I'm so excited to share the rig I put together myself about 7 years ago! I have upgraded the parts obviously, but looks wise are about the same. It gets me through my engineering work in KiCad and Onshape, but its main job is gaming! I play pretty much anything creative, scary, or intense—Minecraft, Satisfactory, Lethal Company, and Forza are some of my favorites. I'm also a huge Nintendo fan, so I had to give it a retro crossover with its own Raspberry Pi sidekick, currently hooked to my TV. The absolute heart of the build is the PowerColor Red Devil 9070, along side WALL-E. I saved up forever for it and literally bought the last one they had. Best feeling ever! I also am running EndeavourOS(Arch Linux)! PS: The PC is red and white because it represents BNL, red and white :) Also this is a LOT of money into WALL-E!!!$1,517.92 -

I talked to people and asked for prices for building me one but they wanted entirely too much money. I've built full arcade systems and installed Raspberry Pi's before, so I figured I would take a chance at building my own pc. I like to game on my pc well as do work, and stream. I started doing plenty of research and asking questions at Micro Center. There was a bald guy (Caucasian) with an ear piecing. I believe his name was Tim Hill. He was so polite and professional!!!! I came to the store on three different occasions and I would run into him and he would help me. He's truly an honorable guy! I wanted a DragonBall theme and started downloading lots of pics and videos and edited them for this build. I also ordered several figurines and picked which ones I liked best to install in the pc. I had to disassemble the figurines from their bases and use a grinder to smooth down everything. It truly turned out to be a work of art!!!!!!!$2,894.19 -

"This is my custom PC build, designed for both high-performance gaming and productivity tasks: CPU: Ryzen 9 5950X – Built for smooth multitasking and handling demanding workloads effortlessly. GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3080 – Provides stunning visuals and performance for 4K gaming and creative tasks. RAM: 64GB DDR4 – Future-proof and capable of handling anything I throw at it. Storage: 2TB Samsung 970 NVMe – Dedicated to gaming for fast load times. 990 NVMe for Windows – Ensures my operating system runs like a dream. 2x 1TB WD SSDs – Excellent for extra storage and projects. 14TB Seagate HDD – The ultimate archive for media, backups, and more. Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X570-E – Packed with premium features and reliable performance. Case: XPG Battlecruiser – A sleek case that combines aesthetics with great airflow. Power Supply: ROG Strix 1000W – Solid and dependable power for my setup. Cooling: Thermaltake 90mm CPU cooler (single fan) – Keeps the CPU temps under control. This build powers through my favorite games, including Cyberpunk 2077, God of War, The Witcher 3, Skyrim, The Last of Us, Star Wars Outlaws, Alan Wake 2, Black Myth: Wukong, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and the Silent Hill 2 remake. Performance on ultra settings has been incredible so far, and I’m really enjoying the experience. Looking ahead, I’m hoping to upgrade to the RTX 5070 when it releases to push the performance even further. I might also explore enhanced cooling solutions, but for now, this setup is everything I need.$2,504.93 -

My main goal with Redshift was converting the processor and graphics card to AMD and this build accomplishes that. In the previous build, I mentioned that Redshift was the only desktop computer in the household, but not anymore. As for Redshift, that computer still has the same components from the last time that I updated it and has become a computer that my sister uses often. The variety of keystones have been an interest of mine and traveling has exposed me to the international applications of the IEEE standards. HomePro is a major home improvement store in Thailand and their layout is pretty similar to U.S. home improvement retailers (without the woodworking section). However, they differ in one of the most important aspects: customer service. It is on par with the assistance that Micro Center offers, but the pricing is something to be desired. Anyways, the brand that I went with is Panasonic (although there were other recognizable brands like Philips and Schneider Electric) because they were extensively used in the places that I visited. There are also some features that are built-into the keystone which I found interesting such as the spring-loaded sliding dust cover, punch-down tool attached to the snap-on cover, and ability to insert the twisted pairs without untwisting them. I would admit that these are all unnecessary features; especially when provided the necessary tools like the ones included in the Eclipse Enterprise Network Tool Bundle.$3,676.48 -

I originally wanted to build in this exact case but it would not have aarrived when I wanted to build the PC. By chance I found this after my first build and gave it a shot. Not a bad little case. It was a little tight but that goes for most mATX cases that are not dual chambered. The build was an excellent performer. Way better than I imagined when I compare it to my previous experience on a RTX 3060 TI graphics card. It handle games really well with vram to spare. It was a little warm but not abnormally warm. If I were to do this build differently, I would buy Asiahorse cable extensions 16awg and a right angle adapter for the type c connector. Although fine as it is, it still gives me a slight worry. As well as a possible gpu repaste. That would probably be about it for what I would do.$498.00 -

The "UltraGame Dominator" was designed to be an absolute gaming powerhouse capable of crushing modern titles at ultra settings with impressive FPS numbers. With a Ryzen 5 5600X at the core and an RTX 3060 12GB GPU, this rig is built to provide smooth performance in a wide variety of competitive games like Fortnite at 360+ FPS, Warzone at 200+ FPS, and GTA FiveM at 200+ FPS, even at high/ultra settings. These specs ensure that I have an edge in fast-paced games like Valorant, CS, and Rainbow Six Siege, where high frame rates are essential. The 32GB of RAM ensures excellent multitasking, while the combination of a Kingston NVMe2 SSD and a Samsung 990 EVO guarantees lightning-fast boot and load times for both the operating system and games. The inclusion of Wi-Fi makes this build versatile, allowing me to game or stream wirelessly if needed, and Windows 11 provides the latest gaming optimizations. Besides gaming, this machine also serves as a content creation platform, where I edit gameplay footage and stream to Twitch. With the included keyboard, mouse, and microphone, it's a well-rounded setup for gaming, streaming, and video editing. In hindsight, I might consider upgrading the GPU in a few years or possibly adding custom cooling or RGB for more visual flair. Future upgrades could also include expanding the storage as newer games require more space.$921.94 -

I put this together mainly because I needed a powerhouse that could handle my gaming needs without breaking a sweat. I'm mostly into AAA titles—think Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3, and some of the newer FPS games like Call of Duty: Warzone. This rig handles them at high settings without any hiccups. The 850W power supply gives me plenty of overhead for overclocking too. Looking back, I might have gone with a 2TB SSD because these games don’t just sit light on storage, and it fills up quick. Down the line, I’m considering adding another SSD for more space, maybe even pushing it to a full custom loop for cooling just to get that extra performance edge and maintain aesthetics.$1,359.92
