This PC was built as a specific stand-alone platform for encoding high definition videos and interfacing with a large storage pool NAS. Many of the encoded videos specifically use the Intel Quick Sync feature of the Core i7-13700K CPU. Raw video footage is pulled directly from the NAS, encoded, and re-uploaded (hence the 1TB WD Black SN770 NVME SSD being the only local storage needed). I chose the i7-13700K over the i9 models as the Quick Sync capabilities are identical. Sometimes CPU encoding is done for specific reasons. I find the 13700K adequate for that as well (although the power consumption is notably higher, the AIO keeps things silent). The power supply is quite large and also contributes to near silent operation. Overall, an excellent machine that should provide many years of service!

  ok, i honestly rebuilt this desktop pc in a sweeping upgrade simply because i wanted to. but for meaningless... ok, i honestly rebuilt this desktop pc in a sweeping upgrade simply because i wanted to. but for meaningless self-justification that exists and/or matters only in my head, the justification for doing this upgrade (or "excuse") is that i recently was gifted an ultrawide monitor. different resolution, different hardware demands, right? i wanted a few key upgrades in some critical areas such as the ability to overclock ddr5 ram at higher frequencies. anyway after all these years, the game im still playing the most is CS2.

I decided after years and years of using a gaming laptop that enough was enough and it was time to do a proper PC upgrade so I could play whatever I wanted while having as many internet browser tabs open without the fans sounding like a rocket at liftoff. Originally had in mind a smaller case and a cheaper build but as the GPU shortage affected what I could get and with the launch of Intel's 12th gen CPUs I decided to spec it higher. I was a bit limited by what I had already bought at that point (primarily the AIO, would get a 360mm if I could go back and redo it). I knew I wanted a white build and since I've been playing Genshin Impact since day one, I decided to theme this build around Celestia / Mondstadt and my favourite characters. The Corsair 5000D Airflow comes with a grey bezel and feet which I removed and spray painted gold.
