I had been using my old PC for the previous five years when I realized it was time to replace. I couldn't wait and chose to go with this build; first, I hesitated to use water cooling but decided against it since I didn't want to deal with the maintenance procedure over the long run. I've installed over 9 fans, and it runs without a hitch (I'm partially deaf, lol). Although the 3080 ti was overkill for the price, it has been performing fantastically and can pretty much handle any game without breaking a sweat. Storage-wise, this build's weakest area, I'm hoping to make additional room for 2TB because I was incredibly pressed for time. Overall, this gaming setup was obviously overkill, but I don't regret it. After using my five-year-old budget-built computer, I've been doing research on what parts I feel are worthwhile acquiring and what's good for my long-term use, assuming that I do everything on a daily basis. I multitask while gaming, streaming, and editing videos on my computer. If I had to sum up this entire construct in one sentence, I would say that it was worthwhile and I have no regrets at all.$1,982.94 -

To get better performance than this you would have to spend substantially more for minimal performance gain. I tested in 1080p with competitive settings, but it can easily handle 1440p and depending on the title.. 4k. All the parts are new except for the gpu, which I bought used and stress tested. This year seemed like a good time to remake one.... Until the gpu shortage :( I lucked out and was able to score one via Microcenter (thank you!!!). This year my favorite video game, hands down, was Ace Combat 7. A genre I never knew existed, yet wanted to play my whole life. I'm obsessed! So as tribute I decided to start styling my new build with a Ace Combat-ish theme. A F18 inside the chassis and using the LianLi AL-120s to create a shift blue hue that gets darker going up, mimicking the sky getting darker as you ascend.$2,534.94 -

I originally wanted a PS5 but I couldn't get my hands on one so I decided to build a PC. While doing research and watching a bunch of videos of what parts to buy/ good brands, the 3080 TI went on sale and a friend pointed it out, so I ended up picking it up for just over $900. Then I was hooked, didn't take me long after that to finish the build. It came out with pretty good cable management, which was a priority when building it and for my first time building one, I think it looks pretty good. I use it mainly for gaming, but also everyday type stuff as well, like watching YouTube, Netflix, etc.$2,687.91 -

Reasons include moving constantly and needing to use my funds elsewhere. With the past two years though it was COVID and the GPU shortage that got me hurting in terms of completing the build. This rig is meant to last me over the next half-decade and let me enjoy old favorites and new games alike with an entirely improved experience. Times are rough right now, especially with Russia's war declaration on Ukraine and I don't know what more is gonna happen in this uncertain future... so I made the call to invest now before things get even worse. Self-care and stress release is important folks. Stay safe and game well!$3,139.94 -

The name of my system is Challenger because when I started my build back in 2013 it was a challenge to build. Eventually it was challenger to build it better and faster. The performance got better and better every generation. The purpose of my build is for gaming, photo editing, Video editing, light graphic design, web design, and some crypto mining when I'm not using it for watching movies. As you can tell my system has always been put to the test, that is why I have a 1000 watt PSU and 32gb or RAM to make sure I can support anything I throw at it. Before this new model I had a an intel i9-990K and that did great until this 12th gen of CPU's. The 3080ti really comes alive when it comes to games like Red Dead II and Far Cry 6. I didn't my best could get better but it did when I up graded my system to the 12th Gen CPU. All of this performance is viewed by my Alienware 34" Ultra wide 4k Monitor at 120hz. I was truly amazed when I was playing Far Cry 6 at an average of 110fps at 4k when I first played it on this system. I haven't edited any video yet but the moment I get a product I know it will go by in a flash. The Corsair 4000D case was a tight fit for this rig but it really made a complex system look super clean and simple. I was never really into RGB fans but since everything had RGB I had to buy them and now I'm a fan. lol I'm used to full PC cases but now there is no such thing as a full size case any more since they cover the bottom end with a PSU cover. So if you are like me and had an old full size case with no PSU cover, keep it if you ever want to add a second card for any reason. The Corsair 4000D fits a full size ATX motherboard but that last PCIE slot is going to be just for show. Nothing more than one card fits ion this mid size tower and that also goes for the full size frame as well. This the first time time that I have bought an Asus ROG Maximus Hero motherboard and this board is nothing but high class. You truly get what you pay for in this board. The only thing you'll be sorry about is the price but once you open the box and see all the cool features it comes with you'll be excited to plug it in. The board comes with so many features it would take too long for me to list them but I will say that there is a button that helps you release your GPU from the board which is super helpful. The board also support about 4 NVME SSD's, Two on the board and two on an addition PCIE attachment that comes with the board. This board also has a pretty interesting display that is not that bright but very cool to look at. The board also has plenty of slots for those of you that like to build custom water cooled rigs. I personally use a Corsair AIO cooler H100I Elite Capellix and it does just fine. Mixed with 3 RGB 120mm Fans in the front and 2 120 fans on the cooler and 1 to the rear of the case. So there is RGB all over this Challenger. The only place that doesn't have RGB is my Gigabyte 3080ti and my Corsair RAM. This leads me to remind everyone that if you are upgrading to the 12th Gen CPU's you can't use DDR4 RAM you need DDR 5. I had to learn that the hard way and they aren't cheap right now, so to save some money I purchased the Corsair 32GB 5200mhz RAM kit without RGB at around $300. Anything at that size with RGB will cost you an arm and a leg right now.$4,025.93 -

I went to rebuild my rig to an all-white build, and ended up with an opportunity to upgrade CPU, MoBo, & PSU while doing so. 99% of the time this PC is on it is gaming, with half of the time streaming from it while gaming (on my Facebook Gaming Page, WhyNotDonP3). I mainly play Warzone, Battlefield 2042, Battlefront 2, AC Odyssey & Valhalla, with some others sprinkled in here and there. Biggest thing I did on this build was take my time while doing all the wiring routing & cable management to get it done right. I installed all the fans & controllers first, installed the motherboard, connected the fan controllers & case I/O to the MoBo, then ran and tidied up all the fan & RGB headers, tidied up the case I/O wires nice and tight, then ran the easy to run PSU Cables, for an overall nice and clean back panel. It helped that this case (Corsair 5000D Airflow) was very easy to build and do cable management.$4,144.66 -
