 😪 , up into my time in the infantry and even beyond where constantly get targeted for the same thing by more so the opposite of my childhood bully types. (Sorry for being vague). As you can maybe tell I think way too much. I spend alot of time in chatrooms not because I like them anymore. It's because I can generate heat better than Dominick Mysterio when I'm online. I have a Army of people who hate me on the internet and it's honestly how I get better now n days. I constantly have people discouraging me, trying to drag me down, dehumanize me, feels like the military but with folks I can't punch in the face. That oddly enough has been my source of fuel. People telling. Me I'm worthless and can't. LOL For me it's the best fuel ever. Over the course of two years my aptitude for math, science, has skyrocketed, I have built a reputation in some of the most toxic circles you can find online as a guy you should hate for no good reason at all. I love it. Computers have alot to do with this. This was what I thought about while doing my build. You get where I'm going? This experience was therapeutic for me and eye opening into who I am as a human. Babyboy helped freed a chained man. In a sense by giving me even more confidence to tackle things. For a build that was suppose to replace my i9 9900k rig. It did more than that. It set up another stage of metamorphosis. The recluse in me let's a bit too much out at times : [ sorry. As for the build. It was meant for general use. But if you seen my setup you would maybe understand i use it for much more, such as development. C++ and python coding, btw my first ever code written was program that identified your compiler written in c++, my second was a gpt 2 based learning model (in python)that same night. Now I didnt have AI help me with the second code, but still I was pretty happy with myself. I would like to animate and make a game with my best friend from those times of me getting bullied as a kid. A rpg game based in hard science. Something that gives off "three body problem" vibes. I also need to learn how to design prototypes. Like maybe some thing for the cooler I want to make. For example. 32 gb of ram even at ddr5 i feel limited in unreal engine. So I will go for possibly 128 gb over time. So a 64gb kit is in my future, then another. Next month I'm getting a 4 tb m.2 for Unreal engine alone and another for productivity needs. I have a 4 tb system now. As far as what I could have done differently. I should have gotten the h9 elite case as it has rgb fans and a controller. But pretty much the same exact case I have. I'm gonna also repair my old mobo if possible and if I can do it right, my nephew who is studying computer science but using a idohan spud will have a power relic of the 9th gen coming his way. I loved what this build did for me. It was more than just a pc build. It was as much a window or veiwport into myself, just as this summary of the build experience was. Sorry for taking that so far. I don't know how to not go 100% at times. Sorry for any typos and such. Big hands, small phone, you know the deal. I'll try to edit if possible. THANKS 😊$971.95 -

I wanted to be a good all around PC with an emphasize on gaming. I've been a console guy, but I've been wanting to play some PC only games like BeamNG, Civ, City Skylines, Terraria, and trying my hand with iRacing. I have also rediscovered Minecraft since my only experience with it was on integrated graphics. In the future, I might get some RBG lights for the interior of the case since it is a bit dark and I want to show off the internal components. In hindsight, I wouldn't have built this computer at 2 in the morning before traveling for thanksgiving.$1,099.96 -

My first desktop PC was an insanely overpriced Alienware prebuilt (please don't crucify me, I was 12) that I got when I was in middle school. It was extremely heavy, had terrible airflow, and generally gave me a whole heap of issues during the like 7.5 years that I had it. Even though it was clunky, I'll always love my GTX 1070 for lasting so long and giving me many unforgettable gaming memories, from the Halo series, to Metro, to Resident Evil. Needless to say, I was long overdue for an upgrade, and with working part-time in college I was able to finally build my first PC and it was a blast. I used to primarily play older games like around 2012 to before, always at 1080p 60hz max. For this build I wanted to make the jump to 2K or 1440p and shoot for a higher refresh rate at at least the 144hz mark. I also wanted water cooling and plenty of fans that I could control to optimize airflow, without having rainbow vomit RBG everywhere (although I see and respect everyone's colorful builds). I've been wanting to build my own PC for years, but after buying the Dead Space remake on steam and having it be borderline unplayable on the lowest settings, I knew it was time for an upgrade. I've stress tested my build with Dead Space, RDR2, GTA V, Metro Exodus, No Man's Sky, and even some Half Life Alyx and couldn't be happier with my target performance. Having started with a 500GB HDD in middle school and eventually maturing into a digital hoarder, I was super happy knowing I could take advantage of my MOBOs 3 M.2 SSD slots, and the added SSD and HDD bracket hidden in the back of my case. Microcenter's bundles made building my PC a breeze, and the only thing I did have trouble on was my GPU. I know there's a lot of discourse regarding Nvidia's 4000 series and their VRAM, but with the market stabilizing a bit after everything, I felt glad at the end of the day with my choice. Performance wise I couldn't be happier. Super fast bootup and processing times, access to DLSS and ray tracing, and an insane boost in quality and frames compared to my old 1070 make using this PC night and day. I picked up a 1440p 165Hz LG UltraGear monitor and WOW; for the price I spent (which was way less than I spent on my prebuilt back then) the performance was great. I feel set for the foreseeable future, besides replacing my AIO in 5 years or inevitably buying more storage and drives. Besides that, there's not much else. The case and build went really smoothly, and I did get confused at some parts but I worked it out (such as forgetting to remove the plastic sticker on my CPU cooler...or not removing the grate my AIO radiator attached to for easier screwing). Overall I'm very happy, and using an unlocked "k" intel CPU finally let's me enable XMP and get the most out of my RAM (6000MHz!).$1,264.94 -

