My last build was 7 years old and not compatible with the latest versions of Windows (not that I *really* wanted to make the switch). Upgrading the DDR-3 ram to DDR-4 or 5 would require upgrading the motherboard, upgrading the motherboard would require upgrading the processor, an upgraded processor would make my GPU a bottleneck... So I'd basically be building a whole new PC. So I built a whole new PC. It's about half the size, as well. I mostly plan to use it for gaming. I've been playing a lot of Darktide and Hogwarts Legacy, planning on playing some Cyberpunk as well. Also Guild Wars (1), but this PC doesn't change the way I play games from 2007 at all. I also homebrew tabletop rpgs and make character sheets for games I like with character sheets I don't like. In the future I may buy a monitor that supports more than 60hz, and maybe a mechanical keyboard without a num pad, since I really only use it to type in my pin these days, and it will save on desk space.$2,247.86 -

To celebrate the opening of a Microcenter near to me, and because I needed a computer sooner than I could save up for the parts I wanted, I decided to do a challenge where I would build a computer using ONLY the grand opening deals they had. So far I love this PC, and it has been able to run my needs (Ark: Survival Evolved, Anno 1800, FF XIV) with the exception of Cities Skylines, but that may be software related (it won't actually load and run.) Otherwise, for a computer that cost only 2/3rd to a half of what it would otherwise be, I am quite happy with this first of hopefully many PC builds with a local MicroCenter.$2,300.86 -
Mini Workstation Mini Workstation

Introducing my latest creation, a build that combines power, efficiency, and aesthetics to cater to both my professional and personal computing needs. At the heart of this machine is the mighty Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core CPU, coupled with NVIDIA RTX A4000 workstation GPU, 64GB of 3200MHz RAM, all nestled mostly* inside the sleek and compact Fractal Terra Mini case. Why I Built It: As a manufacturing engineer, I work extensively with software and require a system that can effortlessly manage complex modeling in SolidWorks and render Unreal Engine graphics. Simultaneously, as a lifelong gaming enthusiast, I wanted a rig capable of delivering unparalleled gaming experiences. From my daily work routines to unwinding with the latest AAA titles, this build fits the bill. This rig has transformed my workflow, enabling faster render times, smoother gaming experiences, and overall improved efficiency. Professional Work: In my profession, time and precision are of the essence. Whether it's modeling intricate designs in SolidWorks or handling software integral to manufacturing engineering, the synergy of Ryzen 9 and NVIDIA RTX A4000 makes my work more efficient and enjoyable. Gaming: As a gamer, I wanted a system that can conquer the latest AAA titles and provide immersive gameplay. With the powerful combination of Ryzen 9 and NVIDIA RTX A4000, I've been playing games like Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and NFS Heat at ultra-high settings without breaking a sweat. Modeling and Graphics: For my professional pursuits, this build shines in applications like SolidWorks, where precision and performance are paramount. Unreal Engine graphics projects come to life like never before, rendering in real-time and allowing me to explore my creativity in new dimensions. Future Upgrades & Hindsight: In the future, I might explore adding expanded storage capacity to accommodate larger projects. Overall, I am ecstatic with the result. Conclusion: This build is more than just a computer; it's a reflection of my professional life as a manufacturing engineer and my love for gaming and technology. It's a hub for creativity, relaxation, and connection, playing a central role in my daily life. I welcome fellow engineers, gamers, and enthusiasts to share their thoughts, insights, or simply join in the conversation. Let's connect and continue to innovate!$2,174.91 -

I mainly play rhythm games and COD:MW (2019) but also play modded Minecraft, VRChat & Beat Saber. So I wasn't really planning on building a new pc anytime soon but my old build was starting to show it's age plus it exploded. Upgraded from a 6700K (Not OCed) paired with a GTX 970 and compared to this it's not even close in terms how much more powerful this one is. I mainly just played old games on a 4K 60Hz monitor so it wasn't really a problem but when I started to dabble in VR I needed a bit more. I don't tend to upgrade unless absolutely necessary. Which when my old PSU decided it wanted to fry all the components I took as the time to upgrade. Bought my first high refresh rate monitor and can't believe how I never purchased one sooner. VR and high refresh rate gaming are an absolute dream. Temps stay plenty cool even under load thanks to the AIO and airflow focused case.$2,804.91 -

This is my main computer, used for playing games (MTG:A, Nier, ONI), doing coding (git, Visual Studio), and often a lot of creative projects (Adobe/Affinity Suite, Blender, Unity). The primary objectives of this build are efficacy (it should run everything I want) and durability (it should run everything I want for the next decade). I did not upgrade my initial rig since 2014, so this build did not use any previous parts.$2,229.91 -

I built this rig in order to run all games at a smooth framerate in high - max settings, and also wanted an accelerated PC to run multiple programs, stream and invest into digital art as well. Art and gaming are my two passions and I wanted a max-end PC that would support both endeavors and multiple activities.$4,103.87
