Apparently, 11 out of 10 case mods currently are Cyberpunk 2077 themed, so I guess if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Of course, it had to be water cooled, too, and I haven't water cooled a system since the days of cutting your own window in a beige case and milling your own waterblocks. Thankfully, though, The days of shopping the plumbing department of Ace Hardware are a thing of the past, and I can just walk into a store and pay an entire seperate computer's worth of money for premade stuff! Having a 3d printer department in a store that's not located on a starship somewhere in the future was also amazingly helpful, and made the relearning curve of this entire mod bananas. Now I have an entirely new hobby that my wife can yell at me for enjoying. My initial vision was of a custom reservoir with a cyborg floating inside, with blood red fluid running through the tubes, like the sci-fi movie cliche where swimming in goo replaces all hospital beds, but then i realized that this is not my day job, so i improvised and bought a kit. I mean, what's a cyberpunk theme without a bubbling vat of person? The future is also shaped like a hexagon, so I added an aluminum hexagon pattern to the front panel of my case, and partly on top. I added 40 caliber shells with magnets inside, to the back panel for extra awesome. I've been eye-balling the Phanteks Enthoo 719 for some time, because I love full tower cases, and this sucker is a beast. Also, who has 2 thumbs and finally saved up enough money for a 2080 ti 2 months before the 30xx series is released? Oh yeah, this guy! Honestly, the card was worth the long wait, and chugs along maxed out at 4k, at around 37 degrees. Now all that was left was to bleed the system for a week straight, and add a half gallon of water to an improvised vase on the top of my case. This adventure is not for the faint of heart, and gives me nightmares, but the enthoo 719 weighs about as much as a Space X Falcon Heavy, so it should hold. The logo, fan grill, and cylinder base were all printed with a Creality CR-10. The base is just an enlarged fan grill available on Thermaltake's website. Homage paid to Akira and Elysium in the form of exoskeleton spine parts used as a cable cover.

Walking through Micro Center one day to get a new fan for my good old Raidmax Smilodon case and made the mistake of walking past the cases, saw a core P3 black on the shelf and had to build one for myself, and so it began, which color which was a back and forth decision for some time. Had to bail on building it few times due to other circumstances and just kept researching and getting parts over I would say 2 to 3 years, some accessories are past over from last build though. Built it for gaming and just general use, do a little go-pro video editing from time to time. Really do not have any upgrade plans for the tower at this time but we all know how fast that can change. Definitely would like to in time upgrade old been through it all desk that started as a U desk and due to space keeps getting smaller and also some better cable management for the desk. Custom loop would also be a possible upgrade but do not like the idea of constantly changing the coolant and I like simple (LOL) so to be determined, that being said next will more then likely be VR. Types of games really I am all over the place, it is really whichever I got hooked on for the moment. Forth build I have technically done but always had a sidekick that honestly knows much more and this one is the first I was solo on other then texting questions and thoughts to said sidekick <(leader of what to get and do)(LOL), also is where the Klipsch 5.1 came from (great friend).

Prices listed are what was paid at that time. To save money we took a bit of a risk and bought a used video card. This was near the height of the cryptocurrency mining boom, but, it worked out OK. Games played on this are Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, Minecraft and CS:GO. Given that this is an older build and starting to show it's age, upgrades would be a new video card (considering RX 5600 XT) and better cooling. A RAM upgrade was just done going to 16GB.

This was built for my son for light gaming duty during this stay at home time. He is currently playing Sea of Thieves and Minecraft. We raided our PS4 to get an SSD for this build which allowed us to save a bit which we put back into getting a better power supply. We don't have any future upgrades planned to the desktop itself as of this time. My son is pretty happy with it. We might add a monitor as right now it's connected to a 1080p 37" TV. No complaints from my son but I think that area can get better. Other than that, I know he'd like a proper desk and a nice chair.

I play World of Warcraft and wanted a high end gaming machine for the upcoming expansion. Also going to try MS Flight Simulator when it comes out in August to really push my new machine. In the future I may decide to swap out the two cooling fans in the case with RGB ones to add some more color! I will definitely be using Micro Center moving forward for ALL my computer part needs...no more big box store for me, lol. The associate (David) spent so much time answering all my questions and getting me all the right parts for what I wanted (especially his great recommendation on the GPU). He was not only helpful but his pleasant attitude made the whole experience a joy. Love the Wraith cooling that comes with the AMD Ryzen 7 that I bought. It is a very quiet fan and the colors make the interior of the computer look more like a gaming machine (which is what it is so that is what I was hoping for!) I was also happy to save a few buck when bundling the AORUS B550 PRO AC Motherboard with the Ryzen 7 processor together. Every bit saved helps in these challenging times. My expectations were met in every way for this build from pre-planning to buying to build to loading all programming. Build took approximately 5 hours from the time I laid the unopened boxes on the workspace until the final build was on my desk. Took about another hour and a half to update the BIOS, load Windows 10, and update drivers and install my key programs. My son is a big gamer and he is super jealous of the final product! Thank you Micro Center...I will be back!

