I originally built a PC almost two years ago and after a bunch of warranty replacements with different parts because the old ones were no longer available. The only original parts left now are the GPU, which I am hoping to get an EVGA FTW3 3080 hybrid when they are available, and the water cooler. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nxMvRT

Last October, in the midst of exam week, I spilt coffee on my gaming laptop. My budget was tight ($800ish) but my exam schedule even tighter, thus I had to act quick. I watched all the possible video tutorials on “how to build a PC” and researched the best “bang for buck” hardware in the time span of one weekend¬. I was anxious yet zealous at the same time. I went ahead and purchased all the parts from Microcenter, drove home with the slowest speed I’ve ever driven in my life, rolled up my sleeves, and my journey began. The whole process took me 8 stressful hours, during which I was constantly re-watching videos and checking if everything fit as it should. I was so jittery I even dropped my CPU but thankfully the Internet taught me I could bend the pins back with a card. Phewww. I was also able to reuse my HDD and the m.2 NVMe SSD from my dead laptop which was a big victory considering my budget. I couldn’t stop admiring my build for weeks and I have slowly but surely been upgrading parts ever since. I created a custom logo for myself and purchased a custom GPU bracket to make my design pop. I am a mechanical engineering student currently and I use my PC for AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, and to learn programming languages on the side. So far, I’m proficient in HTML, CSS, Javascript and beginner in JAVA, C++ and Python. In my free time, I enjoy playing Rocket League, PUBG, Among Us, Fall Guys, and the classic- FIFA. I also love listening to music and that is why I recently purchased the Hifiman HE4xx. Looking to buy an AMP and a DAC soon (another rabbit hole I am entering). I’m a very visually oriented person and love being able to match my peripherals and pc with RGB. Since I am not a fan of rainbow effects, I have synced all my devices to be split in half - one side light blue and the other dark blue. With the $500 gift card I am planning to majorly upgrade my system. I want to go from a Ryzen 2600x to a 5700x and add 16gb more RAM, so that I can create more complex models in SOLIDWORKS without hiccups. At the same time, I want to upgrade my GPU to a RTX3060 or 2070Super, which will be more than enough for 144Hz 1080p (hopefully for the horribly optimized PUBG too).

So I saved up and built this. I do everything on this now, everywhere from watching lectures to working on large CAD files and playing games. I've been playing games that I can play with my friends, like Valorant, Phasmophobia, GTA, Rainbow 6 Siege and such. For these games, the 1660 Super can handle 1440 pretty well, so for my first build, I'm very satisfied. In hindsight, I think getting a 20 series card would've been nice, especially for 1440p gaming, but a lot of the budget went to the monitor (which I like very much and I can't even look at the laptop display now) and getting a worse monitor for a better graphics card wouldn't make much sense. Also, getting a semi-modular/modular PSU would've been a good idea. I think I cable-managed pretty well, but it wasn't exactly the easiest. The single RGB fan came with the case, and that is the only RGB part outside the little strip that comes on the Aorus mobo. I put it on the back as it's the only place I can see the lights from

Hey everyone, my name is Askar and I was pretty new to computers two years ago when it all started for me. Was always a huge fan of Xbox and all FPS titles, but never got that immersion pc players would, so I decided to build one myself. Ever since then I have been building PCs every month or so, so far it's been around 17 builds for me, I use my rigs for everything, from gaming titles like: Call of Duty, Valorant, Siege; to making beats for my lyrics, since I hope to become a musician one day my builts really aspire me to work hard, just because how they look, I use my pc for work as well, I'm a part time SDET (software development engineer in testing ) so having a powerful pc is definitely major necessity for me. Since I build pcs every other month, I get to work with a lot of different parts: motherboards, cpus, ram sticks , fans and coolers, even power supplies. And one thing I have to mention is how far PC building has got from my first built with my dad in 2002 to now. Thank you!

I wanted to make a gaming rig that could also do some 3-D CAD. It currently has a 2700X and a GTX 1080. I mostly play Destiny 2, Beat Saber, CS:GO and many other VR games. I am also playing through all the Half Life games while I wait for Cyber Punk to come out. Obviously the most interesting part about this computer is the desk. It took about a month to make and is actually awesome. It is a modified desk where the desktop flipped up and had a storage area inside. I cut the top off, added the leg cut out, added fake wood inside, got a piece of tempered glass made for the top and added lots of RGB. It was a really fun project. Over time the desk itself has changed very little other than more RGB. Also, the computer inside has changed very little. It was going to get an upgrade to the 3070 but we all saw how that went down :( . Micro center ran out too quickly for me to get one. What has changed is on top of the desk. The computer now has 3 monitors. Also, I have built two keyboards. One is a Drop CTRL with holy panda’s and the other is an OLKB Planck with zilent 67g and C3 kiwi’s. Both are waiting for keycaps. I also upgraded to Sennheiser HD 6XX and built a Plex Server.

Built to run Lightwave 3D rendering software, as well as general usage. This is the first machine I have built in over 15 years. My last build was a dual AMD Athlon, and everything since then until now has been off-the-shelf stuff, so this is a big upgrade for me. Lightwave is a CPU renderer, not GPU, so the video card was not a major concern for me, but CPU cores and memory was.

So this system is not my only gaming rig but I built it to show off RGB and some cool parts that I have gathered up to put in it. It is called the Eagle One because it uses a lot of Gigabyte Aorus parts. I mostly use this system for VR gaming and play Beat Saber and Virtual Pinball and others using my Oculus Rift (Original). I started with a case that I liked and built it out from there. All the fans, memory and VGA card with back plate are full digital RGB have a ton of patterns that can be used. It has a custom Aorus RGB back plate for the Gigabyte GTX 1080 Xtreme, very sweet piece. Running 3 SSDs and 1 HDD so it has plenty of space for game loads and backups. I plan on getting a new 3000 series Aorus video card once I can find one in stock. On the desk is 2 32" 4K Monitor that provide me with all the video desktop space that I need.

I custom made the desk with ikea accessories to fit what I was looking for and added a slot beneath to hold my macbooks and accessories. The angled speakers are being held by pipe fittings and are connected to each computer via the built in mixer. Also, I upgraded to a Lian Li Mesh 2 case to allow the proper airflow to the 3080FE. I mostly use the pc to play squadrons VR using the oculus quest 2 and my son streams fortnite on his gamers facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/chuysgaming I use a mac mostly for music production with a thunderbolt dock to help connect all my peripherals. There's an outdoor TPlink access point (see picture through window) to give wifi access to the grill tv and cameras surrounding the house. Both monitors are hooked as a 2nd input to either the mac or pc to allow the extended desktop on whichever application I'm using. The one of the left is a 4k LG (mostly for the macbook) and the right monitor is an Asus VG27AQ running at 1440p 165hz. I'm always looking for better ways to upgrade the whole setup including the streaming parts of it. The portable green screen from elgato is also pictured on the corner. It's so easy to put away after each use. Most of these parts were found at my local Micro Center (St. Louis Park in Minnesota) which is 2 hours from where I live but well worth the drive as other retailers haven't had them in stock for months. The only thing I'm missing is a good comfortable gaming chair. Thank you Micro Center for looking out for us customers and I hope you guys like it.
