First Gaming PC
by Sean Z Posted on: 10/3/2024Build Description
I built this computer 6 years ago when I was watching a bunch of PC building channels like Linus Tech Tips and OzTalksHw. Previously, I was gaming on a used Optiplex 780 from ebay that I put an HD7570 in. That rig was a great step up from integrated graphics and allowed me to play many indie titles (Cuphead, Ori and the Blind Forest, Sonic Mania, Dead Cells) and old classics (Black Ops 2, Half Life 2, Far Cry 2). However, I wanted to play some of the more demanding RPG games that the 7570 couldn't handle. The Rx 570 on this build allowed me to play even more titles such as The Witcher 3, Left 4 Dead 2 with mods, Warframe, and almost every FromSoftware game which have become unforgettable experiences. Originally, my PC had a Ryzen 3 2200g (It still has the stickers on the front) and I was using the iGPU for a bit before I got the RX570. I upgraded to a Ryzen 5 5500 recently so I am probably going to get a new GPU soon. The only thing I would change is getting a bigger power supply, since I would need to replace mine with one with 600+ watts if I wanted to comfortably install a card like an RX 6700XT.
Favorite Feature
The amount of I/O. I use wired mice, keyboard, headphones, MIDI Keyboard, and a USB wifi adapter. I never need to go through the process of removing peripherals when I wanted to connect my phone and USB drives to my PC
