This was a build that I made for my friend who is a long-time Mac user and wanted to switch to Windows for gaming. My only constraint for the build was a hard budget of $800 USD, otherwise it was up to me to source the parts and put it together. I decided to go with the Micro Center AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D bundle as it came with both a Asus TUF GAMING B550-PLUS motherboard and G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB memory. This alone saved me around $180-200 in budget. I then decided to go with a Cooler Master 212 as it is a popular go-to cooler for budget builds. Through a Micro Center coupon, I was also able to snag an Inland Prime 1TB M.2 SSD for only $27. The power supply and case are nothing special, just budget options from what was available. I was lucky with my GPU find on eBay, I was able to get an EVGA XC3 ULTRA 3070 8GB for only $308 after shipping. There was one faulty fan, but I was able to find a replacement on AliExpress for only $10. Replacing the fan was very easy, though it required removing the front cover of the GPU off. Overall, this was a good learning experience as I had to find the cheapest possible alternatives to parts, and overall I think I did a pretty good job. The computer is able to play games such as ARK and CSGO 2 comfortably at 1080p 120hz on medium to high settings.$785.25 -

We researched parts for 2 months and built everything over Memorial day weekend. We took advantage of Microcenter's great prices (and price matching) for half of the items. The goal is that this will be a computer that will last him through high school. He's interested in gaming and programming. We made sure that there are options for him to expand in the future (dedicated GPU, more memory, etc). It was a great experience to learn how all the parts of a computer come together!$817.79 -

Built this rig generally for gaming, but its no slouch running a 13700k with a 360mm Aio for Overclocking. 32Gb of DDR5 running 7200 Megatransfers at a CAS Latency of 34 to make 9.444 Nanoseconds which is pretty snappy. 2 TB's of storage, One as a boot drive and for high performance programs, another dedicated to game storage both gen 4. Currently using my old 2080ti until 40series prices drop or 50series launches. Utilizing a 850watt 3.0atx Seasonic PSU that should be more than enough to upgrade to a 4080 or 5080 respectively with more headroom for OC later. All parts installed to a MSI z790 P Pro Wifi which has proven to be a sturdy backbone so far. Everything was placed in a Montech SkyTwo case with LianLi's UNI SL Infinity Fans to give it a beautiful ARGB aesthetic.$1,356.54 -

I finished up my first two semesters of college with a 3.7gpa so I decided to award myself with a new PC to game over summer break. Primary focus for the rig is gaming, but wanted to spend a little extra so that it's beefy basically enough to do anything since I'll be bringing with me back to my dorm next year.$1,969.92
