Black Rabbit
by George Posted on: 2/26/2024Build Description
I've been piecing this build together a bit at a time for the last six months. I mainly kept an eye out for components that would be a significant upgrade over my 11900K / 3070 Ti desktop build. Shoutout to the employees at my local microcenter who take time to hunt down the random clearance items I order. Everything but the AIO cooler and the ssd storage devices were bought at microcenter.
Currently on the 13700k, I have all P cores overclocked to 5.8 with all E cores at 4.4 with vcore set to 1.35 and medium LLC. My ddr5 is modestly overclocked from 6000 to 6400 for the time being. I need to re-learn how to overclock ram because a lot of bios settings have become more complex since ddr3-ddr4 days. From what I understand, Hynix A die modules should be able to overclock significantly higher frequencies - I just need to learn how to pull that off.

Favorite Feature
I tried something different (new to me, at least) with the cosmetic styling of this build. It's the first time I've ever had a hybrid graphics card (with an aio radiator built in) so I decided to try to do a vertical mount for the gpu and connect it with a pci-e 4.0 riser cable. The downside of this option is usually the fact that the fans on the gpu get starved for airflow up against a tempered glass panel. However, since the fan on the graphics card itself is of the blower variety, I thought I could pull it off with minimal negative impact on gpu temps.I realized I had a little extra room and so I decided to use the remaining space for a plastic figure of character from one of my favorite game series. This particular character uses a construct that is black with blue lighting. So that's why the primary rgb profile I'm running uses a dark blue/light blue/white spectrum.