I was running a 9 year old Lenovo i7 4770 build and it was starting to lag just viewing raw photos from my dslr. So, that started the process of building another pc that would be a major upgrade for photoshop and last another 8-10 years. This build uses the i7 13700k along with 32 gb of DDR5 ram for “future proofing.” A 1Tb WD black m.2 drive makes sure I can access everything fast. I had an unopened Corsair H100i laying around so running cool is virtually guaranteed. A bronze 750w power supply makes sure the RTX 4060 Ti stays happy along with the rest of the system. The three led pwm fans included with the glass sided case really tops it off. With microcenter’s bundle deals, this was incredibly affordable and a perfect system for me to get the job done.$1,332.93 -

I saved tons by buying RAM, cooling, and CPU used online. I also managed to find an Aorus Master for $110, which was a steal, even though it doesn’t have CPU OCing. I didn’t want to go too crazy with RGB, but when you keep your lighting at white, blue, and purple, it looks pretty slick, and not like something a 10-year-old drew. I haven’t gotten three of the fans yet, but my temps are honestly doing just fine without them, and I love the NZXT cooling, because it keeps my temps low without being too loud. I’ve been using this for CAD, some 4K gaming at relatively high settings(the GPU is doing fine), programming(hence the i9 and 32GB of RAM), and work/online school. No problems, except that I was considering going for the pricier 6950(which is $200 more expensive, but has 150% the performance of the 6750), and I might eventually upgrade my GPU. Also, the SSD is the slowest m.2 SSD on the market, but it’s still faster than most HDDs, and it was $30. If I were to do it again, I would go for a Samsung SSD for maybe $60, with much better performance. I don’t mind the SSD too much, though.$1,397.91 -

The problem I created is that the rest of my old, 7th gen Intel build ended up being a sever bottleneck to the performance I should have been getting from the 6750 XT. Consequently, I pretty much replaced everything else in the build so that I could have a machine that complimented the video card, not weigh its performance down. So far, so good! I mostly use it just to put up my school projects and such but I have recently started putting up more personal short films. Once I built it though I got into gaming pretty quickly and I’m having a lot of fun playing halo mostly but also some valorant. I absolutely want to go with custom water cooling within the next couple of months but I think before I do I want to change the case to an nzxt H9, this case is a little small for that at the moment. I changed the theme pretty often at first but I think I’ve settled on this one that was inspired by namor from wakanda forever as you can see from the pops. The PC is water cooled with an AIO liquid cooler. All of this is inside of my mini-tower with a microATX motherboard. I use the PC mainly for gaming, and some editing for my YouTube channel as well! As evidenced by the title, there are a lot of placeholders currently here. The GPU is an old RX 580, the case is a mediocre darkFlash case, the AIO isn't installed, and there isn't a CPU yet. The AIO isn't installed specifically because I don't want to deal with messing up the pre-applied thermal paste when I don't have a CPU. Because of that, I left the AIO in the box on top of the case just to show that I actually have it. I'm currently planning to use the build log coupon from submitting this build towards the purchase of a 13700k. The RX 580 is a temporary GPU until the new AMD 7000 series GPUs are available in the coming weeks. In regards to the case, I'm planning to upgrade to something that supports an E-ATX motherboard in the near future, but don't want to purchase anything until I have clear dimensions of the GPU going inside. Otherwise I risk having clearance problems with my GPU and other components. Not pictured are other accessories like bright green individually sleeved PSU cables and a set of Lian Li RGB Strimers. It didn't really make sense to install them in a placeholder case to later need to take them out. I figure the more work I do setting things up in a placeholder case, the lazier I am going to get when it comes time to pull everything out and rebuild in the final case. I also have a second set of the RGB DDR5 I ordered from EVGA, but I'm waiting to see how well it runs on the Z690 classified in a 2dpc configuration before I include it. I have heard great things about 13th gen Intel memory support even on Z690 boards, so I'm optimistic that I should be able to hit the rated 6000 MT/s speeds even running 2dpc instead of 1dpc. Once the other parts I listed are available and installed, I'm planning to find a bunch of RGB accessories to fully illuminate the case. Right now I'm looking at replacing the EVGA AIO fans with some quieter ARGB fans, and putting some light strips in to really make this system glow.$1,623.96 -

