In the bustling town where I grew up, there weren't many options for computer enthusiasts like me. Sure, there were a handful of small computer shops scattered around, each offering a mishmash of components, but none could compare to the tech haven that is Microcenter. My journey into the world of building PCs began amidst these humble surroundings. Armed with determination and a modest budget, I scoured the shelves of these local stores, piecing together my first rig. It wasn't perfect, but it was mine—a testament to my budding passion for all things tech. As I tinkered with my creation, learning the ins and outs of hardware assembly, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more out there, something beyond the limitations of my small town's offerings. That something turned out to be Microcenter. The first time I set foot in that gleaming megastore, I felt like a kid in a candy shop. Row upon row of pristine components stretched out before me, gleaming under the fluorescent lights. It was a paradise for any PC enthusiast, with shelves stocked high with the latest processors, graphics cards, and peripherals. But it wasn't just the sheer variety of products that captivated me—it was the expertise of the staff. Unlike the often clueless employees at the local shops, the Microcenter team were true professionals, eager to share their knowledge and offer advice on even the most obscure tech questions. Armed with the resources of Microcenter and the guidance of its knowledgeable staff, I embarked on my next build with newfound confidence. Gone were the days of settling for "okay" parts; now, I had access to the best of the best. With their help, I carefully selected each component, ensuring that my new rig would be a masterpiece of performance and reliability. As I sat back and admired my completed build, I couldn't help but marvel at how far I'd come. From humble beginnings in those small-town computer shops to the pinnacle of PC building excellence at Microcenter, my journey had been nothing short of extraordinary. And as I powered up my new rig for the first time, I knew that the best was yet to come. At its core lay the beating heart of my creation, the Intel i7 8700k, a processor as reliable as it was powerful. With its six cores and twelve threads, it was the engine that drove my digital adventures, powering through the most demanding of tasks with ease. Surrounding it, like loyal soldiers standing guard, were 32GB of RAM, a veritable army of memory, ready to tackle any challenge I threw their way. And nestled snugly within the belly of the beast was a lightning-fast 1TB SSD, its silent whispers promising swift load times and snappy system responsiveness. But it was the crown jewel of my rig—the RTX 2070 SUPER GPU—that truly set it apart. With its ray-tracing prowess and blistering rendering speeds, it transformed every pixel into a masterpiece, bringing my virtual worlds to life with unparalleled beauty and realism. Together, we embarked on a journey unlike any other, a journey into the heart of gaming and streaming glory. From the darkest dungeons to the farthest reaches of outer space, we traversed virtual landscapes with skill and determination, our every triumph and defeat broadcast to an eager audience of fellow adventurers. But it wasn't just about the games—it was about the connection. With my powerful rig, I streamed in crystal-clear HD, my every word and gesture captured with stunning clarity. And as I interacted with my viewers, sharing stories and swapping strategies, I felt a sense of camaraderie unlike anything I'd ever known.

Mostly new parts but bought CPU and case with fans second hand and a few things on deals or with coupons savings money. Putting it together was very easy after watching videos and reading manuals. Just need to take time and be firm but delicate with parts. As for bios settings, using Intel POR helps keep everything cool and playing games with no hassle. Fans don’t get very loud when going full blast so generally a very pleasant experience using the PC so far.

My objective was to build a rig on the premise of cost efficiency vs. having the right hardware to get the job done. The problem was temptation. Man that 4090 comes to mind! I did choose to go the AM4 platform's route though. It is a solid choice in my view because it is AMD's best product vs. price to date. Performance turned out to be really good as well. Although it is an older platform I'm still playing games like God of War, Cyberpunk, Doom Eternal, Horizon, and Call of Duty III at more than satisfactory levels. The graphics are still eye-catching and that 6800 XT is a beast and was a great choice for this build! Temperatures are great when gaming as well. I did stress test it with Cinebench R23 and AIDA64 and those results did not even approach borderline.

I've been wanting to build a new PC for quite some time now, and seeing all the Fractal North builds really pushed me to build one of my own. I set a budget of $1600 for this build and the build was about that much after taxes are included. I went for the white case because most of my furniture is white or wood so it fits in perfectly. I've been using it daily for about a week now and it's been great! Super fast and quiet. I love it!

I built this PC mostly for home office use since I already have a gaming PC. I wanted this to be quiet and sleek, but also provide as much performance as possible while staying under $1500. To cut costs, I omitted RGB lights since those usually cost a premium. So far it's been handling everything I need it for - Photoshop, Illustrator, Fusion 360, and Blender.

Built around the Microcenter 7800x3D bundle with the Gigabyte B650 Gaming X MB and G.Skill Flare X5 RAM. I wanted to go with something similar to the Lian Li case but found a much cheaper case from a brand I’ve never heard of but achieves the same look. Really just wanted to get something with glass panels to show off all the Arctic RGB matching fans. Also found a cheap CPU cooler that was a dual tower design to keep the 7800x3D cooled.

Got the best APU for AM4 the 5700G with Noctua L9a. Always try to stick with Asus Strix Motherboards so got the best ITX available the Strix X570-I. Paired it up with the HyperX Predator 64GB 3600MHz and Samsung 980 Pro 1TB. I mainly use this as a HTPC connected to my LG OLED and use something called Moonlight/Sunshine to stream my games from my main build. Highly recommend anyone who already has a high end build and still wants to be able to go to a different room and stream their games from another PC without moving the actual PC around.

I built this computer with the NVIDIA GeForce 3060 Ti, Ryzen 7 CPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD to create a versatile powerhouse that can handle both gaming and creative tasks with ease. As a gamer, I'm drawn to titles that demand high-performance hardware to fully immerse myself in their worlds. With this setup, I dive into the latest AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Call of Duty: Warzone, experiencing smooth gameplay and stunning visuals at high settings. The NVIDIA GeForce 3060 Ti ensures that I can enjoy these games at high resolutions with fast frame rates, delivering an immersive gaming experience. Beyond gaming, I'm also a content creator, producing videos and streaming gameplay on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. The Ryzen 7 CPU's multi-threaded performance allows me to edit videos smoothly and handle streaming tasks without any lag. The 16GB DDR4 RAM ensures that multitasking is a breeze, whether I'm editing videos, streaming, or browsing the web simultaneously. In hindsight, one potential upgrade could be increasing the RAM to 32GB for even smoother multitasking and future-proofing the system. Additionally, considering the fast-paced advancements in technology, I might have opted for a higher-tier GPU if budget allowed, to ensure longevity and better performance in upcoming games and applications. Overall, this build strikes a perfect balance between gaming performance and content creation capabilities, allowing me to pursue my passions with confidence and efficiency.

My computer build is a multi-purpose system and also a love letter to the amazing retro cases from Caselabs. Caselabs went bankrupt in 2018 due to the increase in import tariffs. So, to this day, finding any Caselabs product is rare and treated as collectible. My computer build features a Caselabs S3 with a black interior and white exterior. It is water-cooled using EKWB fittings and waterblocks. The coolant is a Mayhems pastel coolant that changes colors from yellow to green depending on the light. I use my computer for school, but I also built it to play 4k games without breaking a sweat. Some of the best games I've played using this computer are Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn, SMITE, and Elden Ring. Some improvements I would make would be to make the custom cables shorter, just so I can reach the drain valve a little easier.
