Originally assembled for gaming, this sturdy build has seamlessly transitioned into a reliable archive server. The Cooler Master Enforcer chassis, though missing its side panels from multiple moves, houses an ASUS P8P67-M PRO motherboard, paired with a Corsair RM1000 PSU to ensure ample power supply. The Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) 1600MHz DDR3 RAM complements the Intel Core i5-3570 CPU, which is cooled by a trusty Intel stock cooler. Graphics are managed by intel integrated graphics, making it versatile for both archival and light graphical tasks. Storage expansion is facilitated by an LSI 9201, adding to its archival prowess. Despite its battle-worn exterior, The Archive Guardian stands as a robust and dependable server, preserving data with the same dedication it once brought to gaming adventures.$659.96 -

This Ryzen 9 rig is essentially a virtual musical instrument. This application puts as much emphasis on audio as a gaming setup puts on video. Its primary function is to run an app called jOrgan which simulates pipe organs and is controlled via external MIDI input. The app creates a fully customized organ simulator data file called a 'disposition' based on the user description of the type of organ desired then uses this data along with sample files and MIDI input from the organ console to activate a sample player that outputs to an external audio system. The setup is essentially a huge sample player controlled by a vintage Theater Pipe Organ console with 3 manuals or keyboards, 117 stops and 9 MIDI channels playing through a 700 watt RMS speaker system consisting of two 15" three-way cabinets and two independent 15" subwoofer cabinets. The high quality audio output is provided by a Personus USB audio and MIDI outboard interface, about the audio equivalent of a 4090. The room the organ is in was essentially built around the organ when the house was built. The instrument is the equivalent of a 24 rank (rank=a set of pipes) 1,800 pipe Theater Pipe Organ. For those in the know about theater organs, it is a little larger than a WurliTzer Publix I, with one less keyboard. Soon after the rig was built, I expanded the RAM to 64 gig. This is not shown in the photos. The rig is also used with a DAW (Cakewalk) and looping app (ZeroX) to create, edit and loop the 3,500 samples (so far) used in the organ simulation as well as to voice and balance the instrument. The DAW is also used to program the percussion sequencer, an Arduino based unit I built and programmed to be used as a 'drum machine." Since I chose to include an Nvidia 4070 in the build, I may have to explore gaming some time as well. The Unigine Heaven DX11 scores are through the roof! The audio from games and movies on this sound system has to be heard to be believed.$2,418.91 -

Built this with the purpose of a small foot print PC for my parents who needed a new PC where their old HP i3 desktop PC stopped working all of the sudden. Attempted to troubleshoot it, but using a different PSU didn't fix it, so it must be the CPU or MB, and of course being a specialized one with an old i3 processor, it wasn't worth fixing. Decided to build one out for them and would be easy to fix things if things stopped working by replacing it with modern parts if needed. No GPU in this build as the 5600GT APU is more than enough as it has an integrated GPU and still be able to do what it needs to. Mainly shopping on amazon, stock look up, printing and basic storage of digital files/pictures. The old PC had a 7200 RPM hard drive and we opted to get a 1TB NVME SSD and it made things WAY faster than it was before, with only 15 second boot up, opening files is significantly faster. I did find most of the parts on sale through Microcenter (open box), Amazon, or NewEgg. While the OEM pre-built PCs would have done the job, I always wanted to build a SFF PC and this was an opportunity to do so. Sits at the corner of the desk with minimalistic look.$545.00 -

I always have liked to build my own PC compared to a pre-built desktop or a laptop. It lets me get the best bang for my bucks and also customize it the way I like. Regarding usage, it was mainly built for gaming, programming, watching movies and general day-to-day usage. My friends used to come to my house and play games (specially Apex: Legends) and we liked watching movies together (specially horror movies on the Xiaomi 34" Ultrawide screen at night!)$3,112.97 -

My younger brother has been wanting a new PC but because we can't really afford an entirely new build, I built him this using mostly old parts and some new ones. The GPU, PSU, and RAM sticks are new. Not a professional builder, but I did a lot of research on reddit and pc building sites. I came to the conclusion that with $1.5k budget it's best to get AMD cpu and gpus for the best performance. The build took me the whole day but got done eventually. It lights up on the first try. And it's been working great since. After installing the drivers, I had several games tested in 1440p, and they run perfectly smooth.$1,347.92 -

I built it because my last PC was extremely outdated (AMD Radeon RX 560 Cyberpower PC from 2017) and I wanted to have a fun time gaming rather than experience exhausting load in times paired with choppy gameplay. I want to play all competitive FPS shooters and Battle Royal games. I will stick to my PS5 to play story mode games but every other type of game will be played on my PC. No planned future upgrades as I got mostly the latest parts but in retrospective I would have gone with a different AIO because the Arctic Liquid Freezer III was so difficult to work with. Overall an insane rig and I will use it for many many years to come.$1,764.94