I've been piecing this build together a bit at a time for the last six months. I mainly kept an eye out for components that would be a significant upgrade over my 11900K / 3070 Ti desktop build. Shoutout to the employees at my local microcenter who take time to hunt down the random clearance items I order. Everything but the AIO cooler and the ssd storage devices were bought at microcenter. Currently on the 13700k, I have all P cores overclocked to 5.8 with all E cores at 4.4 with vcore set to 1.35 and medium LLC. My ddr5 is modestly overclocked from 6000 to 6400 for the time being. I need to re-learn how to overclock ram because a lot of bios settings have become more complex since ddr3-ddr4 days. From what I understand, Hynix A die modules should be able to overclock significantly higher frequencies - I just need to learn how to pull that off.$1,624.25 -

I play a wide variety of single player games and like games with nice graphics so they are often demanding. Recent games I played include Horizon Zero Dawn, Plague Tale Requiem, and Witcher 3. I play on a 1440p high refresh rate monitor and the 6900 XT has had no trouble delivering 100+ for basically every game I played. It was a nice upgrade over my RTX 3070 although I do miss some of the Nvidia features like DLSS. The 6900 XT is a lot faster though and has 16 GB of VRAM. It even does pretty well in ray traced games. The 13700k is a really powerful CPU probably even overkill for gaming. However it wasn't much more than the 13600k and is helpful on the rare occasions I do rendering or certain data analytics that can utilize a lot of cores/threads. I also really like the Lian LI 205 mesh case I was able to get open box at Micro Center. The RGB fans are nice and it has great airflow. I also like that its not too large, but still able to fit most GPUs. Most of the other parts are standard although I do wish I waited before getting a 4 TB SSD. Prices are much lower now than they were last year.$1,627.96 -

With starfield coming out I wanted to get a new build for it since I hadn't really upgraded in many years as my old build had only 16GB of RAM (that was a lot when I built it) and a 1660 Super. That worked as all I played was old and small games like Fallout 4, EUIV, and red dragon so it wasn't a problem but with starfield coming out and knowing bethesda games I will be playing it for years to come with newer and move expansive mods so I needed something beefier.$1,725.57 -

I've always wanted to build my own Gaming PC since I was a kid and now recently that I'm a little older and able to afford the parts I've always dreamed of, I went for a mid/high end build. I have to say it turned better than expected. Cable management can be better though XD. This is a very cheap yet a very premium build for the price. The build is included with everything from parts to monitor, keyboard, mouse, and mousepad. I guess what also helped make the build so cheap was that I bought everything.$1,783.92 -

This is my first build, so it took a while to put together, but it posted first try. The cable management is a little tight in back. I might buy some custom cables to clean it up a bit. Other than that it looks clean and runs like a dream. Every game I've tried on it has run at ultra with ray tracing on, and it has crushed them with 90 to 144 fps, and not even a shred of lag to be seen. Very happy with the build.$1,797.91 -

I built this computer for my husband since his computer was crashing, having weird glitches, and running poorly. Troubleshooting listed a handful of potentially different hardware issues. This computer is built to handle gaming (co-op, survival, FPS, RPG, open world, puzzle, action) some programming, and some CAD for 3d printing (running Atom3d). Doesn't crash when playing Gunfire Reborn unlike previous computer. Plays newer games like Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and survival and adventure games like Mist and Rune Factory 5.$1,811.27 -

I have a soft spot for microATX builds and it seems like they’re the red-headed stepchild of the scene. There’s something about all the wasted space in a full size ATX case that makes me sad inside and I don’t wanna be sad! I use it for school, gaming, and programming, dual booting Windows 10 and EndeavourOS. Some games I play are Minecraft, Cyberpunk, Valorant, and also VR games like BeatSaber. I got the CPU + MOBO + Ram combo and some other parts from Micro Center. One issue I've had with the RX 7800 XT was frame stuttering every few seconds, which I believe is due to a driver issue (on Windows). I fixed it by upgrading drivers and also turning off screen capture, but I hope it will be fixed in the future, as I'm also considering on switching to an RTX 4070 Super. I feel like I might've gone overkill with my specs but it'll definitely last me a good couple years before I need to consider upgrading.$1,867.88 -
