Ryzen 3600+Gigabyte B450M DS3H WiFi+Radeon RX6400 low-profile in a Dell Optiplex 990 case. Front panel USB has been swapped from factory wiring to generic USB 3 connectors using the stock USB port locations. Power switch and indicator light were rewired using standard wiring. Built for streaming services and light gaming. RAM is Neo Forza Faye 16GB dual channel DDR4-3000 I had in the parts bin. SSD is a WD Blue SN570 500GB PCI-E 3.0x4 device. PSU is a Solid Gear TFX unit, as the stock Dell unit didn't have enough power on the 12-volt rail for the CPU and GPU. (I also set the CPU to "Eco Mode" so I have more head room on the 12-volt rail.) Heaven runs an average of 52FPS at 1080p ultra with extreme tessellation. Forest Benchmark was running at between 70 and 85 fps. Sackboy's Big Adventure runs 1080p 60 fps framelocked with raytraced shadows and all other settings on high. And yes, the optical drive still works.

I built this PC when I graduated university and I wanted to treat myself for being the first in the family to finish school. All 4 years of school I used a laptop to do my work and play games so once I graduated I knew getting a PC is something affordable and would bring me many years of joy! I currently use this desktop to draw CAD models, watch videos, and play games such as Valorant, League of Legends, and Halo Infinite. I love my build mainly because I customized it myself. I envied the all white minimalist desktop look and I'm glad I was able to achieve that. Something I wish I fixed is my cable management. My best friend and I built our desktops at 3AM and I was so excited to use the desktop i told myself I will fix it when I get the chance... a year and a half went by and the cables are still the same XD.

The reason for this build was because I wanted to be able to play computer games with my friends, but also be able to be productive when it comes to homework for school and work for my job. The other reason I finally decided to finally build a pc was also because of the CoronaVirus pandemic, since we as a nation were being ordered to stay quarantined, I figured this was the best time as any to join the pc master race. With CyberPunk 2077 coming later this year, I wanted to up my experience from my Xbox to PC gaming. Things I would have done different is not mix matching the parts, this was my first ever build so I just bought what I thought looked nice and was affordable. Next time I build a computer I plan on being more unified in parts. In the future I plan to over clock my CPU, so a future upgrade to my pc would be the AIO for better cooling to the future over clock.

Covid caused me to need a new rig for home, couldn't find all the parts I wanted locally so I drove up to Tustin and purchased all these parts from MicroCenter! first full complete build with awesome specs ( vs medium build and upgrading) First AMD processor in years, and I love it. Just finished Death Stranding on a new monitor with 144hz, amazing game. I added a lego tower at the end of my GPU to stop the uneven sag, and the lego figures are keeping a watch on things. I am debating on selling the 2070 super for the new RTX cards coming out.

  So I've been gaming pretty much all my life. Back in 2014 I got my first proper gaming PC. Then it was just low end, bought... So I've been gaming pretty much all my life. Back in 2014 I got my first proper gaming PC. Then it was just low end, bought by my parents, built by person at the store. All midrange economical parts. Since then I've been pretty hooked into PC gaming as a whole. Previously I had a gaming laptop so going from laptop to desktop was a huge change, so big I wondered how on earth I was using a laptop for so many years. Fast forward 2019. I've now graduated from college, got a job, and have money for once in my life. I'm still all the time following youtubers like LinusTechTips and whatnot and always just following the latest tech, always seeing glamorous PC builds. From watching those videos everyday for years, I always wanted to feel the awesomeness of a proper high end build. So it was a dream of mine to build something that would be a gaming beast and a huge upgrade from my previous build as well. I wanted to go pretty much all out, no compromises but within a reasonable budget as I'm just not loaded with cash. I had to save up for this for well over a year. I started buying things slowly overtime with all my peripherals like my keyboard, mouse, chair, table, and stuff. Last piece was going to be the main PC itself and monitor upgrade. I bought things with the idea in my head, one and done. Like if I buy this, I'm not going to want to replace it at all. It was exactly what I would have wanted in my dream scenario. Then came time where I was ready to buy, and Ryzen 3000 was about to launch. I've been doing months of just looking at PC parts and watching youtube reviews of every part so I knew exactly what I would want. I've been watching many build videos, even bought PC Building Simulator so I can practice building since I didn't want to have someone else build my pc for me. I went to Microcenter right on launch day, July 7th and bought myself a Ryzen 3900X, with a brand new x570 motherboard, fancy new pcei gen 4.0 5gb/s m.2 ssd. I got the works, then two days later I picked up the brand new RTX 2070 Super on launch day and got the monitor to go along with it. Certainly can't afford a 2080ti but that gpu was powerful enough and at a good price point where it wasn't terrible performance per dollar. I didn't go overkill with any part of this PC, everything I use 100% to the fullest. I game almost everyday on it. I like to stream as well on occasion. I want to make youtube videos on it. I use it for school and work. This thing just flies through everything I throw at it. I love it. Any changes I would make to the build would simply be adding another 16gb of ram to it. I'm for sure going to buy the new RTX 3080 and plug that into my PC. I'll eventually add in another m.2 ssd eventually and one that'll be even faster. I also wish to add in a good standard ssd as well, my current standard ssd in it is unfortanetly dramless which I didn't really know about at the time, and I feel like when running games on that it acts not as well as an ssd should. I wish that my cpu cooler and the fans with it would sync up with my other devices, also my mouse and speakers so it would be all one light sync.

