2024 AMD Build

Much of my old gaming PC was over a decade old: an i5 4670k, 16gb DDR3(!) RAM, and an RX 580 (which was the newest component). This old workhorse could handle most indie and older/more modest 3D games at 1080p, but modern titles were only playable at 30fps and low settings.

With my new (long overdue) build, I may not be playing the most graphically intense games out there, but I've been able to max out the following titles at 1440p and comfortably run them above 60fps (where possible) without the need for upscaling:

Baldur's Gate III
Helldivers 2
Elden Ring
Armored Core VI
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Remnant II
Last Epoch

I've also been able to multitask while playing the aforementioned titles, i.e. streaming several videos on a second monitor without any noticeable dips in game performance.