I built this gaming PC for several reasons: my old computer was getting old and slow so I wanted a major upgrade and I had never built a computer on my own before, so I wanted the challenge. I wanted a computer that is ready for next gen games like Cyberpunk 2077, including ray tracing, and aesthetically I really like the open case concept. I currently play mainly RPG titles that are 5 years or older (Witcher series, Mass Effect series, Dragon Age series) but I have tested Rise and Shadow of the Tomb Raider on Artemis with Ultra High settings, and it performed flawlessly after tweaking the GPU overlock a bit. Overclock specs: 5Ghz all cores@1.28v Cinebench score of 5043 at 73 degrees C max temp (did very well with Timespy GPU and CPU Tests, Tomb Raider Benchmark, and Prime 95 but I don't have the exact numbers.) Cooling has been more than adequate with the highest temp spikes on Prime 95 but still below 90C. Challenges: I have never owned a water-cooled PC before, so deciding how to go about designing and implementing the custom loop was somewhat difficult. I decided to go with a custom loop over AIO for aesthetic reasons, better cooling performance, and again for the challenge. See my comments on "favorite feature" about the challenges of working with a triangular-shaped case. If you don't want to do a custom loop, AIO also looks nice with this rig as well. Using the iCue software from Corsair to control the RGB, Radiator Fans, and Water Pump. Easy to customize BUT buggy with fan speed and pump speed controls. One of my fans is currently operating at a different RPM than the others and the pump speed occasionally seems to dip. I am continuing to monitor to see if it's iCue or a short. Overall, I am thrilled with how this build turned out, both performance-wise and aesthetics-wise.

I bought a Macbook Air for my sister years ago and it seemed she was in need of an upgrade. We went for an under $1000 budget on this build. The main uses for the computer is to browse, watch videos, listen to music, and maybe light gaming in the future. I was lucky to grab an open box for the GPU and it works well! A 240mm AIO upgrade would be awesome for this build so it can help lower the temps compared to the stock cooler. I added an additional two NZXT case fans as intakes in the front; I wasn't using them in my build and works perfect for here!

It is my daily gaming machine and conversation piece. I chose the Thermaltake open air design because it looks so much different than anything else. Although I originally intended to use a custom loop in the system, I chose to go with with the Dark Rock Pro 4 that just looks massive hanging off the board and outperforms most AIOs. I will likely eventually replace this with a custom loop. When that happens, the GTX 1070 will get swapped out for a water cooled RTX 3080.

I mainly play CoD:MW, Destiny 2, Rogue Company, Escape from Tarkov, and many more. The sata based SSD's are mainly for my scratch drive and game media, while the 2TB is for long term storage and media. It's dual purpose is both a dedicated workstation for creating content and streaming, as well as gaming. It also serves as a fast, stable workstation for my work as a teacher (I teach creative writing). I also work on a literary magazine. In short, I wear a lot of hats. The upgrade that I came from was an Intel Core i5 Kaby Lake Processor. It was a good quad core processor, but because of the pandemic, I ended up needing to work from a more powerful machine. I went with a Ryzen 7 3700X and I am incredibly glad that I did. This processor is simply incredible coming from a quad core processor. My CPU had been surprisingly the bottleneck for my system for the games that I was playing, which was awful until I upgraded (I currently am speedrunning Resident Evil 2 (2019) and wanted the system to run at 120 FPS (a specific speedrunning category). I also wanted to have an air-cooled PC. As awesome as water-cooled builds are, they are definitely not for me. So I optimized this PC build for both air-cooling and silence, which was great. If there was anything that I could change about this PC currently, it would be the graphics card. I definitely will be upgrading the GPU either late this year or early next year. I would like to see the ray tracing capabilities, but I am waiting on the newer generation of graphics cards to come out, and then make my decision. My EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW Card is an incredible card, and unless the performance jump is substantial, it doesn't make a lot of financial sense to upgrade until the next gen GPUs are out. I'd also like to add an M.2 drive as well, preferably 1TB to make any storage issues obsolete.