  I built my computer primarily for school work and gaming. I use my computer every day, whether I am programming and doing... I built my computer primarily for school work and gaming. I use my computer every day, whether I am programming and doing school work, or playing games. I usually play eSports titles like CS:GO and Rocket League, as well as COD:MW, and of course some single player games like the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and looking forward to new releases like Cyberpunk 2077. My PC and internet connection are able to handle 1080p/60fps streams on Twitch, but I only stream occasionally or when my friends and I are doing a long gaming session. Obviously, my theme with the PC has been a black and white theme. I am a big Star Wars fan and it only made sense to throw in a bobblehead First Order Stormtrooper. I also added in the mini AE86 license plate because I was always a huge fan of the Trueno AE86 from Initial D, and now I own the newer Toyota 86, with a white and black look, so it add more of my personality to the build. If there was something that I would change about my PC would probably be the case. The S340 Elite has served me well, but I have been on the look out for a case worthy enough for the upgrade. So when the Lian Li Lancool II and mesh versions came out, I saw the great review and even better I could easily keep the same look. As you can see, my PC is already doing everything that I need and I have no complaints. So why did I enter the PC Showcase contest? Well, I have a friend, who will remain nameless, who has been live streaming and doing video edits for his YouTube channel on an FX processor and a GTX 970. My friends and I have been saving up money to surprise him with a new build for his birthday, which is coming up soon. (hopefully he doesn't see this so it can remain a surprise) So that is why I have entered this contest, so that hopefully my friends and I, can get more help in building a PC that would be a HUGE upgrade for him. If I do end up making it into the top 5, I want to thank Micro Center for giving me the chance of winning. Regardless on if I win, I plan on putting a simple video together on my Youtube channel that will have my friends reaction to the new PC we are able to afford getting him. But after 2 weeks. I felt this strong urge to "upgrade" because who doesn't want to be a PC master race, right, right (please say yes so I don't feel bad about my decision)? Anyways, my brain said "no" but my hands took out the credit card and now I am here posting this. I am starting to think that this rig might be too big, and looking at some ITX builds now. I should let my wife keep the credit card because that "urge to upgrade" is hitting me again.

  I built this computer rig to fulfill my dream of a great computer. I had an older desktop that ran an i5 and the GTX1060... I built this computer rig to fulfill my dream of a great computer. I had an older desktop that ran an i5 and the GTX1060 with a standard monitor. With this build, I wanted to upgrade more on the internal parts as well as my monitor to give myself a great computer that would run everything I needed. However, I did not upgrade the CPU to a high-end processor or the video card as I built it around a budget as well as what would satisfy my needs. However, my upgrade itch did cause me to expand from one regular monitor to three 27” MSI curved gaming monitors. In addition, since it was a gaming machine, I wanted to add some flair with RGB, so I did incorporate that into the build. Currently, I am using it to play World of Warcraft, Skyrim, PUBG and Star Citizen (Beta). So far, this machine has run everything I have thrown at it and has met every expectation I wanted.

Sure enough he's addicted to his new PC while the PS4 is now collecting dust. And truthfully, I've never ever built one completely from scratch. I've tinkered and upgraded, but never a full on build. I built this computer to play RTX games like Control, other third person action games, FPS games of all kinds, and those "walking simulators" like Firewatch and What Remains of Edith Finch. I LOVE a great game story. I mostly play PC games like Destiny 2 and Deliver us the Moon... as well as fun VR games like Half-Life: Alyx & Beat Saber. I also love to stream with my family with games like Davigo VR, Fall Guys, Minecraft, Overwatch, Fortnite, Splitgate, Among Us, and others! Our Twitch channel is BurtonFamGaming. This rig is a gaming, VR, streaming PC... mostly for me (Dad), but also for the whole family (only... with Dad's permission of course. Only I have the password) :-D If I could go back, I might have waited a few months so I could purchase a 3080... but oh well. :-) I researched this for most of quarantine before finally building it about 4 weeks ago... so frankly, there's not much I would change about how I built it. The ONLY thing I wish I had done was perhaps get an X570 board or the ROG Strix B550-E so I'd get that Gen 2 Type C front header. I also plan to upgrade to 32 gigs of ram before long... but besides that, I'm really happy with it!

It was overdue to upgrade from a HP Pavilion and old laptop and wanted to experience building a stronger PC than the prebuilt ones. It's built for production work and Monster Hunter World. Future upgrades may include an aftermarket CPU air cooler, custom sleeved cables and Lian Li SL120 Uni fans for a cleaner look and cable management. Throughout the process, I have considered a blackout build; however, RGB is a bit addicting to look at and due to availability issues for certain parts. To compromise, I opted to have only my cooling parts to have RGB hoping for a somehow minimalist or dual toned look.
