I had a intel i5 10500 + GTX1080 TI build 3 years ago. I gave the old PC to my younger brother, so he won't bother me no more for computer access. I am going to college soon, so I wanted a smaller PC to be able to move easily and won't take much space as I will be living in shared dorm my first year, so I went with this Mini-ITX case. I had concern about the air flow and temperature of the components when under load because this is a such small case, but it was all good. The CPU runs at ~40C idle and ~70C under load, GPU runs at ~30C idle and ~60C under load with 100% core voltage and maxed power and temp slider in msi afterburner.$2,129.95 -

AM5 Dark Starter Build AM5 Dark Starter Build

I have been looking to build my first pc for some time now, once I found out about the upcoming release of AM5 I figured I would wait until there was enough info on this new platform. Fast forward to the last few weeks I found the AM5 build combos on MicroCenter's website, and couldn't believe the savings! So I finally decided to pull the trigger and drive out to St. Davids PA location to finally purchase everything I needed to finally build my first ever PC.. I wanted a platform that I could upgrade over time but get a good base to help future proof what I could. I plan to do a custom hard line liquid cooled setup in the near future but for now just went with an air cooler. I play alot of Destiny 2, day trade in the crypto space, play web3 games and collect NFT's, as well as interested in taking my pencil drawn art and try out the digital age programs with a pen tablet. I believe this build is solid and will offer a nice starting point, the only thing I wish I would have just went with the 4080 strix card like I planned but backed out last minute in an attempt to save a couple bucks and i would have needed a bigger psu. With that said I can always upgrade down the road. Really enjoyed the knowledgeable staff and the one employee Max went above and beyond for me, i planned to purchase Windows 11 on usb but they were out of stock only had the CD so instead of trying to figure out how to make my own media drive which I don't have a laptop or another computer so Max said he didn't want me leaving without everything I needed so he gave me the CD and then had me buy a small USB drive during my checkout of my entire build, then had the tech team download the windows 11 media creation onto the USB for me! By the time I took everything out to my truck and loaded all my parts in and walked back into the store Max had the USB ready and handed it to me. MicroCenter gained a forever customer from me, I will never shop anywhere else not to mention the savings with the build combo (CPU, MOBO, 32GB RAM.) Super Hype, purchased everything wednesday (3-15-2023) and spent the day building and up and running the very next day no issues whatsoever!! Only thing left is to get cable management taken care of lol.$2,085.86 -

The "Early Adopter Tax" Build The "Early Adopter Tax" Build

I spent my college years wishing I could build a new gaming pc, but since I was on a college budget and gpus were on short supply, I had to wait until now to actually do it, so I went a little overboard. The whole point of the build was based around future compatibility for upgrades. AM5 should be the socket of choice for at least 3-4 years, the pcie and m.2 slots are gen 5 compatible, meaning that whenever the Gen 5 graphics cards and m.2 ssds are out, I can simply plug and play instead of upgrading around it too. The power supply also has the new 12vphr connector for next gen power supplies. Other than the aio, the entire tower was purchased from Micro Center. They ran a deal where the motherboard was $50 off and the ram kit was free with the purchase of a new Ryzen 7 or 9, which is quite a deal considering its 32GB of DDR5-5600. Although down the line I could see myself upgrading the ram. Micro Center Marietta was super helpful. Anyone from the ATL area should make the trip, the team they have there know their stuff and were super helpful with any of my questions or just to chat about random computer stuff. My biggest regret was probably the case. I picked the evo due to the modularity of it, however it is a wider case, and with only 63 in. of space on my desk, there is quite a bit of moving around to do. I got a compact (65%) keyboard, and mounted my PS5 on the wall. I also use my second monitor in a vertical configuration. The gray in the MC exclusive edition also kind of limits me to a purely monochrome build, which I don't mind too much, but it's weird having all these lights just be white the whole time. The PNY Verto is a strange card. I went to the store to by a Tuf 3070, but this was only $20 more. It's hard to find any details on this card anywhere, but if you're able to buy it at the $599 msrp price like I was, it's a worthwhile deal. Right now I'm just grinding some Valorant and Minecraft, with plans to play more serious (probably racing games/MW2) very soon once I get totally settled in. I'm also on the hunt for a better microphone/wireless headset setup, so if anyone has suggestions on what I could use for those in the near future, I'd appreciate it.$1,829.94 -

This is a small form factor PC I built in a Louqe Ghost S1 case primarily for gaming. I mostly play games like minecraft, VRChat and Factorio, although I also use it for CAD/engineering work. The center point of this build was the case, a very small machined aluminum case that was very challenging to build in but turned out really nice. The entire case fits in a shoebox, so fitting and cooling an RTX 3070 Ti and an i7-12700k was a challenge, but I managed to keep the GPU temps under 75 at full load and while a 20-core synthetic load causes the CPU to hit triple digits (that's why I call it the EZBake), this never happens during actual use. I had to modify some parts to make everything fit: The GPU had its shroud removed, the case had a few mm of metal dremeled off of the inside so the GPU fans wouldn't clip it, and the motherboard VRM heatsinks experienced some similar weight reduction to clear the heatpipes on the cooler.$2,793.86 -
