As evidenced by the title, there are a lot of placeholders currently here. The GPU is an old RX 580, the case is a mediocre darkFlash case, the AIO isn't installed, and there isn't a CPU yet. The AIO isn't installed specifically because I don't want to deal with messing up the pre-applied thermal paste when I don't have a CPU. Because of that, I left the AIO in the box on top of the case just to show that I actually have it. I'm currently planning to use the build log coupon from submitting this build towards the purchase of a 13700k. The RX 580 is a temporary GPU until the new AMD 7000 series GPUs are available in the coming weeks. In regards to the case, I'm planning to upgrade to something that supports an E-ATX motherboard in the near future, but don't want to purchase anything until I have clear dimensions of the GPU going inside. Otherwise I risk having clearance problems with my GPU and other components. Not pictured are other accessories like bright green individually sleeved PSU cables and a set of Lian Li RGB Strimers. It didn't really make sense to install them in a placeholder case to later need to take them out. I figure the more work I do setting things up in a placeholder case, the lazier I am going to get when it comes time to pull everything out and rebuild in the final case. I also have a second set of the RGB DDR5 I ordered from EVGA, but I'm waiting to see how well it runs on the Z690 classified in a 2dpc configuration before I include it. I have heard great things about 13th gen Intel memory support even on Z690 boards, so I'm optimistic that I should be able to hit the rated 6000 MT/s speeds even running 2dpc instead of 1dpc. Once the other parts I listed are available and installed, I'm planning to find a bunch of RGB accessories to fully illuminate the case. Right now I'm looking at replacing the EVGA AIO fans with some quieter ARGB fans, and putting some light strips in to really make this system glow.$1,623.96 -

It could still handle relatively modern games like the DOOM remake or Genshin Impact on Ultra, but suffered with any multitasking or true boundary-pushers like Cyberpunk 2077. Since my i5-3570k had long become the bottleneck, I originally intended to swap just CPU+Motherboard. But learning about how much the scene had changed in 10 years, I slowly found myself building a whole new PC. But I did my best to recycle parts to keep costs low. Still not sure what I'm going to do with the remains of the predecessor PC. Maybe throw in a weak PSU and decent SATA SSD and give it to an older relative.$1,629.96 -

I decided to build a PC in 2022 but wanted a high-end gaming PC under $1500. So, I wandered all PCpartpicker part lists to find the best deals, picking parts that fit my wallet without losing on the aesthetics. I found a 3080 used on marketplace for $480 and bought it without a PC to test if it was working until I built mine (2 months later). Since the seller said, he sold his PC and didn't have another PC to show me if it works. In the end, I pulled the trigger anyways since my urge to get a GPU was high (I checked every website to get one). I was playing with fire, don't do this absurd stupidity! Then working with this case was a pain, but aesthetics are also important. I already explained the reasons on the part reviews. I was planning to purchase only 16GB of ram to save some bucks($1450 build), but you have to go with 4 to get the perfect look. If you want more performance, go for ddr5 instead of ddr4 (the ddr5 version board was at the same price). I could have built a 32GB ddr5 ram with just $20 more, but you only get 2 bars of 16GB. It is called a budget build for a reason, so it's a no-no to buy 4 bars of ddr5 to get aesthetics. I would say this build has a balanced performance-aesthetic ratio. I also plan to buy cables to get even better aesthetics and more extension cables to fix the issue of insufficient ports to connect more devices on my fan controller—no light on my led strip for now. I will update the photos once installed in the future!$1,632.98 -

I built this rig to support high refresh rate gaming at 1440p. I am very happy with the results and I am glad I went with DDR5 as the i5 excels with it. The 6800XT was on sale and it is giving me amazing performance on MW2.$1,669.92 -

I have been waiting for the right opportunity to build a new gaming PC and with some reasonable GPU prices recently, I decided to take the plunge. I built this computer for my husband since his computer was crashing, having weird glitches, and running poorly. Troubleshooting listed a handful of potentially different hardware issues. This computer is built to handle gaming (co-op, survival, FPS, RPG, open world, puzzle, action) some programming, and some CAD for 3d printing (running Atom3d). Doesn't crash when playing Gunfire Reborn unlike previous computer. Plays newer games like Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and survival and adventure games like Mist and Rune Factory 5.$1,811.27 -

This is a build that I built for my dad that will hopefully last him around 5 years. He plans to use it mainly for coding, Photoshop, website design and video editing. Therefore plenty of RAM was necessary along with lots of fast storage. He also did not want it to take up too much desk space or be loud, hence the NR200 case and the Phanteks T30s. He didn't need anything too crazy for the processor and graphics card, although this will still be a huge upgrade from his current laptop.$1,919.91
