It was the last piece missing from my man cave. I wanted a clean build but powerful at the same time. I set the build up with dual 1440p ultrawide 100hz viewsonic monitors and an extra long hdmi to my 75” Samsung tv that is connected to my surround system via arc to the marantz receiver. This setup allows me to game at my desk or kick back on the couch with a controller. I also got a oculus quest with oculus link to play beat saber and Half Life Alyx!! I chose a EVGA 2080ti FTW3 ultra Oc to power all the monitors and TVs. I have made so many trips to microcenter during the building process I have become a regular and familiar with most of the associates at the St David’s location, btw they all rock! The complete specs are below: CPU: Ryzen 3600x Cooler: wraith prism GPU: evga 2080ti ftw3 ultra Oc RAM: trident z neo 3600 cl 16, 32gb Storage: nvme pcie 4.0 1tb, nvme pcie 3.0 1tb, seagate hdd 3tb 7200 Case: NZXT h710i VR: oculus quest connected via oculus link Monitors: 2x Viewsonic xg350r-c 1440p ultrawide, Samsung 75” 4K 7series Sound system: marantz 6008 receiver, dual mono block amps for front towers. He wanted to build a new system and give his old one to his sister. He didn't keep up with hardware news so he didn't know what to purchase and also didn't want to do the build by himself, so he asked me to help him. Build is used for gaming and school, and possibly streaming in the future. He is also considering video editing as a possible use for his system. To that end, I advised him to go with AMD and in the end, he just went with everything that I recommended. I'm a bit surprised that he wanted to go with water cooling, and honestly, it was my first time ever doing a custom loop for anyone. I wish that I had more time to polish the build (and manage the cables better), but I had to work at his place and be home at a reasonable time. Since he was a bit far away, I could only manage two visits: one for building the system itself and one for installing the soft tube loop when the parts finally arrived.$4,094.93 -

Haven't had a capable gaming pc in over 10 years and haven't actually built systems in over 20 years (my bro and I used to as teenagers). When my wife gave birth to our second son and we got a nice tax refund, my wife gave me the all-clear to get myself a new system. Bought a prebuilt at first but due to problems with the system and poor customer service, I returned it and got to researching my own build. The system started off on a Gigabyte board and NZXT case, but after more problems with certain parts, I ended up with an almost completely Corsair build. Out of all of the customer service issues I had to deal with, they are simply the best: no hassle, no run around, just fast RMA. As for the system, I use it to play mostly single player RPGs or FPS games. I love the Metro series, Divinity games, The Witcher games, Resident Evil, BattleTech and MechWarrior, Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Deus Ex, and so many others. Recently I played most of the latest games with real time ray traced effects and I'm eagerly anticipating where the technology is heading. Really looking forward to a couple of other games that will feature the technology in Cyberpunk 2077 and Vampire Bloodlines 2. Also really looking forward to Baldur's Gate 3. Currently enjoying Season 2 of The Division 2 with my brother, and really hoping that the next Control DLC will feature Alan Wake as many expect it to be! In the future, I hope to install a hard line custom loop, likely in the Hydro X series since I already have a Commander Pro and have already installed a soft tube Hydro X loop for a friend. Sadly, I can't find a water block for my card (they appear to be EOL both at EVGA and EKWB - Corsair doesn't make one for my model), so if I want to go custom loop, I'll probably have to get a new card. Otherwise, I don't really plan any other upgrades until I replace the system maybe in five years, especially since Z390 is also the end for upgrades.$4,927.85 -

The main use for this rig will Freelance UX/UI Design with a little bit of gaming as well. I've been a Mac user for 15 years and only used PC off and on to casually game. Now that I work-from-home almost exclusively and 2012 was the last time you could buy an upgradable Macbook Pro, I've decided to jump ship and move to something I can actually upgradable and more powerful. I'm very pleased with this setup, it has lots of power, memory, and storage. I am able to have tons of design applications and browser windows open with no performance issues. Now I just need to get used to Window's CTRL vs Mac's CMD which is in the same spot as ALT. The first day using this for my design work I hit ALT+Z about 400 times which brings up Geforce Experience overlay. LOL I built this computer using Micro Center's Custom PC Builder, reserved my parts online, and picked up my parts hours later. Pretty cool being able to put together a complete build and pick up your parts the same day. The Custom PC Builder has compatibility filters so it only shows parts that will work together based on your selections. Although build this computer myself because I really enjoy the building process. For a small fee, Micro Center offers a building service which they will put together the hardware, and make sure it posts. For a bit extra cost they can even install Windows, appropriate drivers, and make sure it's up and running before you pick it up. You could literally pick out your parts on a lunch break and pick up a working computer after work, they just need a 4-hour window to build it.$3,227.88 -

This is a top of the line Intel based gaming behemoth. All of the components were chosen because they were, and still are, top of the line for a gaming rig. The customer brought the machine in this year for a water cooling upgrade. Planning for the custom loop was rather difficult, as the open air design of the case does not leave very many mounting options. The final result was well worth the effort. The case used for this build is the InWin D-Frame 2.0, which comes equipped with a built in 1065w power supply.$4,940.51 -

This is the full components list for the PC Linus assembled in our Denver, Colorado store for his video about the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990x processor. In his video, Linus was tasked with assembling the following components to create an extremely powerful $10,000 workstation PC. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990x just launched yesterday on February 7, 2020. This processor has 64 cores, 128 threads, and 256mb cache. Linus made some alterations to the build on day of filming in order to water-cool the GPUs. He had a time crunch, but he got it done, and we really love the finished product!$10,808.41 -
